GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. — Preusser Jewelers has opened an 1,897-square-foot store at 1200 E. Paris Ave. SE in Grand Rapids. Known for being Michigan’s oldest jeweler, the company moved to the new location after being in downtown Grand Rapids for 173 years. Bill Tyson of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan represented the tenant in the lease. The landlord was undisclosed. Additional tenants at the center include Bill and Paul’s Sporthaus and Groskopf’s.

YPSILANTI, MICH. — MC Driving School has signed a 2,322-square-foot retail lease at Arbor Square Plaza in Ypsilanti. The tenant will take the space formerly occupied by Weight Watchers at the center, which is located at the southeast corner of Carpenter and Ellsworth roads. Michael Murphy and Tjader Gerdom of Gerdom Realty & Investment represented the landlord, Verus Development Group.
LANSING, MICH. — Gillespie Group’s medical services building that is opening in Lansing’s University Health Park has been named the Izzo Family Medical Center after Michigan State University’s basketball coach Tom Izzo and his family. The Izzo family received the naming opportunity to honor the contributions they have made in the community over the past 27 years. The 60,400-square-foot building, which is slated to open in June, will house three groups: McLaren Greater Lansing, MSU Healthcare and Corewell Health’s Helen Devos Children’s Hospital. The Izzo family will own the building in conjunction with developer Gillespie Group and a few other investors.
SOUTHFIELD, MICH. — Guardian Alarm has sold its 66,000-square-foot office headquarters in Southfield. The company has signed a new lease for 37,111 square feet at 26711 Northwestern Highway in Southfield. The new office will include a state-of-the-art alarm monitoring command center, updated training facilities and an expanded customer care center. The move also enables Guardian Alarm to consolidate its administrative offices, which are currently located in two separate buildings. The company expects to complete the move by late summer. DETROIT — Bernard Financial Group has arranged a $29.9 million loan for the construction of a 161-unit multifamily project in Detroit. Dennis Bernard and Joshua Bernard of the firm arranged the loan, terms of which were not provided. Flagstar Bank provided the loan.
DETROIT — Friedman Real Estate has negotiated a new office lease for 41,400 square feet at 601 W. Fort St. in Detroit. The property was completed in 1912 and renovated in 2016. The tenant is an international sea and air logistics company and will occupy the building in its entirety. The property is situated near Michigan Central Station, which is currently undergoing the final phase of restoration by Ford Motor Co. Steve Eisenshtadt and Andrew Bower of Friedman represented the undisclosed landlord.
TRAVERSE CITY, MICH. — Bernard Financial Group has arranged a $4 million loan for the refinancing of Tradewinds Terrace, a 122-unit multifamily property in Traverse City. Dennis Bernard and Joshua Bernard of the firm arranged the loan on behalf of the borrower, an entity doing business as Tradewinds Terrace Owner LLC. Ameritas Life Insurance Co. provided the loan, terms of which were undisclosed.
ANN ARBOR, MICH. — Fitness concept Stretch Lab has signed a 1,207-square-foot retail lease at the Uptown Ann Arbor mixed-use development in Ann Arbor. Other retail tenants at the property include Beyond Juice, Marco’s Pizza, Banfield Pet Hospital, Paint Nail Bar, Detroit Wing Co. and The Great Greek. Stephen Smith of TNF Realty represented Stretch Lab in the lease. Michael Murphy, Vicki Gutowski and Tjader Gerdom of Gerdom Realty & Investment represented the owner, Beztak Properties.
PONTIAC, MICH. — The Paslin Co. has signed a 113,742-square-foot industrial lease at 660 S. Blvd. East in Pontiac. Founded in 1937, the company is a full-service design-build organization serving the global automotive industry. Phil Konopitski of Friedman Real Estate represented the tenant in the lease. The landlord was undisclosed.
MICHIGAN — Prestige Storage, in partnership with Peaceable Street Capital, has acquired a 12-property self-storage portfolio in western Michigan for an undisclosed price. The portfolio totals 490,302 square feet with 2,956 units. The properties are located in Muskegon, Fruitport, Spring Lake, Kent City and West Olive. The facilities, which feature a mix of climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled units, will be rebranded to Prestige Storage. The buyer intends to expand the properties, with initial plans calling for the addition of more than 100 parking spaces for boats, RVs and trucks. Columbus, Ohio-based Prestige maintains a portfolio of more than 50 properties in seven states totaling 2.4 million rentable square feet.
