JERSEY VILLAGE, TEXAS — Houston-based development firm Collaborate has entered into a partnership agreement with the City of Jersey Village, located about 20 miles northwest of downtown Houston, to develop Village Center, a 43-acre mixed-use project. According to Community Impact Newspaper, the project will include residential, retail, restaurant and hotel uses, with water features, green spaces and pedestrian trails interspersed throughout the property. Houston-based Page is leading design of the project, which has a development time frame of 36 to 48 months. Greatland Co., another local firm, will handle leasing and management of the retail and restaurant space.

SOUTH MIAMI, FLA. — Yumbrella Food Hall is now open at The Shops at Sunset Place in South Miami. Led by food truck organizer and restaurateur Steve Simon, Yumbrella is the only food hall in the city, paying homage to Miami’s original food hall, which opened in the 1970s by the same name. The 6,500-square-foot hall features seven restaurant concepts ranging from Chinese to soul food, Italian, Latin, American and German fare. Confirmed food hall vendors include Cracked by Chef Adrianne, Dr. Limon Express, Killer Melts, NOODS, King of Racks BBQ, The Tonic and The Beverly. Amenities include a shared kitchen, full bar, stage for musical performances and a private room for events. The Shops at Sunset Place has been owned and operated by Federal Realty Investment Trust, Grass River Property and The Comras Co. since 2015. Other tenants at The Shops at Sunset Place include AMC Theatres, LA Fitness, Tea & Poets, Splitsville and Z-Gallerie.

CUMMING, GA. — Retail Planning Corp. (RPC) will break ground on The Publix at Matt shopping center in Cumming. Publix will anchor the 82,000-square-foot center, with other signed leases including Great Clips, AT&T, J. Christopher’s and Nail Talk & Tan. The property will be situated at the corner of Bannister Road and Matt Highway, about 48 miles north of downtown Atlanta. RPC expects to deliver the shopping center in summer 2020.

Home-Chef-Western-Distribution-San-Bernardino-CA

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF. — McShane Construction Co. has started construction on the Home Chef Western Distribution Center in San Bernardino. The 107,134-square-foot property will support Home Chef’s growth and is scheduled to open in third-quarter 2019. Chicago-based Home Chef is a meal kit company that offers subscription meal kits online and retail meal kits at more than 700 Kroger stores in the United States. The warehouse facility will include 79,642 square feet of food preparation space, 17,907 square feet of office space and on-site parking for 208 vehicles. Additionally, the property will feature a vestibule, conference rooms, locker rooms, bathrooms, frock room and break room. Harris Architects is the architect of record for the project.

ANAHEIM, CALIF. — R.D. Olson Construction has broken ground on a 223-room, dual-branded hotel located at 1441 S. Manchester Ave. in Anaheim. Situated two blocks from Disneyland Resort, the 220,000-square-foot property will comprise a 123-room Hilton Garden Inn and a 100-room Home2 Suites. Home2 Suites offers an extended-stay experience for guests, including a full-sized sleeper sofa, workspace and in-suite kitchen complete with a refrigerator, cooktop, dishwasher, dishes and glassware. Additionally, the dual-branded property will also include a laundry, fitness center and 24-hour marketplace. Both hotels will also have access to a restaurant, bar, pool, hot tub, kids splash pad and shared lobby. Guests at both hotels will also have access to 1,000 square feet of meeting space, 1,500 square feet of retail space and two levels of underground valet parking. Completion is slated for the fourth quarter of 2020. The project team includes BRR Architecture and Studio 11 Design.

SAVANNAH, GA. — Duke Realty is developing a 194,120-square-foot build-to-suit facility for Schilli Distribution Services, a logistics services provider, in Savannah. Schilli has entered into a long-term lease for the facility, which will sit on 12.1 acres at 276 Jimmy Deloach Parkway, about four miles west of Port of Savannah. Delivery is expected by this summer. Accessible via a CSX rail spur, the facility will include 32-foot clear heights, 43 nine-by-10-foot dock doors and two 12-by14-foot drive-in doors. Bob Luttrell and Ken Boyd with Newmark Frank Knight represented Schilli in the lease transaction while Duke Realty was represented internally by Brian Sutton.

SEATTLE — Seattle-based Avenue 55 is developing Track 6, a multi-story industrial space located in the SoDo submarket of Seattle. Situated on 2.4 acres, Track 6 will include a four-story, 212,516-square-foot building with dock-high and grade-level loading into forklift freight elevators, 54,000-square-foot floor plates, a ground-floor with 24-foor clear heights and 108 surface parking stalls. Construction is slated to begin later this year with delivery scheduled for fourth-quarter 2020. The project team includes Nelson, formerly Craft Architects; Sierra Construction; and Barghausen Consulting Engineers. Thad Mallory of Newmark Knight Frank’s Bellevue, Wash., office and Evan Lugar of Kidder Mathews are handling preleasing for the property.

MCKINNEY, TEXAS — KDC will develop a 100,000-square-foot office campus in the northern Dallas metro of McKinney for SRS Distribution Inc., a wholesale provider of roofing and building products. The campus will be situated on 4.2 acres within Hub 121, a 22-acre mixed-use development. According to the incentive agreement signed with the McKinney Economic Development Corp., the move will aim to create more than 150 new jobs over the next 10 years.

BASTROP, TEXAS — The Beck Group, an architecture and construction firm with offices around the country, has topped off Ascension Seton Bastrop Hospital, a 40,000-square-foot medical center in Bastrop, about 35 miles east of Austin. Situated on 32 acres adjacent to Highway 71, the property will offer a full emergency center with inpatient beds on the first floor and medical office space on the second floor. Completion is slated for June.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WIS. — Phoenix Investors has unveiled plans to convert its industrial facility located at 7505 Durand Ave. in Mount Pleasant into self-storage use. Phoenix plans to add up to 2,000 climate-controlled units at the 200,000-square-foot property. Store Here Self Storage will operate the facility.
