FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. — Fayetteville-based fast casual restaurant chain Slim Chickens has signed a franchise deal for seven new restaurants in the state of Maryland. Franchisee DDR Holdings, a venture between brothers Darrin and Dennis Atlas, will open the units. DDR Holdings currently owns and operates two Slim Chickens stores in the state. The Slim Chickens brand has opened in more than 255 locations across the United States and the UK, with more than 1,200 stores currently in development.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — RoadOne IntermodaLogistics has signed a 422,136-square-foot industrial lease at 1000 Imeson Park Blvd. in Jacksonville. A joint venture between North Signal Capital and an affiliate of Fox Capital Partners, doing business as JAX-IMESON JV LLC, is the landlord. Luke Pope of JLL represented the landlord in the lease negotiations. The tenant will fully occupy the property, which features tilt-up concrete construction, 36-foot clear heights, an ESFR sprinkler systems, LED lighting, 216 car parking spaces, 180 trailer parking spaces and two drive-in doors. RoadOne plans to implement improvements at the facility, including the addition of dock levelers to each of the 81 dock-high doors, fencing around the entire site, a guard shack and a 100,000-square-foot climate-controlled section. RoadOne is operating in the warehouse throughout the construction, which is scheduled for completion later this year.

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Z Modular, a subsidiary of steel manufacturer Zekelman Industries, is nearing completion of Flatz 512, a $62 million multifamily project in the Central Texas city of San Marcos, according to a report from Community Impact Newspaper. When complete later this year, Flatz 512 will offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units.  Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, pickleball court, coffee bar, spa, sports simulator lounge, outdoor grilling stations and walking trails. Construction began in 2020, and South Carolina-based Greystar is managing the property, according to the local news outlet.

AUBREY, TEXAS — A partnership between two California-based firms, developer Legacy Partners and investment manager Resmark Cos., is underway on construction of a 134-unit build-to-rent residential project in Aubrey, located in Denton County. Designed by Architecture Demarest and known as Oak Grove, the development will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom homes ranging in size from 770 to 1,625 square feet. Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, coworking space, an outdoor kitchen and a dog park. Rents will start at $2,000 per month for a one-bedroom home.

BUFFALO GROVE, ILL. — Shorewood Development Group will build a 50,720-square-foot automotive sales and service center for Tesla in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove. The project site at the southeast corner of Dundee and Old Arlington Heights roads is the former location of a Rohrman auto dealership that has been vacant for more than 14 years. Daniel Barrins of Associated Bank originated a financing package on behalf of Shorewood. In addition to the financing for the service center, the loan package includes financing for the acquisition and site work of a 10-acre adjacent land parcel that consists of retail and residential zone uses. The retail property can accommodate two buildings with a combined 30,000 to 40,000 square feet of space. The residential parcel is under contract to be sold to a local apartment developer to build four buildings with a total of 197 units.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Sanford Health has unveiled plans to build Good Samaritan Society — Founder’s Crossing, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Sioux Falls. The developer plans to break ground this spring. The first phase of the CCRC will include 146 independent living villas, 120 independent living apartments, 32 assisted living apartments and 32 memory care apartments, all slated for completion in 2026. A second phase over the following two years will add a short-term rehabilitation and long-term care center, additional villas, a Sanford Health clinic and a Lewis Drug location. The health clinic and pharmacy will be open to the public. Phase II is scheduled for completion by 2028.

GREEN BAY, WIS. — Cicero Construction Group is underway on the renovation of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Green Bay East hotel. Completion is slated for June. The Wolf family, which owns and operates the hotel, is a second-generation family-owned business. The renovation project will include the hotel’s 80 guest rooms, the lobby area with registration desk, business center, Express Shop market, indoor pool and spa, Express Start breakfast bar and fitness center. Cicero will also fully revitalize the hotel’s public bathrooms, back-of-house laundry operations, meeting room, stairwells, corridors, offices, vestibule and elevator lobbies. In guest rooms, Cicero will install new carpeting, window treatments, furnishings and bedding along with updated color palettes on walls and ceilings. Guest bathrooms will be outfitted with new fixtures, tub-to-shower conversions and mirrors with built-in lighting.

LOS ANGELES — Landmark Properties has broken ground on The Standard at Los Angeles, a 1,284-bed student housing community located a few blocks south of the University of Southern California (USC) campus. The mid-rise apartment building will include the construction of 1,236 beds across 429 units, as well as the renovation of five existing townhomes that will comprise 48 beds. Landmark Construction, the in-house general contractor for Landmark Properties, is managing construction. HED designed the project. The property is slated to open in August 2026. Situated at the east side of the 160-acre Exposition Park, The Standard at Los Angeles will include a mix of floor plans ranging from studios to five-bedroom units. Residences will be fully wired for high-speed internet. Landmark says the amenity package at The Standard at Los Angeles will be one of the largest by square footage within its portfolio. Residents will have access to more than 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity spaces. The rooftop will include a resort-style pool with a sun deck, Jumbotron and outdoor grilling stations. Designed by UD Architects and known as Highland, the development will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom homes ranging in size from 780 to 1,500 square feet. Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, coworking space, an outdoor kitchen and a dog park. Rents will start at $2,100 per month for a one-bedroom home. Completion is slated for late 2025.

ALVIN, TEXAS — Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply, a provider of outdoor apparel and agricultural equipment, will open a 55,000-square-foot store at 2500 S. Bypass 35 in Alvin, about 30 miles south of Houston. Culbertson Contractors is constructing the store from the ground up after buying the 12.6-acre site. Alex Makris and Patrick Keegan of Partners Real Estate represented the seller, East Bay Partners Ltd., in the disposition of the land.
