RED BANK, N.J. — Dickstein Real Estate Services, a New Jersey-based brokerage firm, has negotiated a 5,175-square-foot office lease in Red Bank, a coastal city about 50 miles south of New York City. The property is located within a two-building complex at 322 Highway 35 South, which was 90 percent occupied at the time of leasing. Larry Dickstein of Dickstein represented the tenant, New Jersey-based Xela Communications, in the lease negotiations. Kristin Hurlbut of Denholtz Properties represented the landlord on an internal basis.

LINCOLNWOOD, ILL. — The RoomPlace, an Illinois-based furniture store, has opened at Lincolnwood Town Center in northern Illinois. The retailer replaces a former Carson’s store. The 84,000-square-foot space incorporates three brands — The RoomPlace, The MattressPlace and RP Outlet. The location marks The RoomPlace’s largest store to date. Washington Prime Group Inc. owns Lincolnwood Town Center. Other retailers at the shopping mall include Kohl’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, Express and Champs Sports.
DALLAS — Uber (NYSE: UBER) has signed a 450,000-square-foot lease within The Epic, a mixed-use development in Dallas. Uber will move to the second planned 23-story office building, which will total 470,000 square feet, when completed. Westdale Real Estate Investment and Management, the owner and developer of The Epic, plans to break ground in the fourth quarter of this year with delivery slated for the fourth quarter of 2022. In the meantime, Uber will occupy 168,000 square feet on the ninth to 15th floors of the existing Epic office tower beginning in July 2020. The company plans to move about 700 employees to Dallas in July, then more than 3,000 in 2022. Uber plans to begin tenant improvements and buildout in the new tower in the second quarter of 2022. This is the second massive lease signing recently for the transportation company. Earlier this week, Uber announced that it signed a 10-year, 463,000-square-foot lease in Chicago’s Old Post Office. The Epic is located on the eastside of downtown Dallas, adjacent to Deep Ellum. DALLAS AND PLANO, TEXAS — Coworking firm Spaces will open four new coworking facilities totaling 173,395 square feet in the metroplex over the next few months. Spaces will occupy 48,171 square feet at Legacy Central, 47,046 square feet at the Shops at Legacy, 31,152 square feet in West Plano Village and 47,026 square feet at The Epic in Deep Ellum. Baron Aldrine, Steve Rigby, Mike Cleary, Mike Kay and Pete Danna of CBRE represented Spaces in the lease negotiations.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — American Specialty Health, a provider of musculoskeletal and fitness solutions, has signed a 164,000-square-foot office lease at Heritage Commons IV at AllianceTexas in Fort Worth. Steve Aldrich and Ian Kinne of Hillwood represented the landlord, Griffin Capital Essential Asset REIT, in the lease negotiations. Jenny Schreiner and Jon Altschuler of Altschuler & Co. represented the tenant. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services previously occupied the building before moving into a new space at AllianceTexas.
CHICAGO — Uber Technologies has signed a 10-year office lease for 463,000 square feet at Chicago’s Old Post Office. The ridesharing company will serve as the building’s anchor tenant and expects to take over the space beginning Jan. 5. The office will be Uber’s second-largest office behind its headquarters in San Francisco. The owner and developer of the property, 601W Cos., is underway on an $800 million redevelopment of the 2.8 million-square-foot former post office. Walgreens, Home Chef, Ferrara Candy Co. and AbelsonTaylor have previously signed leases at the project.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Korean fashion retailer ALAND has signed a 10,000-square-foot lease at American Dream, an upcoming mixed-use development in East Rutherford, a western suburb of New York City. The store will be ALAND’s second location in the United States after its Brooklyn store opened in 2018. Canadian developer Triple Five Group will open over 3 million square feet of retail, entertainment and food destinations at American Dream in October 2019.

The office is located within 1135 Broad Street, a three-story, 68,000-square-foot medical office building. Cushman & Wakefield Negotiates Two Office Leases Totaling 4,920 SF in Somerset, New Jersey

SOMERSET, N.J. — Cushman & Wakefield has negotiated two office leases totaling 4,920 square feet in Somerset, a city located about 40 miles east of New York City. The offices are situated within 200 Cottontail Lane, a 208,000-square-foot Class A office property. August eTech signed a 3,230-square-foot headquarters office lease, and Tekcon Construction signed a 1,800-square-foot regional office lease. Paul Giannone, Todd Elfand, Kevin Carton and Joe Vacca of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, The Winter Organization, in both lease negotiations. Carolyn Sica of CBRE represented eTech.
HOUSTON — NAI Partners has negotiated a 41,866-square-foot industrial lease at 4300 Windfern Road in Houston for Henry Avocado Corp., a year-round grower and distributor of the fruit. Darren O’Conor and John Ferruzzo of NAI Partners represented the tenant in the lease negotiations. The name and representative of the landlord were not disclosed.
