NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Retail Business Services has broken ground on a 200,000-square-foot protein packaging and distribution facility in North Kingstown. Infinity Meat Solutions will occupy the facility, where it will handle beef, pork and prepared meats. Cargill Protein will manage the site’s operations and workforce. The facility is expected to bring approximately 700 jobs to North Kingstown.

FRISCO, TEXAS — The Jenkins Organization, a Houston-based self-storage owner, developer and manager, has opened Frisco Self Storage, an 815-unit facility located on the northern outskirts of Dallas. The 90,250-square-foot property features both climate- and non-climate-controlled space, as well as wine storage. The official opening was held in late September.
HOUSTON — The LeClaire Group, a division of Marcus & Millichap specializing in self-storage properties, has brokered the sale of Nations Storage, a 516-unit facility located in northwest Houston. The 64,280-square-foot property features climate- and non-climate-controlled space. Dave Knobler and Charles LeClaire of The LeClaire Group represented the seller in the transaction. Other terms of sale were not disclosed.
SPRING, TEXAS — NAI Partners has negotiated a 35,000-square-foot industrial lease at 27347 W. Hardy Road in the northern Houston suburb of Spring. Darren O’Conor of NAI Partners represented the tenant, Installed Building Products of Houston LLC, in the lease negotiations. James Schuepbach and Lisa Nickel of Ryoak Real Estate Group represented the landlord, Giddy Up Development LLC.
PLANO, TEXAS — Bob Moore Construction has begun work on a 55,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Plano for Signazon, an online retailer and supplier of signs, banners and marketing materials. The property includes an unspecified amount of office space. GFF Architecture designed the tilt-wall project, which is expected to be complete by early 2019.
MELVILLE, N.Y. — CBRE has brokered the $54.5 million sale of a flex facility in Melville on Long Island. Located at 235 Pinelawn Road, the 48-acre site is the former headquarters, newspaper production and distribution center of Newsday. CBRE represented the seller, Tribune Real Estate Holdings, in the transaction. The buyer was New Jersey-based real estate owner/developer Hartz Mountain, which plans to build an 800,000-square-foot high-bay logistics space on the property.
INKSTER, MICH. — Friedman Real Estate has arranged the sale of a 28,900-square-foot industrial building in Inkster, about 20 miles west of Detroit. The sales price was not disclosed. The property is located at 3000 Middlebelt Road. Phil Konopitski of Friedman represented the buyer, Abdul Saleh. Kodiak Properties was the seller. Tenants were not disclosed.
BROOMFIELD, COLO. — Newmark Knight Frank has brokered the sale of an office building located at 370 Interlocken Blvd. in Broomfield. RREF III-P Interlocken LLC sold the property to IPXI Interlocken Investors LLC for $29 million. The property features 150,656 square feet of office space. John Jugl and Paul Donahue of Newmark Knight Frank represented the seller, while CBRE represented the buyer in the deal.
HARTFORD, CONN. — The Hampshire Cos. Has acquired a 106,500-square-foot self-storage facility in Hartford. The sales price was undisclosed. The property is located at 1407 Park St. in the Parkville neighborhood of Hartford. After acquiring the facility, the Hampshire Cos. completed renovations and capital improvements to the property that included a new elevator, roof, floor and façade repairs as well as upgraded security and fire/life safety systems. Self-storage REIT Extra Space Storage has been selected to manage the new location.
Berkeley Partners Acquires Three-Building Industrial Portfolio in Broward County for $15M

POMPANO BEACH, FLA. — Berkeley Partners, an industrial real estate operator and investment manager, has purchased three buildings within Park Central Business Park, an industrial campus located in Pompano Beach. An undisclosed seller sold the portfolio in Broward County for $15 million. Douglas Mande of Institutional Property Advisors and Tyler Kuhlman of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller and advised the buyer in the transaction. This transaction is Berkeley’s third acquisition in the market in 2018. At the time of sale, the 114,391-square-foot portfolio was fully occupied. Located between Sample and Copans roads and Interstate 95, the buildings feature clear heights ranging from 16 feet to 28 feet.
