MARIETTA, GA. — Lori Schneider of Marcus & Millichap’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office represented both parties in the sale of the 81,102-square-foot Marietta Park for $15.3 million. The medical office building was built in 2000 and is located at 780 Canton Rd. in Marietta. HCA, a hospital operator, occupies most of the property. The parties involved in the transaction were not disclosed.

DES PLAINES, ILL. — On behalf of the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, Skokie, Ill.-based The Missner Group has completed a 60,000-square-foot medical office building located at 900 East Rand Road in Des Plaines. The Illinois Bone & Joint Institute will occupy approximately 27,000 square feet of the three-story building, with the remaining space available for lease. The Missner Group has also completed the interior build-out for the institute, which includes offices, examination rooms, MRI facilities, X-ray facilities and related medical support. Situated on the first floor of the building is a 7,889-square-foot MRI suite with a state-of the-art mechanical and electrical system, as well as treatment and physical therapy rooms, and an occupational therapy and physical fitness area. The second floor of the office features a 19,349-square-foot clinic suite with 32 exam rooms, four X-ray rooms and five conference rooms. Glen Missner of The Missner Group was the executive for the project; Stephen Rankin Associates provided architectural services. Larry Debb and John Kosich of GVA Williams were the co-developers for the project, and are serving as the owners’ representatives.

FORT MYERS, FLA. — Fort Myers-based J.L. Wallace has completed the 30,000-square-foot Park Center medical office complex. The two-building property is located at 8255 and 8267 College Parkway in Fort Myers. Advance Pain Management and Spine Specialist, Southwest Florida Oral and Facial Surgery Center and Center for Surgical Procedures are tenants in the property. Fred Barry, Dennis Tyeryar and Robbyn Spears formed the J.L. Wallace construction team.

WASHINGTON, MO. — St. Louis-based design/build firm Paric Corp. has topped out its expansion of Patients First Health Care located in Washington. The $30.4 million expansion will add 109,000 square feet in two, three-story wings to the existing 85,000-square-foot building. With the exterior wall components currently being placed, closing of the building is expected within the next few months. Grading, utility relocation and foundations have been completed on the three-story parking structure, which will provide spaces for approximately 675 cars. Upon completion of the project by the end of the summer, the campus will include an ambulatory surgery center; a cancer treatment center that will provide medical oncology, radiation oncology and infusion therapy; additional physician offices; and expanded retail space and meeting rooms. Lawrence Group completed the design for the project, and Bank of Washington is providing construction financing.

REYNOLDSBURG, OHIO — Columbus, Ohio-based Alterra Real Estate Advisors has brokered the sale of a medical office building located at 6895 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg. The 9,084-square-foot building is fully occupied by Mt. Carmel’s National Road Family Health. Dr. Viet Le has purchased the facility from 36 Fiesta Lane LLC for $1.4 million. Financing for the acquisition was provided by U.S. Bank. Brad Kitchen of Alterra represented the seller; George Packer of CRES Realty Inc. represented the buyer in the transaction.

KERMIT, TEXAS — Construction is complete for the new Winkler County Memorial Hospital, located in Kermit. The approximately $13.2 million project included the construction of a new hospital on top of the original hospital, which was constructed in the late 1940s. The new 34,000-square-foot hospital includes 27,400 square feet of new space and 6,600 square feet of renovated space from the original hospital. The facility includes an 10 patient rooms, comprising nine semi-private rooms and one isolation room, as well as an emergency department. The renovated space will be used for support functions such as administration, maintenance and physical therapy. The project was designed by Arlington, Texas-based Ascension Group Architects and constructed by Dallas-based Skiles Group. The Brentwood, Tenn., and Louisville,, Ky., offices of Parsons served as program manager for Winkler County.

SAN DIEGO — Sharp HealthCare, a not-for-profit integrated regional healthcare delivery system, has selected Grubb & Ellis to provide property management services for two owned and three leased properties in the San Diego area. The 500,000-square-foot portfolio includes the 190,000-square-foot 8695 Spectrum Center Blvd.; the 95,000-square-foot 5525 Grossmont Center Dr. in La Mesa; 150,000 square feet of space at 4000 Ruffin Rd; 54,000 square feet of space at 3571 and 3572 Corporate Court; and 10,000 square feet of space at 3558 Ruffin Rd. Additionally, Grubb & Ellis will provide lease administration services for 80 Sharp HealthCare leaseholds throughout San Diego County. Glenn Fibiger, portfolio manager with Grubb & Ellis’ Western Region in the company’s Poway, Calif., office, will lead the property management.

PEORIA, ILL. — The Methodist Medical Center of Illinois (MMCI) has selected Chicago-based Lillibridge to serve as project manager for a $350 million restoration of its campus, which is located in Peoria. Plans for the project include a 180-bed hospital addition, a community pavilion and a parking deck with a covered skywalk. The seven-story hospital addition has been designed to achieve LEED certification. In addition to providing private patient beds, the 480,000-square-foot building will house the Methodist Cardiology Group, the imaging department, the emergency department, and a floor that is dedicated to surgical services. Construction of the addition is scheduled to begin in early 2010, with completion slated for late 2012. The four-story pavilion will be constructed on the north end of the hospital. Measuring 80,000 square feet in size, the pavilion will house MMCI’s administrative offices, the center’s food service department, a conference center and a series of community education rooms that will be available for public use. Finally, the six-level parking deck, which is currently underway, will be attached to the hospital by a new covered skywalk. The parking deck is scheduled for completion this summer.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO — Gregory West of Colliers Ostendorf-Morris has brokered the sale of Middleburg Heights Med Arts buildings One and Two, which are located at 18660 E. Bagley Rd. in Middleburg Heights. Buildings One and Two total approximately 65,000 square feet, and were opened in 1977 and 1984, respectively. Fairlawn, Ohio-based Crescendo Commercial Realty purchased the buildings from Middleburg Heights Medical Arts Center Ltd. for $4.1 million.

NORFOLK, VA. — Lauth has secured $70 million in financing for the 195,890-square-foot Fort Norfolk Plaza and is eyeing an April 2010 completion date for the healthcare project. Located on Brambleton Avenue in Norfolk, the project is a joint venture partnership between Lauth and Dr. Keith H. Newby, Sr. Tenants in the building include Sentara Medical Group, which is leasing 65,000 square feet, and Dr. Newby’s Cardiology Arrhythmia Consultants, which will occupy 22,000 square feet. The property will be connected to a 904-space parking deck. Financing comes from the New Markets Tax Credit program, Bank of America and SunTrust.
