NEW YORK CITY — Whole Foods Market will open an 8,500-square-foot store in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood on Wednesday, June 4. The small-format store will be located at 301 W. 50th St. and will offer a bakery and a prepared foods section. The opening of this store follows today’s opening of a 10,000-square-foot store within the StuyTown development in the East Village.

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. — A partnership between Red Development and Globe Corp. has signed three new retail tenants to Goodyear Civic Square (GSQ), its 150-acre mixed-use development located in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear. Trader Joe’s will open a 13,500-square-foot store — the first in Goodyear — while Black Rock Coffee Bar will open a 1,460-square-foot drive-thru coffee shop. Additionally, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill will open a 5,658-square-foot standalone building that also houses a 700-square-foot outdoor patio. All new tenants are scheduled to open in 2026. The first phase of GSQ features a newly constructed city hall and library, 2-acre park, two parking garages, as well as office space. An outpatient medical building is currently under construction and a 132-room hotel is also planned for the development. Other tenants already open at the property include Bacchus Wine & Debauchery, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Copper & Sage, F45 Training, Harkins Theatres and Miyu Nails and Spa.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Marx Realty has signed 16,000 square feet of new and expanded leases at The Herald, a 114,000-square-foot office building located at 1307 New York Ave. in Washington, D.C. The deals include two new leases: a 5,000-square-foot, eight-year lease with Auburn University’s non-partisan think tank McCrary Institute and a 3,200-square-foot, six-year deal with public policy strategy firm August Strategy Group. Additionally, an undisclosed government affairs agency has nearly doubled its footprint at The Herald, expanding by 7,800 square feet. The office building’s amenities include a rental 2023 Tesla Y car, 40-seat boardroom, café, lounge and a fitness center with boxing facilities, private workout rooms, Pelotons, Hydro rowers and a mirror fitness system.

ALLEN, TEXAS — Chicken N Pickle, a Kansas City-based concept that combines dining with pickleball and other outdoor games, has opened a 42,000-square-foot restaurant and entertainment venue in the northeastern Dallas suburb of Allen. The venue is located at The Farm, a 135-acre mixed-use development by JaRyCo, and features dining areas on two levels, a sports bar, six indoor and two covered outdoor pickleball courts, beer gardens and other outdoor game spaces. Construction began in February 2024.

HOUSTON — Hicks Davis Wynn has renewed and expanded its office lease in West Houston. The law firm has renewed its 8,509-square-foot lease at 3555 Timmons Lane, a 230,440-square-foot building located within the Greenway Plaza development, and also taken an additional 4,863 square feet of space, bringing its total footprint to 13,372 square feet. Katy Gragg, John Heard and Eric Anderson of Transwestern represented the landlord, Dallas-based Novel Office, in the lease negotiations. Partners Real Estate represented the tenant.

GLENVIEW, ILL. — Lee & Associates of Illinois has negotiated a long-term lease for a 44,458-square-foot industrial building located at 1870 Elmdale Ave. in the Chicago suburb of Glenview. Jeff Janda, John Cassidy and Brad Simousek of Lee & Associates represented the owner, DRA Advisors. Nick Schurer of Vestian Global Workplace Services represented the tenant, Lakeshore Academy Gymnastics North. The property marks the gymnastic school’s third location.

WOODBURY, N.Y. — Rivian Automotive has signed a 41,000-square-foot industrial lease in the Long Island community of Woodbury. The electric vehicle maker is taking space at Crossways Logistics Center, a newly built, 145,200-square-foot facility, for its first Long Island service center. Nicholas Gallipoli, Frank Frizalone and Thomas DeLuca of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, Rockefeller Group, in the lease negotiations. CARROLLTON, TEXAS — Locally based brokerage firm Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services has secured a 10,202-square-foot lease at 2155 Chenault Drive, and industrial flex property in the northern Dallas metro of Carrollton. The tenant, software company SIMStation, is relocating its U.S. headquarters from Miami to the 74,402-square-foot Avion Business Center.
