HILSIDE, N.J. — Bank OZK has provided a $15.6 million construction loan for Hillside CubeSmart, a 1,203-unit self-storage facility in Hillside. HFF represented the borrower, Quinlan Development Group, in the transaction. Terms of the financing were not disclosed. CubeSmart, one of the nation’s largest operators of self-storage facilities, will manage the property. The property is located at 591 North Union Ave.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Retail Business Services has broken ground on a 200,000-square-foot protein packaging and distribution facility in North Kingstown. Infinity Meat Solutions will occupy the facility, where it will handle beef, pork and prepared meats. Cargill Protein will manage the site’s operations and workforce. The facility is expected to bring approximately 700 jobs to North Kingstown.

MIDDLEBURG, FLA. — The Vestcor Cos. has opened Cassie Gardens, a 96-unit affordable seniors housing community in Middleburg, a southwestern suburb of Jacksonville. Cassie Gardens is the only affordable senior living community in Clay County, according to the developer. Vestcor owns 17 affordable housing communities across Florida. The units at Cassie Gardens are age-restricted for those over 55 years old earning less than 60 percent of the area median income.

FRISCO, TEXAS — The Jenkins Organization, a Houston-based self-storage owner, developer and manager, has opened Frisco Self Storage, an 815-unit facility located on the northern outskirts of Dallas. The 90,250-square-foot property features both climate- and non-climate-controlled space, as well as wine storage. The official opening was held in late September.

Westinghouse-Road-Corporate-Center

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — Frisco-based TIG Real Estate Services will develop Westinghouse Road Corporate Center, a mixed-use project that will span 16 acres in the northern Austin metro of Georgetown. The property will be located adjacent to a 432-unit townhome community and upon completion will feature office, retail, flex and medical office space. The project is expected to break ground before year’s end and to carry a construction period of six to seven months.

PLANO, TEXAS — Bob Moore Construction has begun work on a 55,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Plano for Signazon, an online retailer and supplier of signs, banners and marketing materials. The property includes an unspecified amount of office space. GFF Architecture designed the tilt-wall project, which is expected to be complete by early 2019.

NEW CANEY, TEXAS — Arch-Con Construction, a general contractor with offices in Dallas and Houston, has broken ground on an 11,000-square-foot medical office building in New Caney, a northern suburb of Houston. The property will be situated within Grand Texas, a mixed-use development by GT Operating Co. that includes a theme park, a water park, hotels and restaurants. Browne McGregor Architects is the architect of the project, which will deliver primary care offices and an urgent care clinic. Completion is scheduled for early 2019.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Walker & Dunlop has structured $61 million in financing for the recapitalization of The Shops at Dakota Crossing, a trophy retail center in Washington, D.C. Jamie Butler of Walker & Dunlop led the team that replaced the existing construction financing with a senior bridge loan, which also provides for future funding based on additional leasing and capital costs. Located on New York Avenue, the 140,000-square-foot shopping center is 98 percent pre-leased to national and local tenants, including the city’s first Costco, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Marshalls, PetSmart, Chick-fil-A and Starbucks Coffee.

Confluent-Colorado-Springs-CO

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Confluent Development is nearing completion of an 8,265-square-foot, multi-tenant retail center in Colorado Springs. The property will be home to a 3,800-square-foot Snooze: an A.M. Eatery restaurant and a 1,491-square-foot Bishops Cuts/Color barbershop. Both locations are set to open in early 2019. The project is designed to also house a third future retailer in the remaining 3,000 square feet of space. Studio DH Architecture served as the architect on the project and Epic Construction as the general contractor.

OMAHA, NEB. — R&R Realty Group has completed development of a 250,000-square-foot speculative warehouse in Omaha. Warehouse 1, located at the intersection of Gold Coast Road and Highway 50, is the first warehouse to be completed within R&R Commerce Park. Three more buildings are planned within the park for a total of more than 1 million square feet. Each of the buildings will feature a clear height of 32 feet. R&R will own, manage and complete lease-up of the development. Leuder Construction served as the contractor on the project.
