BROOKINGS, S.D. — Chicago-based Bel Brands USA — the maker of Laughing Cow, Mini Baybel and Boursin Cheese — plans to build a new 170,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Brookings. The $100 million facility will employ more than 200 workers once the plant becomes fully operational in 2014. The company plans to break ground this summer on a 42-acre land parcel along 32 Avenue, near the I-29 cooridor. The facility will be used to produce Bel Brands' Mini Baybel cheese. Dan Maslauski, Brian Chernett, Ann Woessner-Collins, Kris Bjorson, Dan McGillicuddy and Rich Thompsen of Jones Lang LaSalle assisted Bel Brands in the site selection process.

ENFIELD, CONN. — Diversified Information Technologies has acquired 180 Moody Rd. in Enfield for $2.2 million. The property consists of 166,000 square feet of industrial/warehouse space situated on 15 acres. Keith Kumnick and Stephanie Pious of Colliers International represented the seller, Mead Westvaco, in the transaction. Sean Duffy, Damon Bowers and Tim D'Addabbo of Cushman & Wakefield represented the buyer.

SUWANEE, GA. — IDI has commenced construction on the 559,407-square-foot, build-to-suit Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating headquarters, located in Huntcrest Business Center at 1340 Satellite Blvd. in Suwanee. The company will consolidate its current 350,000-square-foot footprint across three buildings to the facility. The property will be the corporate headquarters for Mitsubishi Electric's cooling and heating division and will include office and professional training space, as well as nearly half a million square feet of warehouse space. The company will move into the space in February 2013. Alan Clayton of Jones Lang LaSalle's Atlanta office represented the tenant in the lease transaction and the landlord was self-represented by Lisa Ward of IDI's Atlanta office.

NEWBURGH, N.Y. — Two industrial leases totaling 165,000 square feet have been signed at the Northeast Business Center in Newburgh. Preferred Fragrances, a women's perfume importer, moved this month from its Mountainville, N.Y. facility to a 105,000-square-foot space at 1900 Corporate Blvd. Existing tenant Kraft Foods has renewed its lease for 5 years and expanded its facility to 60,000 square feet at 700 Corporate Blvd. The landlord is National Realty & Development Corp.

MCDONOUGH, GA. — Panattoni Development Co. has been selected by Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products to develop a 900,640-square-foot, build-to-suit distribution center, located at 493 Westridge Rd. in McDonough. Completion is slated for fall 2012. Sean Boswell of Colliers International's Atlanta office represented the tenant in the lease negotiation.

CAMBRIDGE, MD. — A 30,240-square-foot flex industrial building, located at 828 Fieldcrest Dr. in Cambridge, has been sold for $1.5 million. ABC Supply Co. formerly leased the building. Henry Hanna of Salisbury, Md.-based Sperry Van Ness-Miller Commercial Real Estate, represented the seller, the Maryland Economic Development Corp., in the transaction. The buyer was Triple Ventures.

ARCADIA, FLA. — A 41,242-square-foot industrial building, located at 6018 SW Hwy. 72 in Arcadia, has been sold for $2.25 million. Gary Tasman and Shawn Stoneburner of Fort Myers, Fla.-based Cushman & Wakefield, Commercial Property Southwest Florida, represented Banc of America Leasing, the seller, in the transaction. Mark Mizell of Mulberry, Fla.-based Land South Realty represented the buyer, Cumberland and Western, which will use the property to manufacture roofing tile.

MIAMI — Avnet has signed a 103,131-square-foot lease renewal at Beacon at 97th, an industrial property located at 2011 NW 97th Ave. in Miami. Carol Ellis-Cutler of Colliers International's Miami office represented the tenant in the lease transaction. Brian Smith of Cushman & Wakefield's Miami office represented KTR Capital Partners, the landlord.
