ROLLA, MO. — McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. has completed construction of the Delbert Day Cancer Institute at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla in central Missouri. The 37,000-square-foot cancer care facility occupies the first two levels of the new, four-story, 100,470-square-foot building constructed by McCarthy. Located at the north side of the main hospital campus, the $31.3 million building is connected to an adjacent medical office building via a pedestrian bridge.The new facility includes more than 63,000 square feet of medical office space to accommodate future tenants. The institute houses radiation therapies, nuclear medicine, infusion therapy, medical oncology and supporting lab and pharmacy services. To optimize efficiency, the project team employed Lean construction techniques, including the construction of prefabricated mechanical, engineering and plumbing systems, using building information modeling to reduce site waste. McCarthy also used advanced construction technologies such as a semi-automated robotic mason to enhance the efficiency of bricklaying. BSA LifeStructures designed the building.

MUNDELEIN, ILL. — Evergreen Real Estate Group has begun pre-leasing at Fairhaven Crossing, an affordable housing community in Mundelein, about 35 miles northwest of Chicago. The $13.5 million project is part of a larger initiative to turn downtown Mundelein into a walkable mixed-use district. Located at 407 E. Hawley St., the transit-oriented development consists of 40 units. The site was previously home to an industrial building that was converted into the three-story residential building. The redevelopment was partially funded using $5.6 million in low-income housing tax credit financing secured by Evergreen Real Estate.

LEAWOOD, KAN. — Block & Co. Inc. Realtors has arranged the sale of two acres in the Village of Seville shopping center in Leawood near Overland Park. The shopping center is located at West 133rd Street and State Line Road. An undisclosed buyer purchased the land to build a new 16,400-square-foot medical facility. David M. Block and Phil Peck of Block & Co. negotiated the transaction on behalf of the property owners. Cary Fox and Bill Shakelford of AREA Real Estate Advisors represented the buyer. Block & Co. is responsible for the leasing, property management and construction management of the Village of Seville development.

MEQUON, WIS. — Altapure has signed a 3,300-square-foot industrial lease in Mequon, about 20 miles northwest of Milwaukee. Altapure will occupy Suite K in the 30,300-square-foot building located at 6040 W. Executive Drive. Based in South Bend, Ind., Altapure manufactures disinfection products. Steve Sewart of Colliers International represented the tenant in the transaction.

Nearly all of Kansas City is seeing a significant increase in retail and restaurant construction, with many new development projects now coming to fruition. Several of these new construction projects incorporate apartments and other types of entertainment, office or residential space above first-floor retail. Propelled by the recent opening of the streetcar and new apartment complexes across the city, retail in downtown Kansas City received a lot of leasing attention in 2016, according to CoStar Group. “More people are moving downtown for walkability and a taste of urban living, so retail positioned near the streetcar route or on the ground level of apartment buildings could see more demand,” wrote CoStar in its third-quarter overview of the Kansas City retail market. “In the area running from River Market down to Country Club Plaza, as much space leased in the first three quarters of 2016 as did in all of 2015.” Meanwhile, we are experiencing a number of projects where the traditional, older enclosed malls and retail strip centers are being torn down and redeveloped as mixed-use properties across the Kansas City retail market. MIDLAND, MICH. — Westwood Net Lease Advisors has brokered the sale of an office building in Midland, about 27 miles east of Mt. Pleasant, for $92.6 million. The building serves as the headquarters for Dow Chemical Co., a manufacturer of plastics, chemicals and agricultural products. David Clary of Stan Johnson Co. represented the seller, Wells Fargo. Vince Vatterott and Jason Simon of Westwood Net Lease Advisors represented the buyer, a Northeast-based real estate investor. The transaction was completed as a 1031 exchange.

DEERFIELD, ILL. — Transwestern has arranged the sale of a three-story office building in Deerfield for $10 million. The 120,000-square-foot building is located at 155 N. Pfingsten Road. The property is 90 percent leased by 12 tenants and is anchored by NCH Marketing Services. Gary Nussbaum, Michelle Monhaut and Paige Gunn represented the seller, Colony Realty Partners. Brad Nichol of Boxer Property led the transaction on Boxer’s behalf. The company plans to upgrade building systems and add on-site tenant amenities.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — Colliers International has brokered the sale of a 35,090-square-foot retail automotive facility in Farmington Hills. The sales price was not disclosed. The facility, previously used as a sales and service center for Motor City Harley Davidson, is located at 34900 Grand River Ave. Farmington Hills-based Coretek Services, an IT services and consulting company, will lease the property as its new corporate headquarters. Paul Gobeille of Colliers represented the purchaser, an undisclosed LLC.

OAK BROOK, ILL. — McShane Construction Co. has been selected by Interforum Holdings to construct Lakeside Village of Oak Brook, a 315-unit apartment complex in Oak Brook. The building will be constructed on a six-acre parcel located off Royce Boulevard. The four-story development will feature an urban “Texas donut” design in which the residential component is constructed around a central core parking garage. The property will consist of 40 one-, 263 two- and 12 three-bedroom floor plans. Amenities will include a fitness center, business center, swimming pool, playground, dog park and dog washing station. Construction will be completed in phases with move-ins beginning in early 2018. The entire development will be completed in late 2018. Baranyk Associates Ltd. is providing architectural services.

GERMANTOWN, WIS. — Like Minds Brewing LLC has signed a 3,800-square-foot industrial lease in Germantown, about 23 miles northwest of Milwaukee. The 50,000-square-foot building is located on Maple Avenue. Jim Young of The Barry Co. represented the landlord, West Florist Avenue LLC. TJ Huenerbein of the Dickman Co. Inc. represented the tenant. Like Minds Brewing operates locations in Chicago and Milwaukee.
