CORINTH, TEXAS — Karr Self-Storage, a division of Marcus & Millichap, has arranged the sale of Anchor Bay Boat & RV Storage, a 593-unit facility in the North Texas city of Corinth. The property’s net rentable square footage is 71,185 square feet. Brandon Karr of Karr Self-Storage represented the seller, a private investor, in the sale. Karr, Danny Cunningham and Will Parisi of Karr Self-Storage procured the buyer, a Texas-based private investment group.
KENNEDALE, TEXAS — Karr Self-Storage, a division of Marcus & Millichap, has brokered the sale of Kennedale Self Storage, a 324-unit facility in Kennedale, a southeastern suburb of Fort Worth. The drive-up, non-climate-controlled units total 36,810 net rentable square feet. Brandon Karr and Danny Cunningham of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, a private investor who built the property in 1985, in the sale. A Dallas-based self-storage owner/operator purchased the property for an undisclosed price.
FARRAGUT, TENN. — Ziff Properties Inc. has acquired the former U.S. Golf & Tennis Center in Farragut with plans to convert the building into a 65,000-square-foot self-storage facility. The building is located on six acres, roughly 17 miles west of Knoxville. ExtraSpace Storage will manage the facility, which will include climate- and non-climate-controlled units. A construction timeline was not disclosed.
WARREN, R.I. — Sitar Realty Co. has arranged the sale of a 451-unit, climate controlled self-storage facility located at 130 Franklin St. in Warren. The purchase price for the 63,000-square-foot property was $7.4 million. Warren is located approximately 13 miles southeast of Providence. Storage Acquisition Group purchased the property from Warren Self Storage. William Sitar Jr. and John Cranley of Sitar Realty represented the buyer in the transaction.
MAGNOLIA, TEXAS — The Jenkins Organization has opened Magnolia Parkway Storage, a 293-unit self-storage facility in Magnolia, a northwestern suburb of Houston. The property will feature climate- and non-climate-controlled units across 44,933 net rentable square feet and includes boat/RV storage space. The facility, which will be the company’s 23rd in the Houston area, also has the capacity to be expanded. The grand opening was Saturday, April 21.
LEANDER, TEXAS — Bellomy & Co. has arranged the sale of Big & Safe Self Storage, a 482-unit facility in Leander, a northwestern suburb of Austin. Built in 2004 and expanded in 2014, the property features climate- and non-climate-controlled units totaling 60,475 net rentable square feet. Bill Bellomy, Michael Johnson and John Arnold of Bellomy & Co. represented the Vermont-based seller in the transaction. The team also procured the buyer, Montfort Capital Partners, a Dallas-based self-storage investment firm.
MURPHY, TEXAS — The Jenkins Organization, a Houston-based developer and operator of self-storage facilities, will open Murphy Self Storage, a 635-unit facility in Murphy, a northeastern suburb of Dallas. The property will feature both climate- and non climate-controlled units. The grand opening is slated for Saturday, April 21. The Jenkins Organization plans to open three other facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area this year.
WATERFORD, MICH. — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of Secured Self Storage in Waterford, about 35 miles northwest of Detroit. The sales price was not disclosed. The 72,125-square-foot self-storage facility is located at 4303 Highland Road. Built in 1982, the property consists of 20 climate-controlled units and 535 standard units. Brett Hatcher and Gabriel Coe of Marcus & Millichap marketed the property on behalf of the seller, a limited liability company. The team also secured and represented the out-of-state buyer.
CHASKA, MINN. — StorageMart has opened a self-storage facility in the Minneapolis suburb of Chaska. The property contains 544 units and more than 89,000 square feet of rentable space. A variety of storage options include climate-controlled units and drive-through loading bays. Based in Columbia, Mo., StorageMart is privately owned and family operated.
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Public Storage has opened a 900-unit self-storage facility at 10219 Bryton Corporate Center Drive in Huntersville, roughly 15 miles north of Charlotte. The facility is located adjacent to a Walmart Supercenter and Interstate 485. The three-story building offers indoor, climate-controlled units ranging in size from 25 square feet to 300 square feet. Packing, moving and storage supplies are also offered at the location. Glendale, Calif.-based Public Storage is the world’s largest owner and operator of self-storage facilities with 2,386 locations around the country.
