DALLAS — General Datatech, L.P. (GDT), a routing, communications and security solutions business, has moved its customer support center into a 50-year-old, renovated, 95,300-square-foot building located at 999 Metromedia Pl., near the intersection of West Mockingbird Lane and Interstate 35, in Dallas' Stemmons corridor. Situated on 6 acres, the space includes 65,300 square feet of renovated space and 30,000 square feet of newly built warehouse and staging facilities. Edwin Brantley Smith & Associates, Inc., served as the project architect. The building is anticipated for LEED Gold certification.

MACOMB, MICH. — A 27,610-square-foot industrial facility, located a 24700 Wood Court in Macomb, has sold for an undisclosed price to Cox Industries. Cox is doubling in size and expanding from its Chesterfield Township, Mich., facility. Joe DePonio and Jason Capitani of Troy, Mich.-based L. Mason Capitani CORFAC International represented the buyer and the seller.

EL CAJON, CALIF. — Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial has brokered the $2.5 million sale of a 44,424-square-foot industrial building located at 165 Denny Way in El Cajon. Originally built in 1986 as Valley Bowl, the facility was purchased in lieu of foreclosure with Independence Bank. Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial’s Ken Ruppert, Kerry Schimpf and Cameron Czubernat represented the seller, IBARC LLC, in the transaction, and Erik Wiese of Wiese & Associates represented the buyer, Hormuth Properties. The building has been used as a granite/stone-manufacturing site for the past 10 years.

SANTA CLARITA, CALIF. — Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura has transacted the more than $2 million acquisition of a 20,000-square-foot industrial property located at 24950 Ave. Kearny in the Valencia area of Santa Clarita. A leading provider of Avid Rental Systems to the entertainment industry, QSR Systems purchased the freestanding building, which offered an attractive office build-out, for its own use. Lee & Associates’ Brett Warner represented the buyer in the transaction, and CB Richard Ellis represented the seller, The Realty Associates Fund.

BROOKLYN PARK, MINN. — Diversified Distribution Systems has leased 124,000 square feet at 7401 Boone Ave. in Brooklyn Park. The bulk warehouse building, formerly known as the Wilson's Leather Buliding, is owned by Minot, N.D.-based Investors Real Estate Trust. The landlord was represented by Jason Meyer, Brent Masica and Dan Lofgren of NorthMarq's Minneapolis office. The tenant was represented by Tim Nesvold of Real Estate Advisors' Minneapolis office.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Indiana-based United Investment Group purchased a 24,000-square-foot warehouse in Fort Lauderdale for $2.12 million. The building contains 5,000 square feet of high-end office space and outside storage. There is also a cell tower on the property. The buyer was represented by Koreena Rivers of Fort Lauderdale-based Morris Southeast Group/CORFAC International. The seller, Gra-Mar Realty, was represented by Bruce Nathanson of Keyes Realty's Plantation, Fla., office.

JESSUP, MD. — A 42,000-square-foot industrial and warehouse building, located at 10621 Riggs Hill Rd. in Jessup, has sold for $2.8 million. Jasper Engines and Transmissions purchased the 3.2-acre building, which offers 20 foot ceilings, four loading docks and approximately 2,000 square feet of mezzanine storage space. Allan Riorda of NAI KNLB's Ellicott City, Md., office represented the buyer. The seller, the estate of Kenneth Marshall, was represented by Jonathan Green and Chris Kubler of NAI KNLB's Ellicott City office.

PHILADELPHIA — Construction is complete for the new headquarters and distribution center for Penn Jersey. The 255,336-square-foot building is located on 30 acres at 9355 Blue Grass Road in Philadelphia. A joint venture between Dermody Partners and Great Point Investors developed the project as a build-to-suit for Penn Jersey, which is leasing it for a 15-year term. The building has been submitted for LEED-Silver certification. Blue Rock Construction was the project's general contractor. The CB Richard Ellis team of Steve Marzullo, Patrick Green and Michael Mullen represent Penn Jersey in the lease arrangement.
