ST. LOUIS — St. Louis-based KWAME Building Group has been selected as construction manager and owner’s representative for the St. Louis Community College’s new William J. Harrison Northside Education Center, which will be located in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood of St. Louis. The 30,000-square-foot building, which will include classroom facilities, will be constructed to achieve LEED Certification. Construction of the two-story building is expected to begin in winter 2009, with completion slated for 2010. St. Louis-based KAI Design & Build is acting as architect for the $10 million project.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINN. — Minneapolis-based Welsh Cos. has completed the sale of a 48,059-square-foot industrial facility located at 2506 Northland Dr. within the Northland Drive Business Center in Mendota Heights, Minn. Anchor Fasteners has acquired the building from Northland Drive Partnership for approximately $2.39 million. Ted Carlson and Evan Molde of Welsh Cos. represented the seller in the transaction.
BLAIR, NEB. — Omaha, Neb.-based DKC Development Ventures has been selected as project manager for a 12,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail building, which will be located along Highway 30 in Blair. The Hayden Place development will be situated adjacent to a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter. Tenants at the project will include a 1,200-square-foot Scooter’s Coffeehouse, Anytime Fitness and Great Clips. An additional seven outlots ranging in size from .48 acres to 1.72 acres are available at the site. Grading of the retail-building pad is complete, and additional site work is set to begin immediately. Omaha-based Reed Design Architects is acting as architect; Omaha-based Dicon Construction has been selected as general contractor for the project.
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, ILL. — Chicago-based Paine/Wetzel • ONCOR International has completed three industrial transactions totaling approximately 120,000 square feet in Elk Grove Village. Located at 2541-61 Allan Dr., Arrow Plastics has signed a lease for 90,000 square feet of industrial space. Arrow Plastics selected the facility because of its close proximity to the firm’s corporate headquarters, which is also located in Elk Grove Village. Elise Couston of Paine/Wetzel represented Arrow Plastics; Pat McCourt of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord in the transaction. Additionally, Leslie Spinner and Jeffrey Girling of Paine/Wetzel have brokered the sale of an 18,720-square-foot industrial property located at 930 Lee St. The facility includes 3,400 square feet of office space, two loading docks, four drive-in doors and 16-foot clear-height ceilings. Biesterfield Properties LLC has acquired the building from an undisclosed seller. Matt Mulvihill and Sam Durkin of Grubb & Ellis represented the buyer in the transaction. In addition, Lyall Thresher & Associates has acquired an 11,010-square-foot industrial building located at 1101 Tonne Rd. NOBLESVILLE, IND. — Jackson Commercial Real Estate has signed Community Health Network as its first tenant for a new two-story medical office facility, which is being constructed on the southwest corner of 146th Street and Cumberland Road in Noblesville. Hamilton Healthcare Campus will be situated on an 11.5-acre site. Community Health Network will occupy 40,000 square feet on two floors of the 122,000-square-foot building. The medical facility is expected to include primary care services, physician specialists, urgent care, occupational health care, imaging services, a pharmacy, a lab draw station and a community room for patient education and health screenings. Construction of the project, which is expected to cost more than $20 million, began this summer, with occupancy expected in summer 2009.
ROMULUS, MICH. — Colliers International has arranged the lease of 718,654 square feet of industrial space within The Northline Industrial Center, which is located at 38481 Huron River Dr. in Romulus. Comprehensive Logistics Co. has leased the space from Northline LLC. Gary Glotzhober of Colliers International represented the landlord; Ron Gernay of CB Richard Ellis represented the lessee in the transaction. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
WILMETTE, ILL. — Summit Design + Build has completed a 5,738-square-foot renovation and build-out of office space for Sarfatty Associates Ltd. Architects. The office is located at 3201 Old Glenview Rd. in Wilmette. Features of the new space include a full height glass entry, reception area, 29 open office cubicles with potential expansion to 42, three private offices and a full kitchen with a dining area. David Brown of Summit Design + Build acted as project engineer II; Tulio Alvarez, also of Summit Design + Build, acted as superintendent for the project. OMAHA, NEB. — Omaha-based Grubb & Ellis|Pacific Realty has brokered the sale of a 31,766-square-foot retail center located at 11414 Davenport St. in Omaha. Sundance Properties LLC has acquired the property from Shaver Realty Co. Terry Root of Grubb & Ellis|Pacific Realty represented the seller in the transaction. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
MISSOURI AND ILLINOIS — HREC Investment Advisors has brokered the sale of a 13-asset hotel portfolio with various locations in Missouri and Illinois. Totaling 839 rooms, the properties include one Comfort Inn, two Comfort Suites and ten Super 8 Motels. Shivam Hotel LLC, which is managed by Champak Patel of Oklahoma City, has acquired the portfolio from Midwest Lodging Associates for $39.5 million.
