MANOR, TEXAS — The Independent School District of Manor, a northeastern suburb of Austin, has completed a 116,000-square-foot academic project. Manor Rise Academy will serve approximately 850 students from kindergarten to eighth grade. The 40-acre campus will house multiple gyms, a media center, two art rooms, three maker spaces, performing arts classrooms, student collaboration areas and flexible classrooms. The site also features competition-level athletic fields, outdoor learning spaces and playgrounds. Birmingham-based HPM served as program manager for the project, providing quality control and preconstruction services, as well as maintaining schedule and budget compliance during construction.

CARTERET, N.J. — Crow Holdings has completed Crow Holdings at Carteret, a 1.2 million-square-foot speculative industrial facility that is situated on a 126-acre site in Northern New Jersey. The development consists of three buildings ranging in size from 335,000 to 480,000 square feet that feature 40-foot clear heights, as well as a total of 174 dock doors, 140 trailer parking spaces and six drive-in ramps. Construction was completed in about 18 months. Cushman & Wakefield is the leasing agent.
Arizona State University, Catellus Start Construction of 275,000 SF Retail Portion of Novus Innovation Corridor in Tempe, Arizona

TEMPE, ARIZ. — Arizona State University (ASU) and Catellus Development Corp. have started construction of Novus Place, the 275,000-square-foot retail and entertainment portion of Novus Innovation Corridor, a 4.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development in Tempe. Located adjacent to ASU’s Tempe campus, the multi-phase project is being developed through a public-private partnership between the university and development firm. Vestar will manage the retail portion of the development. Fox Restaurant Concepts (FRC) recently signed a lease to bring three food-and-beverage concepts — Flower Child, Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina and North Italia — to the development, with the openings scheduled for next year. Additionally, Blue Sushi Sake Grill and Eureka! have signed leases for 6,021 and 4,290 square feet, respectively. Over Easy and Nautical Bowls also plan to open restaurants at the property, leasing 3,154 and 1,211 square feet, respectively, and tea concept The Alley will occupy 1,738 square feet.
CHICAGO — McHugh Construction has topped off 1000M, a 73-story luxury apartment tower located at 1000 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago’s Grant Park. McHugh Concrete poured the final concrete floor and completed the roof this month. Upon completion in 2024, 1000M will be one of the city’s tallest apartment buildings. The next phase of construction includes managing the glass façade installation and interior build-out. Apartments will be delivered in phases throughout 2024. There will be 738 units, ranging in size from studios to four-bedroom penthouses. Residents will have access to more than 80,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, including Chicago’s highest rooftop observation deck to be located on the 73rd floor. Time Equities Inc., JK Equities and Oak Capitals are the developers, and the late Helmut Jahn designed the property. Chicago-based interior designer Kara Mann designed the unit and amenity area interiors. Cullen Construction Management is the owner’s representative.
SHEBOYGAN, WIS. — Charter Senior Living has partnered with DMK Development Group and American Cos. to build a new senior living community in Sheboygan, about 57 miles north of Milwaukee. Charter Senior Living of Sheboygan, in conjunction with Van Horn Real Estate, will be located within the North Town master-planned development. It will offer a total of 175 senior apartments in a variety of floor plans, including 108 independent living units, 46 assisted living units and 21 memory care suites. Development costs are estimated at $50 million. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2024.
COLUMBIA, MO. — A joint venture between Reinhardt Construction LLC and S. M. Wilson & Co. will serve as the construction manager at risk for Columbia Pacific Schools’ bond program aimed to improve and expand the district’s facilities. Over the coming year, Reinhardt/Wilson and the architect team, DLR Group and SOA, will provide pre-construction and design services, respectively. The firms will work to maximize the budget, establish plans for various projects and hire project teams. Plans call for renovations and new construction at the Columbia Area Career Center, an addition at Battle Elementary School and construction of a new elementary school next to the John Warner Middle School. Construction is expected to begin in late 2023 or early 2024. Funding for these projects comes from a no-tax-rate-increase bond referendum, which was approved by voters in April 2022. Columbia is located about 30 miles north of Jefferson City.
LOS ANGELES — Reuben Brothers, a private equity and real estate investment firm, has completed the development of Century Plaza, a $2.5 billion mixed-use project in the Century City area of Los Angeles. Sales and marketing of the development’s two 44-story residential towers totaling 268 for-sale residences will commence this fall. Designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the buildings offer residential amenities such as a pool, business center, outdoor dining spaces, a dog park and a children’s playroom. Century Plaza also features the reimagined Fairmont Century Plaza hotel, which comprises 400 guestrooms and 85 suites, as well as amenities such as a pool, spa and a fitness center. The hotel also houses multiple food-and-beverage options. The development’s retail component, The Shops at Century Plazas, consists of 100,000 square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment space. This piece of the development also includes a landscaped promenade and public green spaces with art installations. MIAMI — Avison Young has brokered the $38 million sale of a 7.9-acre multifamily development site located at 1556 110th Ave. in Miami. The site is approved for a 690-unit, 10-story project, dubbed Dolphin Square. David Duckworth, Michael Fay, John Crotty, Brian de la Fé and Wayne Schuchts of Avison Young arranged the transaction on behalf of the seller, Boca Raton, Fla.-based Procacci Development Corp. Leo A Daly designed the current site plan for the project, which is located near Dolphin Mall.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Locally based general contractor KWA Construction has topped out The Settler Apartments, a 362-unit multifamily project in Fort Worth. Designed by Hensley Lamkin Rachel and developed by Toll Brothers, Settler Apartments will be a four-story structure that will wrap around a five-story precast parking garage. Units will come in one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. Amenities will include a pool, fitness center, outdoor grilling and dining stations, clubroom, dog run and a conference center. Full completion is slated for this fall.
ANF Completes Construction of 212-Unit Eden West Multifamily Community in Tamarac, Florida

TAMARAC, FLA. — ANF Group has completed the construction of Eden West, a 212-unit multifamily community in Tamarac. The firm completed the construction on behalf of the developers, EDEN Multifamily and Sterling Equities. Located at 8601 West McNab Road, the property features apartments in one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, ranging from 598 to 1,388 square feet. Amenities at the community include a saltwater pool, fitness center, club room, veranda with an outdoor kitchen, game room and coworking spaces. The property also includes 300 parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations.
