SPRING, TEXAS — The LeClaire Group, a division of Marcus & Millichap, has arranged the sale of AAA Spring Storage, a 673-unit self-storage facility located in the northern Houston metro of Spring. Built in 2005, the property totals 79,778 net rentable square feet and includes 77 rentable outdoor parking spaces and 14 climate lockers. Dave Knobler and Charles LeClaire of The LeClaire Group represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. The buyer was also not released.

SPRING, TEXAS — Bellomy & Co. has arranged the sale of Gleannloch Storage, a 601-unit self-storage facility located in the northern Houston suburb of Spring. The property offers more than 202,500 net rentable square feet and features climate-controlled units and boat/RV storage spaces. Bill Bellomy and Michael Johnson of Bellomy & Co. represented the seller, Gleannloch Storage LLC, in the transaction. The buyer was an undisclosed, out-of-state operator.
HOUSTON — Bellomy & Co. has brokered the sale of Alief Westwood Storage, a 246-unit self-storage facility located about 16 miles southwest of downtown Houston. Situated on 5.3 acres with room for expansion, the property features more than 64,000 net rentable square feet. Bill Bellomy and Michael Johnson of Bellomy & Co. represented the seller, a Houston-based family partnership, in the transaction. The duo also procured the undisclosed, Austin-based buyer.
OAKLAND, CALIF. — Orange County-based Platinum Storage Group is developing Storage Direct Oakland, a self-storage facility in Oakland. With construction is slated to begin immediately, the four-story, 155,000-square-foot property will feature 1,087 self-storage units. Completion is scheduled for July 2019. Platinum’s portfolio comprises 2.5 million square feet of space with a value of approximately $250 million.
LOS GATOS, CALIF — Levin Johnston of Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of two institutional-quality self-storage facilities located at 688 University Ave. and 17443 Farley Road West in Los Gatos within California’s Silicon Valley. A private high-net-worth family acquired the assets for $25 million. Constructed in 1999 and 2005, the Stor’ It Los Gatos facilities feature a total of 785 self-storage units, ranging from 25 square feet to 300 square feet, and in a mix of climate-controlled and standard unit offerings. At the time of sale, the 45,287-square-foot asset was 84 percent occupied. Adam Levin of Levin Johnston and Jacob Becher of Marcus & Millichap represented the buyer and the seller, a private high-net-worth individual, in the deal.
REDDING, CALIF. — Loeffler Self-Storage Group has arranged the sale of All-Preferred Mini-Storage, a self-storage facility located in Redding. The Raudman Family sold the property to a local investor for $4.5 million, or $57.62 per square foot. Situated on 3.9 acres, the 78,095-square-foot facility features 530 storage units and a cellular antenna. The property comprises 13 single-story buildings with asphalt drive aisles, plus a manager’s office and residence. Bobby Loeffler and Tyler Skelly of Loeffler Self-Storage Group represented the seller and buyer in the transaction.
ORANGE, TEXAS — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of Bear Storage, a 321-unit self-storage facility located in Orange, about 30 miles east of Beaumont. The property features 35,830 net rentable square feet, as well as climate-controlled units, RV and boat storage spaces and a truck rental service. Dave Knobler of Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale on behalf of the seller, a limited liability company, and the buyer, a partnership that operates six facilities in the Houston area. Other terms of sale were not released.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. AND MT. PLEASANT, S.C. — Go Store It has broken ground on two new self-storage developments in Asheville and Mt. Pleasant. The Charlotte, N.C-based company specializes in the acquisition, development and management of self-storage assets throughout the country. The project in Asheville will feature more than 600 units and will be fully climate controlled. The development is located in the Woodfin submarket, just north of the city’s downtown. Go Store It owns three existing facilities in Asheville and is underway on another along Hendersonville Road. The self-storage facility in Mt. Pleasant is Go Store It’s third facility in the city and its fifth in the greater Charleston market. Located at the corner of Gregorie Ferry Road and Highway 17 North, the three-story building will be fully climate controlled and will feature more than 400 units. Go Store It’s other Charleston locations include a recently opened facility at Long Point Road, as well as facilities under construction at Johnnie Dodds, Folly Road, Maybank Highway and downtown Charleston. A construction timeline for the new facilities was not disclosed. Go Store It plans to break ground on five more developments this year in Charlotte, Cary, Louisville, Ky., and Fredericksburg, Va.
SAN ANTONIO — Tampa-based SkyView Advisors has brokered the sale of a 784-unit Extra Space Storage facility in San Antonio. Situated on 3.3 acres, the property totals 88,875 net rentable square feet of climate-controlled space. Ryan Clark of Skyview Advisors represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer and seller were not disclosed.
BAYTOWN, TEXAS — New York-based Merit Hill Capital has acquired Safe-Keeping Self Storage, a 782-unit facility located in the eastern Houston metro of Baytown. The property totals 76,485 net rentable square feet and offers climate-controlled units, electronic access control and 24-hour surveillance. Steve Mellon and Brian Somoza of JLL represented the seller, Weiss Realty Group Inc., in the transaction. The property was 93 percent leased at the time of sale.
