The leases include: T-Mobile signed a lease for 2,774 square feet at Westgate Shopping Center located at the northwest corner of Orchard Lake Road and Northwestern Highway in West Bloomfield. Mid-America’s Adam Goodman represented the tenant. Potbelly Sandwich Shop signed a lease for 2,656 square feet at The Shops at Westshore located at 12359 James St. in Holland. The tenant will join JCPenney, Younkers and Dunham Sports. Mid-America’s Brad Rosenberg and Adam Goodman represented the tenant. J-Bees signed a lease for 2,400 square feet at Oakland Mall in Troy. The retailer will join Macy’s, JCPenney and Sears at the 499,212-square-foot mall located at 412 W. Fourteen Mile Road. Mid-America’s Brad Rosenberg and Aleyciuss Al-Ali represented the tenant in the transaction.

LIVONIA, MICH. — Mid-America Real Estate Corp. has arranged the $19.8 million sale of Livonia Plaza, a 137,391-square-foot shopping center located in the Detroit suburb of Livonia. Kroger anchors the center, which is also home to TJ Maxx, Red Wing Shoes, Sally Beauty Supply and Subway. Ben Wineman and Daniel Stern of Mid-America represented the seller, Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust, in the sale of the property to Phillips Edison Grocery Center REIT II.
LIVONIA, MICH. — Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions has leased 7,206 square feet of retail space at Laurel Office Park III, located at 17197 N. Laurel Park Drive in Livonia, Mich. The landlord, LOP III Holding Co. LLC – FMC, leased the space to Blazent Inc. Blazent, a data quality management company currently located in Novi, will move its headquarters to the Laurel Office Park location next year. David Friedman and Amit Hingorani of Friedman represented the landlord in the transaction.
ROSEVILLE, MICH. — Mid-America Real Estate Corp.’s Investment Sales team has brokered the sale of the Macomb Mall Shops in Roseville, Mich. A private investor purchased the 8,074-square-foot center for $3.6 million. Macomb Mall Shops is located at the northwest corner of Gratiot Avenue and Masonic Boulevard in Roseville. The center’s tenant list includes Potbelly’s, AT&T and Chipotle. Mid-America’s Carly Gallagher, Ben Wineman and Richard Kerwin represented the seller, Bloomfield Hills-based Lormax Stern Development Co., in the transaction.
CANTON AND SAGINAW, MICH. — Tjader Gerdom and Larry Siedell of Gerdom Realty and Investment represented both the buyer and seller in the sale of two net leased restaurants, Hayden’s Grill and Bar in Canton and Harvey’s Grill and Bar in Saginaw. Both locations are freestanding casual dining restaurants spanning 7,000 square feet. A private investor from the Detroit area bought the restaurants as a package deal.

CHICAGO — CA Student Living, the student housing investment and development division of Chicago-based CA Ventures, has completed eight student housing communities comprising nearly 4,000 beds across the U.S. Located in eight states, the properties are about 95 percent occupied and represent nearly 10 percent of the 47,700 off-campus student housing beds slated to deliver nationwide in 2016, according to the developer. Valued at more than $460 million, the new communities boost the size of CA Student Living’s portfolio to $1.5 billion. All offer fully furnished apartments with in-unit laundry and a 1:1 bed-to-bath ratio in most units. The newly delivered communities include: Uncommon Athens — Uncommon Athens is a five-story building located at 165 E. Dougherty St in Athens, Ga. It is within walking distance to both downtown Athens and the University of Georgia. The property’s 210 beds include a mix of one-, two- and four-bedroom floor plans, and the development contains 10,600 square feet of street-level retail space. The 13,000-square-foot retail center, which is 100 percent occupied, is located at 1515 E. U.S. Route 223. Wheeler has been involved with the leasing of this asset since 2008.

DETROIT — Shinola, a wristwatch and bicycle manufacturer, has teamed up with Bedrock Real Estate Services LLC to develop the Shinola Hotel, a 130-room hotel located at 1400 Woodward Ave. in downtown Detroit. The new hotel is set to open in the fall of 2018. Detroit-based Kraemer Design Group is the architect of record for the Shinola Hotel, and New York-based NoHo Hospitality Group will handle the hotel’s food and beverage program. The hotel will feature Detroit-inspired design from Gachot Studios. Detroit-based Bedrock is a full-service commercial real estate firm owned by Dan Gilbert, founder of Quicken Loans and owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bedrock owns over 90 properties totaling more than 15 million square feet.
MADISON HEIGHTS, MICH. — MFP Seals has signed a long-term lease for an industrial building located at 900 E. Whitcomb Ave. in Madison Heights. The company will relocate its manufacturing and administrative facilities from Troy, Mich., to the new 38,776-square-foot building this fall. MFP Seals is a division of Martin Fluid Power, a wholesale distribution manufacturer of sealing devices. Garry Rogers of L.
