FERNDALE, MICH. — Detroit City Skateboards has signed a 1,000-square-foot retail lease in Ferndale in the northern Detroit metro area. The local skateboard shop, which sells skate accessories and apparel, will be located off of 9 Mile Road. Ben Hubert of Colliers International arranged the lease transaction. Hubert also recently leased the space next door to Maestros Dog Haus on behalf of the landlord.

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions have unveiled plans for the Ford Family to invest approximately $100 million into Ford Field for new video boards and several other renovations to be completed in time for the 2017 season. Upgrades will be made to the sound system, The Corner Lounge, stadium suites and premium club areas. In each end zone, the Daktronics main video displays will be more than twice the size of the current displays and measure 39.5 feet high by 152 feet wide. Four additional displays, measuring 13 feet high by 59 feet wide, can be used individually or coordinated with the main displays for one continuous 270-foot presentation to show live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages. In the coming months, Meyer Sound will install the full LEO Family Linear Sound Reinforcement System to replace the original stadium sound system in its entirety. It will feature 182 separate loudspeakers. In addition, the Lions consulted with Rossetti, the original architectural firm for Ford Field, to identify opportunities to renovate areas of the stadium to enhance and modernize the guest experience as well as better utilize the existing space. OAK LAWN AND WORTH, ILL. — Essex Realty Group Inc. has brokered the sale of a 110-unit multifamily portfolio in suburban Chicago for $7.4 million. The portfolio consists of three buildings in the southwest suburbs of Oak Lawn and Worth. The properties include 10409-35 S. Menard Ave. and 10300-20 S. Parkside Ave. in Oak Lawn, and 6615-19 W. Lloyd Drive in Worth. The buildings were converted to condos in the mid-2000s. The unit mix for the buildings includes 49 one-bedroom, 59 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom units. The purchaser plans to acquire the remaining 16 units. Brian Kochendorfer and Matt Welke of Essex represented the seller in the transaction. Doug Imber and Kate Varde represented the buyer.

MINNEAPOLIS — CBRE has arranged the sale of The Parkway in Minneapolis for $6.5 million. The 70-unit apartment community is located at 1501 LaSalle Ave. near Loring Park. The building, originally built in 1917, has undergone significant improvements to the lobby and common areas. Half of the apartments were upgraded prior to the sale. Ted Abramson, Robert Lockman, Keith Collins and Laura Hanneman of CBRE represented the seller, Parkway Property Investors LLC. The buyer was local owner TE Miller Development LLC, based in Eden Prairie.

CHICAGO — Nitel has relocated to a 32,115-square-foot office space in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. The building is located at 350 N. Orleans St. The space at River North Point is fully built-out and Nitel will make modest tenant improvements to its new space to accommodate density. The provider of telecommunications network services previously occupied 20,000 square feet at 1101 W. Lake St. in Fulton Market. Kyle Kamin, Jon Milonas and Dan Persa of CBRE represented Nitel in the transaction.

MILWAUKEE — Unique Delivery Service Inc. has signed a 27,000-square-foot industrial lease in Milwaukee. The courier service company will occupy the building located at 4122 S. 13th St. Jonas Family Limited Partnership was the landlord. TJ Huenerbein and Cale Berg of the Dickman Co. Inc. brokered the lease transaction.

TROY, MICH. — Bernard Financial Group has arranged a $21.1 million loan for the refinancing of an office property in Troy, a northern suburb of Detroit. The multi-tenant complex consists of 149,976 square feet. Dennis Bernard and Kevin Kovachevich of Bernard Financial originated the loan for the borrower, Liberty Investments LLC. A CMBS firm provided the loan.

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WIS. — DoubleTree by Hilton Pleasant Prairie Kenosha has reopened after undergoing a $3.5 million renovation. The hotel is located at 11800 108th St. in Pleasant Prairie. The conversion and renovation of the 120-room hotel includes upgrades to the guest rooms, meeting spaces and public spaces, including the lobby, business center, fitness center and pool area. The hotel also includes an on-site restaurant and bar, The Chancery Bar & Grill. Business meetings and events accommodating up to 500 attendees can be held in the hotel’s 5,500 square feet of meeting and banquet facility space. The property is owned by Varin Realty LLC and managed by First Hospitality Group Inc.

OMAHA, NEB. — The Lerner Co. has completed the retenanting of the vacant Kmart building at Eagle Run Shopping Center in Omaha. Kmart closed its 93,000-square-foot store in December 2014. TJ Maxx and HomeGoods will open later this year. Sierra Trading Post will open before the first quarter of 2018. Plans were previously unveiled for a 40,000-square-foot Burlington store to open this March. The shopping center, located at 132nd and West Maple roads, totals 415,000 square feet. Other big-box retailers in the center include Baker’s Supermarket, Kohl’s, Petco and Office Depot.
