HOUMA, LA. — K Partners Hospitality Group of San Antonio has begun construction on the 144-room Courtyard by Marriott Houma. The $22 million development will be located adjacent to the 100,000-square-foot Houma Civic Center. Hotel features include 7,000 square feet of meeting space, a swimming pool, an exercise room and a business center.

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — The Overton Hotel and Conference Center, a 303-room hotel located in Lubbock, has opened. The $66 million project was developed as a public/private partnership between the City of Lubbock, owner/operator 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd. and developer Garfield Traub Development. It totals 15 stories and contains more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 11,250-square-foot ballroom. Amenities include a business center, a fitness center, a restaurant, a bar and an outdoor pool. The second floor of the hotel also contains a classroom for the Restaurant/Hotel & Institutional Management program at nearby Texas Tech University. The general contractors for the project were Turner Construction Co. and Lee Lewis Contractors. The project architect was DLR Group.

PLAINFIELD, IND. — The new Best Western Atrea Airport Inn & Suites has opened in Plainfield. The hotel contains 67 rooms and features more than 700 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool and spa, a steam room, a business center, a 24-hour fitness center and a cocktail lounge. The new hotel marks the third Best Western Atrea prototype to open. The concept caters to business travelers seeking an upper midscale hotel.

NEW YORK CITY — Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick Goldman has arranged a $43 million loan for the refinancing of the Courtyard Marriott Manhattan/Midtown East in New York City. Situated on Third Avenue between 52nd and 53rd streets. the hotel contains 312 rooms and was constructed in 1998. Mark Gordon, Jared Kelso and Alison Tan of Sonnenblick Goldman represented the borrower, DiamondRock Hospitality Co. Terms of the loan and the lender were undisclosed.

DALLAS — Atlanta-based InterContinental Hotels Group is nearing completion for the new Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown. Located at 1015 Elm St., the project consists of the $14 million conversion of the former Hampton Inn Dallas – West End – Convention Center. As part of the project, all 300 rooms were renovated, more than 22,000 square feet of new meeting space was added, the TEN15 Elm restaurant was built and a new nightclub named THRIVE was added. Existing amenities at the hotel include a business center, a fitness center, and a ninth-floor, rooftop pool for the 23-story hotel. Completion is expected at the end of the month. The hotel is the fifth Crowne Plaza in the Dallas area.

MACON, GA. — Noble Investment Group has completed construction of the 220-room Macon Marriott City Center Hotel, located on Coliseum Drive in Macon. The hotel is connected to the Macon Centreplex, which features 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Each room in the hotel is outfitted with a flat-panel television, a desk and an ergonomic chair. Additional amenities include a health club and an indoor pool.

NOBLESVILLE, IND. — Ceres Enterprises has held the grand opening for the new Cambria Suites in Noblesville. The hotel features 132 suites and three meeting rooms with more than 3,000 square feet of space. Amenities include a restaurant, a fitness center with an indoor swimming pool and a spa, and a 24-hour convenience store. The hotel is also within walking distance to the Verizon Wireless Music Center and the Hamilton Town Center shopping center. Ceres owns and operates the hotel under a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels International.

CANONSBURG, PA. — A new Homewood Suites hotel has opened in Canonsburg. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh-Southpointe is a five-story hotel situated within Southpointe II Business Park at 3000 Horizon Vue Dr. It features 113 suites in a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Amenities include a business center, an indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, a 24-hour pantry and 1,300 square feet of flexible meeting space. The hotel is owned by Southpointe II Hotel Associates under a licensing agreement with Hilton Hotels Corp. It is managed by Buffalo Lodging Associates.

LINCOLN, NEB. — A joint venture between Omaha, Neb.-based Dial Realty Corp. and Kinseth Hospitality Corp. has opened the Hampton Inn & Suites – Northeast I-80 in Lincoln. The four-story, 83-room hotel is located within the Salt Creek Center development at the interchange of Interstate 80 and North 27th Street. It features meeting space, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a business center. Kinseth is operating the hotel under a franchise agreement with Hilton Hotels Corp.
