NAPERVILLE, ILL. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the sale of Maple Court Apartments in Naperville for $4.6 million. The 48-unit multifamily property is located at 1135 W. Ogden Ave. Eric Bell of Marcus & Millichap marketed the property on behalf of the seller. Andrean Angelov and Ryan Engle of Marcus & Millichap secured and represented the buyer.

ROLLING MEADOWS, ILL. — GlenStar and Rubenstein Partners LP have launched a $15 million capital improvement plan for Continental Towers, a 910,796-square-foot office complex in Rolling Meadows, about 30 miles northwest of Chicago. This is the second of a two-phase renovation project initiated in 2015. Plans call for a reimagined outdoor terrace with a lounge, grilling areas, fire pits and lawn area. The property’s café and amenity center, which are currently undergoing renovations, will be connected to the new terrace. Project completion is scheduled for second-quarter 2020. Phase I was a $30 million project that included the construction of a new 734-stall parking garage and a full renovation of the 22,000-square-foot fitness center run by Midtown Health Club. Continental Towers is a three-tower property situated on 34 acres at 1701 Golf Road. GlenStar originally acquired the property in 2013 and recapitalized the asset in 2018 with Rubenstein.

CHICAGO — J.C. Anderson has completed the build-out for Colliers International’s Chicago headquarters at 71 S. Wacker Drive. The global real estate services and investment management company has relocated its Chicago headquarters from 200 S. Wacker Drive. The space features raised flooring, open ceilings, new light fixtures and new painting. Irvine Co. owns 71 South Wacker, a 48-story office tower that was completed in 2005.

CHICAGO — Four retailers have joined the tenant lineup at Lincoln Common, a mixed-use project in Chicago. First, Dearborn Denim & Apparel will open a 668-square-foot storefront this fall. The apparel manufacturer sells men’s and women’s jeans that are cut and sewn in Chicago. Lincoln Common will serve as the company’s third location. Slated to open in October, Blowout Junkie will occupy 652 square feet. Lincoln Common will also serve as the third location for the luxury blowout and hairstyle bar. Pharmaca, an integrated pharmacy, will span 2,139 square feet and is expected to open in late fall. Verve Wine, a New York-based retail shop, is set to open a 4,000-square-foot store and wine bar in spring 2020. Each wine is curated by a master sommelier and sourced from small wineries with options starting at $12 per bottle. Hines and McCaffery are the developers for Lincoln Common, which will include 100,000 square feet of retail space, 538 luxury apartment units, 40 condominiums, a five-story boutique office building, 156-room senior living community and more than an acre of open space. Previously signed tenants include Equinox, Velvet Taco, Philz Coffee, Athletico, Compass, Play2Day and Kohler Waters Spa.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILL. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the sale of a 125-room Comfort Inn hotel in Arlington Heights for $7.5 million. The 125-room property is located at 2120 S. Arlington Heights Road, less than nine miles from Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The three-story hotel features a business center, fitness center, meeting rooms and dry cleaning services. Ebrahim Valliani, Michael Klar, Allan Miller and Chris Gomes of Marcus & Millichap marketed the property on behalf of the undisclosed seller and represented the buyer.

OAK BROOK, ILL. — Morgan/Harbour Construction has broken ground on a new 135,000-square-foot, four-story build-to-suit for Hub Group on Clearwater Drive in Oak Brook. The project serves as Phase II for the headquarters of Hub Group, a supply chain solutions provider. In the second phase, Morgan/Harbour will construct a replica of the Phase I building with open work areas, private offices, conference rooms and a fitness center. The buildings will be connected via an underground walkway. Solomon Cordwell Buenz is the architect. Completion is slated for September 2020. Morgan/Harbour completed Phase I in 2014.

LINCOLNWOOD, ILL. — The RoomPlace, an Illinois-based furniture store, has opened at Lincolnwood Town Center in northern Illinois. The retailer replaces a former Carson’s store. The 84,000-square-foot space incorporates three brands — The RoomPlace, The MattressPlace and RP Outlet. The location marks The RoomPlace’s largest store to date. Washington Prime Group Inc. owns Lincolnwood Town Center. Other retailers at the shopping mall include Kohl’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, Express and Champs Sports.

CHICAGO — Uber Technologies has signed a 10-year office lease for 463,000 square feet at Chicago’s Old Post Office. The ridesharing company will serve as the building’s anchor tenant and expects to take over the space beginning Jan. 5. The office will be Uber’s second-largest office behind its headquarters in San Francisco. The owner and developer of the property, 601W Cos., is underway on an $800 million redevelopment of the 2.8 million-square-foot former post office. Walgreens, Home Chef, Ferrara Candy Co. and AbelsonTaylor have previously signed leases at the project.

CHICAGO — Avanath Capital Management LLC has acquired two affordable housing properties in Chicago for $43.7 million. Avanath purchased Scotland Yard Apartments in the Buena Park neighborhood for $28.3 million. Built in two phases in 1915 and 1917, the 156-unit property was renovated in 1982. Avanath plans to make a number of improvements to the property. The second community is Renaissance North, a 59-unit property that Avanath purchased for $15.4 million. Constructed in 2003, the community features one-, two- and three-bedroom units in addition to first-floor retail space. Renaissance North, built in conjunction with the Chicago Housing Authority, offers both market-rate and affordable units. Avanath will also make a series of upgrades to this property.

CHICAGO — J.C. Anderson has completed a 29,000-square-foot renovation project at the Aon Center in Chicago. The project scope included new amenities for the building’s 70th floor. Known as the Cloud Level, the project features a new fitness center, conference center, bar area, dining area, game room, library and private event meeting space. Gary Lee Partners provided architectural services and JLL provided project management services. Property owners include 601W Cos. and Brickell 13 Chicago. Located downtown, the Aon Center is an 83-story skyscraper.  It is currently the third-tallest building in Chicago and was completed in 1973. Major tenants include Aon, JLL and Kraft Heinz.
