STATELINE, NEV. — Caesar’s Entertainment (NASDAQ: CZR), a gaming and casino giant based in Reno, has begun the $160 million transformation of Harveys Lake Tahoe, a 1.6 million-square-foot hotel and casino located in Stateline. The redevelopment project will feature upgrades, accommodations, elevated dining and gaming options and a new contemporary design. Beginning July 1, the resort will operate as Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino.
“This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe,” says Karie Hall, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s and Caesar’s Republic Lake Tahoe.
The 88,000-square-foot casino floor at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe will be reimagined with fresh carpeting, lighting, tables, chairs and digital displays, while also including new slot machines, a high limit room and a World Series of Poker room. The lobby will also be redesigned.
The resort’s towers, Remus Tower and Romulus Tower (formerly Mountain Tower and Tahoe Tower), will also be improved. All rooms in the Remus Tower will be remodeled, while Romulus Tower will receive a refresh after previously being fully redesigned in 2020. Additionally, butler service for select suites will be available for both hotels.
Additionally, guests will be able to patron new restaurants such as Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, WOLF by Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsey’s first Northern Nevada Hell’s Kitchen location.
Although the renovations at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe will continue throughout 2025, it will pause during the summer season. Its second transformation phase will begin in the fall, with the entire project expected to be completed in summer 2026.
Caesar’s Entertainment is also making capital improvements at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, a hotel and casino that is connected to Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe via an underground connector. Renovations include upgrades to the resort’s Summit Suites and technological and property improvements throughout. Additionally, Brew Brothers recently opened a craft beer and dining experience at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.
Owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, North America’s largest alpine lake, and is the oldest ongoing casino operation in the area. Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is the second Caesars Republic to open in two years, following the opening of Hilton Hotel’s Caesars Republic Scottsdale in Arizona.
Founded in 1937, Caesar’s Entertainment is the largest casino entertainment company in the United States and owns and operates properties under the Caesars, Harrah’s, Horseshoe, Tropicana and Eldorado brand names. The company’s stock price closed on Wednesday, April 30 at $27.06 per share, down from $36.38 a year ago, a 25.6 percent decline.
