FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Rockefeller Group will develop a four-story, 100,000-square-foot medical office building for Summit Medical Group. The property is located at The Green on 140 Park Ave. in Florham Park. Summit Medical Group has signed a 15-year lease for the entire 268-acre, master-planned development. Marc Rosenberg, Cushman & Wakefield vice chairman, and Karen Graham, COO at Summit Medical Group, represented Summit Medical Group. The Rockefeller Group was self-represented by Clark Machmer, vice president, and Johanna Chervak, associate director, in the transaction.

MILWAUKEE — Irgens, a Milwaukee-based developer, has sold its portfolio of six medical office properties, located throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Arizona, for $46.5 million. Toby Scrivner, Jeff Matulis and Daniel Herrold of Stan Johnson Co. represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was an institutional REIT out of New York. The properties within the portfolio were all triple-net leased to market dominant hospital systems with more than 10 years remaining on their leases.

GRAND BLANC, MICH. — Ciena Healthcare has opened Regency at Grand Blanc, a skilled nursing center located at 1330 Grand Pointe Court in Grand Blanc Township, about 10 miles south of Flint. The $10 million, 68,000-square-foot seniors housing property features 94 short-term and long-term care suites and includes 50 private suites. The new facility is expected to create more than 150 full- and part-time jobs.

OWENSBORO, KY. — The new Owensboro Health Regional Hospital has opened its doors. The 780,000-square-foot hospital sits on 162 acres on Owensboro’s east side at 1201 Pleasant Valley Road. The hospital features a nine-story patient tower and a three-story diagnostic and testing building that houses the emergency department, maternity services, surgery and supporting areas. The hospital features patient rooms one-third larger than the hospital it replaces as well as nurse work areas outside each patient room. The construction team included project manager KLMK Group, architect HGA and construction manager Turner Construction.

MARBLE FALLS, TEXAS — The Scott & White Specialty Clinic-Marble Falls, a 66,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB) in Marble Falls, has opened for business. Scott & White Healthcare partnered with the Dallas office of Duke Realty to develop the three-story medical office building, which is located on the campus of a planned 46-bed hospital in Marble Falls. The MOB will house multiple primary care and specialty and diagnostic clinics. Duke Realty Limited Partnership owns the property. The project team includes architect Jacobs Engineering Group and general contractor DPR Construction.

PEWAUKEE, WIS. — ProHealth Care has announced plans to build a new $70 million cancer center in Pewaukee on a 14-acre site along Pewaukee Road, about 20 miles west of Milwaukee. The 116,000-square-foot cancer center will be the hub of ProHealth’s cancer program and include a variety of services from diagnosis and treatment to support and survivorship services. The health system will be seeking community support to help cover part of the cost of the project, according to a statement released by Waukesha, Wis.-based ProHealth. Construction on the center is slated for this fall, with an opening in January 2015. The health system will continue to operate cancer centers at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and the D. N. Greenwald Center in Mukwonago. The outpatient cancer services on the Waukesha Memorial Hospital campus will relocate to the new cancer center.

HOUSTON — Medistar has retained Moody Rambin as the exclusive property management and leasing agent for the 17-story River Oaks Medical Tower, a 139,827-square-foot medical office tower located in Houston. The property is located at 4126 S.W. Freeway in Houston's Greenway Plaza submarket. The property offers medical suites ranging from 1,500 to 8,000 square feet, with approximately 70,799 square feet available for lease. The property recently underwent a multi-million dollar exterior and interior renovation. Walter Cameron of Moody Rambin will oversee property management, and Kurt Kistler and Bob Cromwell of Moody Rambin will handle the leasing assignment.

FORT HOOD, TEXAS — The Balfour Beatty | McCarthy team has topped off its design-build services for the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Replacement at Fort Hood. The $536 million medical center replacement is the largest project to date funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The 947,000-square-foot project is also the largest design-build project in the Department of Defense's medical construction. The new hospital will replace the existing Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and will provide healthcare services for service members and their families. The project sits on a 72-acre site and will include a six-story hospital tower, two two-story outpatient clinics, a three-story outpatient clinic, ambulance garage, logistics building, central utility plant and three parking structures. The Balfour Beatty | McCarthy team held a topping off ceremony with members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Health Facilities Planning Agency and Medical Command. Construction is scheduled for completion in July 2014, with operations to start in summer 2015.

CARMICHAEL, CALIF. — St. George Medical Center, a multi-tenant medical office building in Carmichael, has sold to Dylan Investment Properties for an undisclosed sum. The 52,677-square-foot building sits adjacent to the 370-bed Mercy San Juan Medical Center just northeast of Sacramento. St. George underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2007, while Mercy San Juan recently executed a $125-million expansion. Dylan Investment was represented by Evan Kovac of NGKF Capital Markets. The seller was SA Challenger.
