NEWNAN, GA. — Batson-Cook Development Co. (BCDC) has partnered with Ackerman Medical to develop Newnan Centre for Health, a 25-acre, 250,000-square-foot medical office outpatient campus in Newnan. Located on Lower Fayetteville Road, the building will bring state-of-the-art Class A office space to the area for physician groups and healthcare providers. Newnan Centre for Health is situated between Cancer Treatment Centers of America, which is undergoing a $48 million expansion, and the 362,000-square-foot, 136-bed Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

DYER, IND. — Construction has begun on the Claremont of Dyer, a medical resort development in northwest Indiana. The 82,108-square-foot property, located at 1532 Calumet Ave. in Dyer, will include 130-units. The facility will provide short-term rehabilitation and therapy in a hotel-like setting. Carmel, Ind.-based Mainstreet is developing the project and Illinois-based Symphony Post Acute Network will operate the facility. The project is expected to create approximately 300 construction jobs and up to 115 part-time and full-time facility jobs. Construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015.
MINNEAPOLIS — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the $1.4 million sale of Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Clinic, a 7,990-square-foot, net-leased property in Minneapolis. The facility, located at 4310 Nicollet Ave., is situated on nearly a half acre. Gino Lollio and Scott Niedergang of Marcus & Millichap’s Chicago downtown office represented the seller, an individual/personal trust. Brian Munn and James Rea of Marcus & Millichap’s Atlanta office represented the buyer, a private investor. Dan Linnell of Marcus & Millichap’s Minneapolis office assisted in closing the transaction.
DAYTON, OHIO — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the $4.1 million sale of three dialysis centers totaling 35,670 square feet. Dialysis Centers of Dayton occupies two of the three buildings; one as the sole tenant and the other as co-tenant along with Renal Physicians Inc. DaVita Dialysis anchors the third facility with Renal Physicians Inc. occupying the remaining space. The anchor tenants, DaVita Dialysis and Dialysis Centers of Dayton (Miami Valley Hospital), each have more than nine years remaining on their leases along with two, five-year renewal options. Gino Lollio, Christopher Mitchel and Scott Niedergang of Marcus & Millichap’s national healthcare real estate group represented the seller, Premier Health Partners, a medical network of five hospitals and two major health centers in the Dayton region, including Miami Valley Hospital. The Marcus & Millichap team also represented the buyer, a private healthcare-focused real estate fund. Michael Glass of Marcus & Millichap’s Ohio office also assisted in the transaction.
DUNN, N.C. — Flagship Healthcare Real Estate Fund has acquired Harnett Health Medical Park, an 18,623-square-foot medical office building in Dunn, about 40 miles south of Raleigh. The property is located at 803 Tilghman Drive and is adjacent to Harnett Health’s 101-bed Betsy Johnson Hospital. Built in 2012, the medical office building is fully leased to Harnett Health with tenants including Dunn Medical Services, WakeMed Cardiology and Harnett Health’s Wound Center.
CHICAGO — Reed Construction will complete the renovation of a new simulation lab for Rush University Medical Center in Chicago this August. The property is located at 1717 W. Congress Parkway. The project for Rush University Medical Center will feature the renovation of the existing space to create a new, cutting-edge simulation lab. Simulation labs are learning environments designed to bridge theory and practice in a safe, interactive educational setting. The 8,200 square foot build-out will include the addition of multiple labs, control rooms, debriefing rooms and the associated infrastructure. Scott Pickands, Reed Construction’s executive vice president and project executive, will lead the construction team. Proteus Group is providing architectural services for the project. Rush is a nonprofit healthcare, education and research enterprise comprised of Rush University Medical Center, Rush University, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Health. Rush University Medical Center encompasses a 664-bed hospital serving adults and children.
BURLINGTON, MASS. — Suffolk Construction has been selected to perform preconstruction and construction management service for the first phase of the Stilts Infill Master Plan for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington. Situated on the academic medical center’s campus, the $60 million project will consist of a 190,000-square-foot addition featuring a new emergency department, shell space and mechanical areas to infill the existing Stilts structure and tie together Lahey’s clinical facility. Construction is slated to begin this fall with completion slated for 2017. Suffolk has partnered with architect firm Freeman White on the project, which has been designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS — Brasfield & Gorrie has completed the $120 million Resolute Health hospital in New Braunfels. The hospital spans 364,000 square feet in four stories, including 22 emergency exam rooms, trauma rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units and neonatal care rooms. Construction started in June 2012. The hospital sits on a 56-acre well campus that also will include community centers, green spaces, retail shops, restaurants, a fitness center and day spa.
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA. — Skanska USA has signed a $47 million contract to renovate and expand the Broward Health North Campus in Deerfield Beach. The project will include a 34,444-square-foot emergency department with trauma bays, operating rooms, more than 50 new examination rooms and a new 22,604-square-foot energy plant. Skanska will begin construction on the project in August, and the entire project is slated for a summer 2016 completion.
HOUSTON — CNL Healthcare Properties has purchased the Houston Orthopedic & Spine Hospital campus for $76 million. The Class A health campus includes a 126,946-square-foot specialty hospital; a 99,768-square-foot medical office building; and two parking structures. This purchase is CNL’s largest single-property investment in its portfolio. The hospital campus was completed in 2007 and is located at the intersection of Interstates 69 and 610. The hospital includes 64 private beds, 10 operating suites and various imaging services. Lincoln Harris CSG will provide on-site leasing and management services.
