AKRON, OHIO — Sunstar Akron has purchased a Motel 6 property, which is located at 99 Rothrock Road in Akron. Motel 6 Operating (Accor Hospitality) sold the 103-room property for an undisclosed price. Chris Dewey of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels represented the seller. The hotel will continue to operate under the Motel 6 brand.

AURORA, ILL. — Illinois-based Peerless Industries has signed a 1-year lease and purchase option for a 307,813-square-foot industrial space at 2300 White Oak Circle in Aurora. The auto/visual mounting solutions manufacturer plans to consolidate and relocate its global operations to the new facility, which was developed by Northern Builders in 1997. Situated on 22.5 acres, the building features 30-foot clear ceiling heights, 35 exterior docks and 400 parking spaces. Peerless has future plans to develop a 180,000-square-foot expansion on the site. Larry Goldwasser and Jay Maher of NAI Hiffman represented Peerless Industries; Jason West, Sean Henrick and Mike Magliano of Cushman & Wakefield represented the owner, Northern Builders. Additional terms of the lease were not released.
O’FALLON, ILL. — Swansea, Ill.-based Holland Construction Services will serve as general contractor for the renovations of Central Elementary School on Hartman Lane for Central School District #104 in O’Fallon. The first phase of construction is slated to begin mid-March, with completion scheduled for June. The $500,000, 4,200-square-foot project includes the conversion of two existing classrooms into new administrative offices and the conversion of four classrooms into two pre-Kindergarten rooms. The second phase, which is expected to begin in June, includes extensive interior renovation, enclosing open courtyard areas, renovating classrooms and restrooms, constructing a new art room, converting an existing office area into a new library and installing new heating and air-conditioning systems as well as a new sprinkler system. The second phase is scheduled for completion by year’s end.
FLOSSMOOR, ILL. — McShane Construction Co. has completed the construction of a 15,116-square-foot multi-tenant building, which is located at 19801 Governors Highway in Flossmoor. The Class A property offers flexible floorplans and state-of-the-art retail and medical office space. Currently signed tenants include Premier Orthopaedic and Hand Center, WCS Occupational Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, and law firm Shapiro, Vasilatos & Cotter. Initial move-in is scheduled for mid-March. KLLM Architects provided architectural services for the project. Old Plank Trail Community Bank provided financing for the new development, which was developed by Alliance Real Estate.
BROOKFIELD AND MADISON, WIS. — Milwaukee-based Inland Construction has completed two tenant improvement (T.I.) projects for Perfect Mattress Inc. Inland completed a 4,500-square-foot project for a Perfect Mattress store, which is located at 19165 Bluemound Road in Brookfield. Additionally, the company completed a 9,412-square-foot project for a Perfect Mattress location at 2101 Beltline Highway in Madison. Both projects were completed in February and the stores held separate grand openings on March 1.
MONROE, MICH. — Monroe Bank & Trust has completed the disposition of a building, which is located at 1300 Wood St. in Monroe. The industrial facility offers 28,502 square feet of space. The buyer and acquisition price were not released. Greg Hornby of Friedman Real Estate Group represented the seller in the transaction.
EDINA, MINN. — RJM Construction has been selected to complete two clinical build-outs for Allina Hospitals & Clinics within the Centennial Lakes Medical Center in Edina. The 8,300-square-foot project includes space for the Minneapolis Heart Institute and Quello OB/GYN. The two offices are being renovated to include a new X-ray suite, a nuclear medicine suite and three check-in/waiting areas. Completion of the project is slated for late April. RJM is providing construction services, while Mohagen Hansen Architectural Group is providing architectural services.
ZANESVILLE, OHIO — A Cincinnati-based private investor has acquired the ownership interest of a freestanding Family Dollar retail store in Zanesville. Family Dollar recently renewed its 5-year lease at the property, which is located at 1236 Maple Ave. New York-based Cedar Shopping Centers sold the 6,900-square-foot building for $575,000 at an 8.97 percent cap rate. Dan Cooper of Cooper Commercial Investment Group represented the seller in the transaction.
ST. LOUIS — Perpetual Life has purchased a 3,500-square-foot church facility, which is located at 1401 S. 14th St. in St. Louis. Corporation of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri sold the property for $200,000. Paul Nagel and Rudy Stinnett of Grubb & Ellis|Gundaker Commercial represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was not represented.
LAKE ZURICH, ILL. — ECHO Inc., which develops and manufactures professional-grade, hand-held outdoor power equipment, has selected Premier Design + Build Group to construct its 127,200-square-foot expansion at the company's existing facility in Lake Zurich. The project includes the addition of 12 exterior truck docks, one drive-in door, 28-foot clear heights and architectural pre-cast, and 3,000 square feet of office space improvements. Completion is slated for this summer. Stephan Rankin Associates is providing architectural services for the project, while Jacob & Hefner Associates is serving as civil engineer.
