EXETER BUYS 290,000 SF INDUSTRIAL BUILDING IN PA

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA. — Exeter Property Group has purchased 1499 Zeager Rd., a 290,000-square-foot industrial building in Elizabethtown. Prior to the sale, the former single-user facility had been converted to multi-tenant use. The building is approximately 50 percent occupied by companies in the pet pharmaceutical industry, such as Butler Schein Animal Health. Gerard Blinebury, Leah Balerno and Pat McBride of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller in the transaction. Exeter was represented in-house.

BUILDING SUPPLY COMPANY TO ADD 30,000 SF INDUSTRIAL FACILITY IN MISSOURI

SPRINGFIELD, MO. — Arrowhead Building Supply Inc. plans to invest $3 million to construct a 30,000-square-foot industrial facility in Springfield. Arrowhead, a distributor and wholesaler of exterior building supplies and materials, will add 10 new jobs to its local workforce. In addition to the new Springfield location, the company has a 26,000-square-foot facility in Hollister and two locations in the St. Louis region. The family-owned company has qualified for $276,955 in state and local benefits through the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the City of Springfield's Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax incentive program.

DIK DRUG CO. EXTENDS WOODRIDGE LEASE

WOODRIDGE, ILL. — Dik Drug Co. has extended its lease for 28,436 square feet at 2145 Internationale Parkway in Woodridge. Dik Drug is a regional distributor of more than 20,000 pharmaceutical products to independent pharmacies. The Chicago-based company first leased the Woodbridge warehouse facility in 2009. John Whitehead of NAI Hiffman represented the tenant in the transaction. Tim Thompson of HSA represented the landlord, IIT.

HAMPSHIRE COS. SELLS 299,625 SF INDUSTRIAL BUILDING

CARTERET, N.J. — The Hampshire Cos. has sold a 299,625-square-foot industrial building at 2-8 Germak Dr. in Carteret to A.J. Richard & Sons. The building is situated on more than 15 acres in one of New Jersey's prime distribution markets, offering access to the Port of New York/New Jersey and Newark Liberty International Airport. The Hampshire Cos. acquired the property in 2008, fully leasing it to A.J. Richard & Sons, a family-owned appliance and electronics company. Cassidy Turley represented The Hampshire Cos. in the transaction. Studley represented the buyer.

QUEEN CREEK MANUFACTURING BUILDING SELLS FOR $1.1M

QUEEN CREEK, ARIZ. — A 16,615-square-foot industrial manufacturing building located at 21775 E. McCowan Lane in Queen Creek has sold to Ranchland Holdings I, LLC for $1.1 million. The one-story building was constructed in 2004 and contains 13,114 square feet of warehouse and 3,500 square feet of office space. Ranchland Holdings was represented in-house, while the seller, MidFirst Bank, was represented by TJ Swearengin and Matt McDougall of Lee & Associates.

The property is located at the 325,000-square-foot 1601 Wicomico Street, a recently redeveloped industrial property. McLane Fisher and Ned Brady of Cushman & Wakefield of Maryland represented the tenant in the lease transaction. 1601 Wicomico LLC is the landlord.

NEW WATER TREATMENT PLANT TO OPEN IN ILLINOIS BY 2013

STAUNTON, ILL. — Kaiser Electric is constructing its portion of an $8 million water treatment plant in Staunton, which is slated for completion in February 2013. The facility is located at 935 N. Easton St., about 25 miles north of downtown St. Louis. About 80 percent of the Staunton Water Treatment Plant will be located underground, with major structures and piping out of view. Kaiser Electric's crews are installing electrical service for the plant and installing two standby generators. Korte & Luitjohan Contractors is the general contractor for the project and Heneghan & Associates is the architect and engineer.
