ARNOLD, MO. — Construction is currently under way for the Parish Center addition at St. Mark Catholic School in Arnold. The $1.7 million, 12,500-square-foot addition includes a new gymnasium and restrooms. Additionally, a parking lot will be constructed to accommodate the additional building space. Completion is slated for this fall. St. Louis-based Kozeny-Wagner is serving as general contractor; M+H Architects is the architect of record; Pillar Design Team is serving as MEP engineer; and CEDC is serving as civil engineer.

UNION, MO. — The Franklin County Courthouse is currently undergoing a $3.2 million renovation. Located at 300 E. Main St. in Union, the project includes a complete remodel of the three-story, 27,439-square-foot building and partial basement. Kaiser Electric is installing new electric service, lighting and fire alarm system, closed-circuit television, courtroom audio, card access and voice/date systems in the courthouse. Additionally, the building’s existing historic light fixtures will be refurbished. Kaiser is also working with St. Louis-based Brennan Tools & Fastening Systems on the project. The construction timetable was not released.

CHICAGO — Vibes Media has leased 21,620 square feet of space at 300 W. Adams St. in Chicago. The company, a national mobile media expert, will relocate from 205 W. Wacker St. in the third quarter. Matt Carolan of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant; Chris Cassata from CB Richard Ellis represented the undisclosed landlord. Additional terms of the lease were not released.

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati-based West Shell Commercial is joining the Colliers International’s platform. West Shell’s operations will adopt the Colliers brand and name on May 1, 2010. The 88-employee company will not change during the rebranding. Additionally, Colliers recently expanded into the Columbus, Ohio, market. Earlier this year, Collier combined operations and global real estate services platforms with FirstService Real Estate Advisors.

CHICAGO — CB Richard Ellis has brokered eight new leases for Block 37, which is located at 108 N. State St. in downtown Chicago. Ladies and Gentlemen, an Aveda lifestyle salon, has leased 5,284 square feet on Level 3; iCandylicious inked a deal for 1,619 square feet on the Pedway; Texas-based Which Wich signed for 1,523 square feet on the Pedway; Chicago-based Alternative Shoes leased 1,441 square feel on Level 1; Simply Thalia signed for 1,279 square feet on the Pedway; Andy’s Frozen Custard inked a deal for 967 square feet on the Pedway; Michelle Tan leased 659 square feet on Level 2; and Comic Vault leased 294 square feet on Level 3. Block 37 is a five-story, approximately 280,000-square-foot retail center in Chicago. Leslie Mader, Joe Parrott and Peter Graham of CB Richard brokered the transactions. Terms of the leases were not disclosed.

WEST ALLIS AND NEW BERLIN, WIS. — Milwaukee-based Inland Construction has completed two construction projects in West Allis and New Berlin. In the first project, Inland Construction completed a 3,500-square-foot tenant improvement project for Perfect Mattress Inc. The store is located at 3020 S. 108th St. in West Allis. In the second project, the company completed a structural renovation for Hawthrone Hill Barn. The 6,788-square-foot property is located at 16370 Small Road in New Berlin. Both project were completed in April.

MILWAUKEE — Corithian Colleges Inc. has signed a lease for 45,000 square feet of office space in Milwaukee. The company is leasing space at Haymarket Square, which is located at 1311 N. Sixth St. in Milwaukee. Lyle Landowski, Mike Fardy and Scott Welsh of Inland Cos. brokered the deal. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

EFFINGHAM, ILL. — Midland States Bank has selected The Redmond Company to provide master planning, site selection and design services for its new headquarters in Effingham. The four-story, 80,000-square-foot building will house the bank’s administrative, operations and finance divisions. The property will feature an extensive glass exterior, a large ground-floor patio, roof terraces and a lobby atrium. Additionally, the building is being designed to achieve LEED certification. Green elements include water-efficient plumbing fixtures, recycled materials, energy management systems and a construction waste-management program. Completion is slated for early 2011.
