FORT WAYNE, IND. — BRT Realty Trust has completed the disposition of Fort Wayne Hotel and Conference Center. Located at 300 E. Washington Blvd. in Fort Wayne, the 14-story, 208-room property will be converted into a senior living facility. Additional details about the conversion were not released. Walker Geyer and Brent Clemens of Paramount Lodging Advisors represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer and acquisition price were not disclosed.

MARION, ILL. — Marion Community Unit School District #2 has selected Swansea, Ill.-based Holland Construction Services to construct a new Creal Springs Elementary School in Marion. The $13 million, 67,000-square-foot facility is replacing a 100-year-old pre-kindergarten through eighth grade facility. The new school will feature green elements, including a geo-thermal system and natural lighting. Design Architects, a division of Hillsboro, Ill.-based Hurst-Rosche Engineers, is providing architectural services for the project. Construction is scheduled to begin in June.

CHICAGO — CompUSA has selected Skokie, Ill.-based The Missner Group to serve as general contractor for the renovation and expansion of the company’s CompUSA/Systemax retail location at 2500 N. Elston Ave. in Chicago. The renovation includes development of a new showroom, offices and applicable support facilities. Additionally, the project involves the complete overhaul of all mechanical and electrical systems, as well as a redesign of the exterior of the property. Sara E. F. Gensburg is providing architectural services for the project, which is slated for completion in May.

CHICAGO — Principle Construction Corp. is currently constructing a 29,711-square-foot facility for Merrill Avenue Baptist Church in Chicago. Located at 2600 E. 95th St., the new facility will feature a 360-person congregation area, administrative offices, a daycare area and an outdoor play area for children. Additionally, the project is incorporating green elements, including a vegetated roof, bio-swales, native plantings, an underground detention system, increased insulation thickness in the roof and walls, high-efficiency HVAC equipment and energy-saving electrical components. Completion is scheduled for October.

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Fort Worth, Texas-based Atlas Partners has acquired 27 condominium units in the 34-unit Liberty Lofts in Kansas City. Located at the corner of Pershing Road and Broadway, the property features a rooftop deck, free wireless Internet, loft-style designs, covered parking, a fitness center and downtown views. The units feature modern-style kitchens, stainless stain appliances, high ceilings, stained concrete flooring and accented color walls. Atlas acquired the units as a principal in partnership with Dallas-based Trinity Private Equity Group. Terms of the acquisition were not released.

MILWAUKEE — Salt Lake City-based SilverLeaf Financial has purchased a $17.4 million face value loan. The note is collateralized by Tannery Office Park, a 317,051-square-foot retail/office complex in Milwaukee. Constructed from 1890 to 1913, the property is comprised of six buildings on 10.34 acres. At the time of acquisition, the property was occupied by 20 tenants.

OWENSVILLE, IND. — Cambridge Realty Capital Cos. has closed on a $4.32 million FHA-insured HUD Lean mortgage loan for a skilled nursing home in Owensville. Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville offers 68 beds. Cambridge Realty Capital Ltd. of Illinois arranged the fully amortized, 27-year term loan for the property’s owners, an Indiana limited liability company.

NORTHBROOK, ILL. — Meridian Design Build has completed a 12,500-square-foot corporate office headquarters renovation for Highland Baking Co. in Northbrook. The project included private offices, a sales area, updated restrooms, conference rooms and an employee lunch area. Additionally, the project included the installation of an ultra-high efficiency boiler, new high-efficiency rooftop units and an updated plumbing system. A+M Architects provided architectural services for the project.
