HOUSTON — General contractor Arch-Con Construction has broken ground on DCT Airtex Industrial Center, a 267,000-square-foot cross-dock distribution center located in Houston. DCT Industrial Trust is the project's developer and Long Beach, Calif.-based Carlile Coatsworth Architects is the project's architect. Arch-Con is slated to complete construction in the third quarter of 2013.

LIVERMORE, CALIF. — The former JE Higgins Lumber facility in Livermore has sold to Mission Trading Company for $5.1 million. The71,680-square-foot facility is located at 6951 Southfront Road. Mission Trading Company was represented by Mike Smith of Lee & Associates. The seller, Douglas P. Wilson Company, acted as the court-approved receiver and was represented by Michael Donnelly, Michael Carrigg and Michael Lloyd of Colliers International.

ATLANTA — Central Pipe & Supply has acquired a 195,000-square-foot industrial building at 4335 Wendell Drive in west Atlanta. The company will relocate its Doraville, Ga., headquarters to the new facility. The two-story property, formerly the headquarters of Printpack, features more than 140,000 square feet of warehouse space and 55,000 square feet of office space. Denton Shamburger of Lincoln Property Co. Southeast represented the seller, Printpack, in the transaction. Ed Riggins of Cresa Atlanta represented the buyer.

SAN FRANCISCO – Prologis has closed on Prologis European Logistics Partners Sarl (PELP), a $3.1-billionjoint venture withNorges Bank Investment Management(NBIM), manager of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global. The venture acquired 195 Class A logistics facilities that were wholly owned byPrologis and totaled 49 million square feet. PELP is a 50-50 partnership with an equity commitment of €2.4 billion, which includes a $1.55 billionco-investment by both NBIM andPrologis.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Valley Forge Fabrics has acquired a 76,000-square-foot industrial building, located at 1650 W. McNab Road in Fort Lauderdale, for $1.9 million, or $25.33 per square foot. 1650 West McNab Road Holdings LLC was the seller. Les Byron Associates developed the property in 1975. Les Byron of Sperry Van Ness Commercial Realty represented the buyer in the transaction. The building previously sold for $5.2 million. “Over the years, the market has changed and the building became challenged due to its size and configuration,” says Byron. “The buyer will invest in considerable renovations and upgrades.”
