SPRINGETTSBURY TOWNSHIP, PA. — A partnership between affiliates of locally based developer Endurance Real Estate Group LLC and asset manager DWS Group will develop a 352,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Springettsbury Township, located in York County. Construction began recently with the demolition of the existing structures on the 28.1-acre, rail-served site, which is located less than half a mile from I-83. Delivery is slated for the first quarter of 2020. Building features will include 36-foot clear heights, an ESFR sprinkler system, a 185-foot truck court and ample space for automobile and trailer parking.

WARD HILL, MASS. — Cedar’s Foods, a supplier of Mediterranean foods, will soon open a $100 million, 125,000-square-foot production facility in Ward Hill, located near the New Hampshire border. The facility has been under construction for the past year and is scheduled to open in August in a move that will bring 125 new jobs to the area. Cedar’s also operates two other production facilities in the area totaling 174,000 square feet, as well as a 75,000-square-foot dry storage facility. With the completion of this project, the company’s regional footprint will total roughly 375,000 square feet.
QUINCY, MASS. — WinnCompanies and NeighborWorks Housing Solutions have completed construction of The Watson, a 140-unit affordable housing project in the southern Boston suburb of Quincy. Project costs were approximately $44 million. The Watson features 86 apartments available to residents earning 110 percent or less than the area median income (AMI). Twenty eight residences will be rented to households earning 50 percent or less of AMI, and 26 units are reserved for market-rate housing. The Watson was developed at the site of a former shipyard and is close to being fully preleased.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — Starwood Capital Group, a Connecticut-based private investment firm, has acquired land in one of East Austin’s opportunity zones for the development of a 342-unit multifamily project. The garden-style property will be located at 500 U.S. Highway 183 S. within close proximity to Austin’s central business district (CBD), entertainment district and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Completion is slated for spring 2020.
INTERNATIONAL FALLS, MINN. — Kraus-Anderson Construction has completed construction of Phase II of the Falls International Airport in International Falls. The $5.3 million Phase II included the full replacement of the 17,894-square-foot terminal building as well as new space for U.S. Customs processing, a National Weather Service office, TSA offices and airport administration. Phase I construction was completed in fall 2017 and included the replacement of approximately two-thirds of the old terminal. The first runways at the airport opened in 1946.
Linkvest Capital, Futura to Develop 260 Apartment Units Within Orlando’s Lake Nona District

ORLANDO, FLA. — A joint venture between Linkvest Capital and Futura will build Futura at Nona Cove, a 260-unit apartment complex within Orlando’s Lake Nona master-planned development. The multifamily community will be built in phases, with the first phase expected to begin in the first quarter of 2020 and deliver in the third quarter of 2021. The building will stand five stories high and will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 623 to 1,315 square feet. Communal amenities will include a clubroom, resident lounge, swimming pool, fitness center, jogging trails, dog park, dog spa and a gazebo. The property will also feature 32,000 square feet of retail space and a four-story, 122,000-square-foot self-storage facility. Charlan Brock Associates designed Futura at Nona Cove. Plans for future phases were not disclosed. Tavistock is developing Lake Nona, a master-planned, 11-square-mile mixed-use project that comprises 7.1 million square feet of residential and commercial space.
Franklin Johnston, Virginia Wesleyan University Begin Construction on 244-Unit Student Housing Community

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — The Franklin Johnston Group and Virginia Wesleyan University (VWU) have broken ground on Coastal 61 at Oxford Village, a planned 244-unit apartment complex situated adjacent to the university. The new community will be located on a vacant site in Virginia Beach within an Opportunity Zone owned by the university. The property will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 833 to 1,395 square feet. The asset is expected to be complete in 2020. Communal amenities will include a rooftop sky park, two-story clubhouse and a swimming pool. The housing community will be open to the public and is envisioned as a place for VWU students, faculty and staff.
Ex-Football Coach Steve Spurrier to Open Restaurant Within Celebration Pointe in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FLA. — Former University of Florida football coach Steve Spurrier is seeking a partner for a new restaurant in Celebration Pointe in Gainesville. The new restaurant will be called “Spurrier’s” and is expected to open in 2020. The selected partner will have a $1 million build-out budget and the ability to influence the final menu and décor, as well a salary and/or equity in the restaurant. The partner will be named later this year. Celebration Pointe is a 160-acre mixed-use development that upon completion will span more than 1 million square feet and will include office and retail space, residential units and a mix of experiential and entertainment venues, such as seafood restaurant The Keys, a Nike Factory Store and a 10-screen Regal Cinemas theater.
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS — The Howard Hughes Corp. has broken ground on a 163-unit multifamily project within The Woodlands, a master-planned community located about 30 miles north of Houston. The seven-story building will be situated within The Woodlands Town Center and offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units averaging 1,100 square feet. Amenities will include a fitness center, outdoor cooking area and coworking office space. Completion is slated for the fourth quarter.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Local investment firm Fort Capital is underway on Phase II of Nursery Lane Office Park, a project that will add 21,283 square feet of new space to Fort Worth’s office supply. Phase I spanned 16,800 square feet and was completed in March 2017, and Phase II is expected to be complete by August. Construction on a third and final phase is also slated to occur this year. JLL is handling leasing of the new space.
