Green Bay Packers Kick Off Development Plans for $130M Titletown District

GREEN BAY, WIS. — The Green Bay Packers, winners of 13 football championships including four Super Bowls, have unveiled development plans for a $130 million business district — dubbed Titletown District — to be constructed on approximately 34 acres of land immediately west of Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Packers are investing $65 million in the project, with other organizations adding an additional $65 million of investment.

Coming on the heels of recent stadium renovations, Packers officials expect Titletown to attract more visitors to the area, spur regional economic growth and offer new amenities for residents.

Development partners for Titletown District include Sterling Project Development, a real estate advisory firm; Rosetti, a global architectural design and planning firm; and Biederman Redevelopment Ventures, a firm that creates, redevelops, and operates parks, public spaces, and neighborhood streetscapes.

“We’re very excited to share our vision for the Titletown District,” said Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy in a press release. “The public plaza, with its size and location near Lambeau Field, will be a draw that is very unique in our area and a wonderful public space for our community.”

Titletown’s central attraction is a 10-acre public plaza, which will feature fitness-related activities, cultural opportunities, a winter ice-skating rink, team-inspired public art and additional space for versatile activities.

Three key tenants in Titletown to be integrated around the public plaza will include Lodge Kohler, a hotel built and managed by Kohler Co.; a Bellin Health Sports Medicine Clinic; and Hinterland Restaurant and Brewery. These initial tenants will be located on approximately eight acres of land in Titletown. Future development on the remaining 16 acres calls for additional commercial and retail elements, as well as a residential component.

Lodge Kohler is a proposed Four-Diamond hotel and will include a panoramic bar and restaurant, an indoor/outdoor garden pool, spa and fitness facility and an outdoor area featuring a tented event space, as well as year-round accommodations for guests.

Bellin Health, the official healthcare partner of the Green Bay Packers, will operate a nearly 30,000-square-foot sports medicine facility geared toward injury prevention, performance improvement, as well as treatment and therapy for injuries.

Hinterland Restaurant and Brewery will operate a 20,000-square-foot brewpub and restaurant that will pair farm-to-table fare with game-day specialties. The restaurant’s upper level will host more intimate groups of 50 to 75 people and feature Hinterland’s signature Green Bay culinary experience; and also have rooms for private events.

The Packers will hold focus groups in the coming weeks with community stakeholders to determine the desired programming and activities for the public plaza.

A groundbreaking on Titletown is set for this coming fall. Targeted completion for all initial components of the project is scheduled for fall 2017.
