BARTLETT, ILL. — Meridian Design Build has completed the construction of a 103,585-square-foot, build-to-suit corporate headquarters for Auto Truck Group in Bartlett. The facility is situated on 16.26 acres within Brewster Creek Business Park. It features 12,600 square feet of office space, 5,700 square feet of showroom space and an 85,000-square-foot shop area. The shop contains, welding stations, paint and wash booths, a metal fabrication area and work bays that can accommodate up to 48 trucks. The facility also contains a significant amount of secured outdoor vehicle storage space. Auto Truck Group is relocating from its previous facility on Ellis Avenue in Bensenville, Ill. Abbott Land & Investment Corp. served as developer of the project. Ware Malcomb provided design services.

BROWNSTOWN, MICH. — Friedman Real Estate Group has arranged the long-term leasing of 92,000 square feet of industrial space, located at 18400 Telegraph Rd. in Brownstown. The space will be occupied by Reino Linen Service, an Ohio-based healthcare laundry. Greg Hornby of Friedman represented the landlord, T&R Investments, in lease negotiations.
ST. PAUL, MINN. — Coldwell Banker Commercial Griffin Cos. has brokered the sale of the former Famous Dave’s restaurant building, located at the corner of South Robert Street and Mendota Road in St. Paul. Situated on 1.55 acres, the building will be razed and the land parcel will be added to the adjacent Ten Acres Center for the future expansion of the retail property. Coldwell Banker’s Linda Zelm and Suzie Rettinger represented the sellers, the heirs of William and Della Orf. The buyer, Jerry’s Enterprises, was represented by Darcy Winter of D.E. Winter & Associates. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
BIRMINGHAM, MICH. — Birmingham-based Sachse Construction has completed five new Walgreens pharmacies in Michigan. Each of the stores is freestanding, totals approximately 14,000 square feet, and was developed by Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Agree Realty. The locations include: Old Land Drive and Old U.S. 23 in Brighton; M-66 and U.S. 131 in Charlevoix; 21775 Card Rd. in Macomb Township; Van Dyke and 26 Mile Road in Shelby Township; and 419 E. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. Sachse has built more than 20 Walgreens locations in Michigan.
INDIANAPOLIS — Sandor Development Co. has leased space to three different tenants in two of its Indianapolis shopping centers. In the first transaction, Indiana Discount Mall signed a lease for 88,000 square feet within Lafayette Place Shopping Center, located at the intersection of 38th Street and Lafayette Road. Sandor’s Jamison Downs and John Holloway provided in-house representation for the landlord. In addition, Lady Joy Fashion signed a lease for 7,400 square feet within Eagledale Plaza, located at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Tibbs Avenue. Finally, Health & Hospitals Inc. dba Wishard Hospital Family Planning Center signed a lease for 5,300 square feet at Eagledale Shopping Center. Downs and Holloway again provided in-house representation for Sandor in negotiations with Wishard Hospital, which was represented by George Crawford of Meridian Real Estate. Terms of all three leases were not disclosed.
ELGIN, ILL. — Arthur J. Rogers & Co. has brokered two leases within Rogers Business Park, a four-building, 232,000-square-foot warehouse/flex project located in Elgin. Antenova Ltd. signed a new lease for 3,900 square feet at 2541 Technology Dr. In addition, Lynk Labs expanded its lease to 5,000 square feet of space at 2511 Technology Dr. Chris Zannis of Arthur J. Rogers represented both parties in both transactions. Terms of the leases were not disclosed.
CHICAGO — Chicago-based Structured Development has completed the redevelopment of the form Jays Foods Inc. plant into a mix of industrial and office space on the city’s Far South Side. The 229,000-square-foot plant, which is located on 14 acres at Cottage Grove Avenue and 99th Street, has been renovated into 180,000-square-foot, two-building multi-tenant complex. The project includes the original 125,000-square-foot building at 825 E. 99th St., as well as a 104,000-square-foot warehouse at 1001 E. 99th St. Structured acquired the property from Jays in 2005 in a sale/leaseback transaction, and the tenant vacated the site in 2007. Structured has hired Jones Lang LaSalle to market the property for sale, while also marketing the available space for lease to office and industrial tenants. Two tenants have leased space within the original building; Wide Open West LLC has taken 32,000 square feet and G.W. Berkheimer leases 20,000 square feet.
CHICAGO — The Oak Brook, Ill., office of Inland Real Estate Brokerage has negotiated the sale of two shopping centers in Chicago for more than $5.8 million. Inland’s Richard Kehoe represented a local investor in the disposition of the property to an independent investment group. Located in West Rogers Park, Howard and Western Plaza comprises 11,974 square feet of retail space. Tenants include Starbucks Coffee, Family Dollar and Subway. Wisner Milwaukee Plaza is a 14,677-square-foot center located at 2847-2865 North Milwaukee Ave. in Logan Square. Tenants include Harris Bank, T-Mobile, Giordano’s and Subway.
AURORA, ILL. — Hotel owner Garlapati Hospitality LLC has opened a $7 million Candlewood Suites at 2625 West Sullivan Rd. in Aurora. The three-floor, 83-room extended-stay hotel is the ninth Candlewood-branded offering to open in the Chicago-area. Candlewood Suites is part of InterContinental Hotels Group’s line of hospitality brands. Amenities include at 24-hour fitness center, a business center and the Gazebo Grill.
BYRON CENTER, MICH. — Bruce Gerhart with the Cleveland office of Love Funding has originated a $5.4 million loan for Railside Living Center in Byron Center. The refinance loan was secured through a HUD 232/223(f) loan program for the assisted living and memory care facility, which features 95 units and 121 beds. Loan terms include a 6.05 percent interest rate and 35-year amortization.
