CEDAR LAKE, IND. — StorSafe Self Storage has acquired a self-storage facility in Cedar Lake, a city in Northwest Indiana. The purchase price was undisclosed. StorSafe’s portfolio now encompasses 29 facilities totaling more than 1.7 million square feet across Florida, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin. StorSafe is a subsidiary of Elmdale Partners. The Cedar Lake property will offer security, parking, climate-controlled units and varied storage sizes for both personal and business use.

DALLAS — New York-based Sterling Investors has purchased Centreport 2, a 430,852-square-foot industrial building in Dallas. The address was not disclosed, but the cross-dock facility is located south of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in the Upper Great Southwest submarket. Centreport 2 was built in 2017 and features 97 dock doors and 32-foot clear heights. Trent Agnew, Charlie Strauss, Parker McCormack, Tom Weber, Lance Young, Pauli Kerr, Matthew Barge and Brooke Petzold of JLL represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction and procured Sterling Investors as the buyer.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Lee & Associates has arranged a 255,000-square-foot industrial sublease in South Brunswick, about 50 miles south of New York City. According to LoopNet Inc., the 610,949-square-foot property at 301-321 Herrod Blvd. was built on 39.5 acres in 1998 and features a clear height of 27 feet and 119 parking spaces. Drew Maffey, Will Ziegler and Matt Esposito of Lee & Associates represented the subtenant, an undisclosed storage company, in the lease negotiations. Dave Saltzman, also with Lee & Associates, represented the sublandlord, which also requested anonymity.
SCRANTON, PA. — CBRE has brokered the $6.5 million sale of a 108,000-square-foot light industrial complex in Scranton. The development consists of three buildings ranging in size from 27,000 to 40,500 square feet on an 11.8-acre site. Buildings feature clear heights of 19 to 21 feet. Steve Marzullo, Adam Silverman, Michael Hines and Joe Hill of CBRE represented the seller, CEP Family Office LLC, in the transaction. The buyer, an affiliate of Pennsylvania-based Industrial Investments Inc., was represented internally.
GREER, S.C. — OMRON Automation, a global industrial automation solutions provider, plans to expand its operations footprint to Upstate South Carolina with a new manufacturing facility in Greer. The new facility will be located at 311 Genoble Road and will support 162 new jobs. OMRON plans to invest $9.2 million into the operation, which will include the manufacturing of motion controllers and drives, machine vision, barcode readers and verification systems. Meredith O’Connor, Sean Reynolds, Perry Major and John Cashion of JLL represented OMRON in the development and site selection process, which included the evaluation of more than 85 cities across the United States. The size and construction timeline for the Greer facility were not disclosed.
SPRINGFIELD, VA. — Finmarc Management Inc. has sold an 88,000-square-foot warehouse building located at 8000 Grainger Court in Springfield, about 14 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. C2 Imaging, the building’s sole occupant, purchased the facility for $15.9 million. Finmarc originally purchased the property in mid-2022 from Boston Properties Inc. as part of an 11-building portfolio spanning 740,000 square feet. Wendy Feldman Block of Savills represented the buyer in the transaction. Finmarc was self-represented.
ONTARIO, CALIF. — Stream Realty Partners has arranged a 142,556-square-foot industrial lease in Ontario, in the Inland Empire West submarket of California. Commercial glass sourcing business H Global Commerce Inc. will fully occupy 5401 E. Jurupa St. beginning in March. Amenities at the property include a fully secured trucking and storage yard and 52 trailer parking spaces. The freestanding building is scheduled for renovation within the first quarter of this year. LAKE BLUFF, ILL. — DarwinPW Realty/CORFAC International has brokered the sale of an industrial property located at 29870 N. Skokie Highway in Lake Bluff, a northern suburb of Chicago. The property features 26.8 acres of land and three buildings totaling 67,879 square feet. The space is home to functional industrial buildings, trailer parking and industrial outdoor storage. The three buildings are fully leased to 11 tenants. While much of the land is not usable for commercial purposes because of its native wetlands, the seven usable acres have been developed with outdoor storage, including a recently built paved and secure trailer lot. Jake Ehrenberg, Joel Mackintosh and Mike O’Malley of Perry Hill Ventures were the sellers. Matt Lewandowski of DarwinPW represented the buyer, a group of investors.
CENTENNIAL, COLO. — NavPoint Real Estate Group has negotiated the sale of a flex building, located at 7006 S. Alton Way in the Denver suburb of Centennial. Bill & Paulette Weinberger LLC sold the asset to J&K Capital LLC for $2.2 million. The asset, Building B, is a single-story property offering 9,850 square feet of flex space. Matt Kuble and Jordan Burgess of NavPoint Real Estate Group represented the seller, while Trent Rice of Pinnacle Real Estate Advisors represented the buyer in the deal.
GlobalFoundries Plans $11.6B Expansion of Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant in Upstate New York

MALTA, N.Y. — GlobalFoundries (NASDAQ: GFS), a leading semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Upstate New York, plans to invest a total $11.6 billion over the next 10 years to expand its Fab 8 manufacturing base in Malta, a city north of Albany in Saratoga County. The investment includes an expansion of its existing facility and the development of a new 358,000-square-foot plant. GlobalFoundries says the investment will triple its capacity to manufacture semiconductors, with the ultimate goal of producing 1 million semiconductor wafers per year at its Malta campus at full operation. The planned enhancements will create more than 1,500 direct jobs and 9,000 indirect construction jobs over the next 10 years, according to the office of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. Concurrently, GlobalFoundries will receive $1.5 billion in direct funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce as part of the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act, a law ratified by U.S. President Joe Biden in Aug. 2022.
