PLAINFIELD, IND. — The Multi-Housing Group of CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has brokered the sale of Lakeside at Walnut Hills, an 84-unit apartment community located at 644 Lakeside Dr. in the Indianapolis suburb of Plainfield. Amy Burmeister and Dane Wilson of CBRE represented the seller, Sundance Property Management; the property was acquired Chimera Property Management for an undisclosed amount.

BATAVIA, ILL. — Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Midland Equities LLC has purchased Wilson Plaza Retail Center, an 11,160-square-foot retail center located at 336 E. Wilson St. in Batavia. Tenants at the property include Fantastic Sam’s, Rosati’s Pizza, 7-Eleven and Subway. Charles Hold and Joseph Jankovsky of Midland Realty & Development represented the buyer; Richard Kehoe of Inland Real Estate Sales represented the seller, Inland Real Estate Corp. Midland Realty & Development will assume management responsibilities for the property.

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO — NAI Bergman has brokered the sale of the former Thompson Manufacturing facility in Circleville. The 226-acre property contains 167,500 square feet of warehouse space and 10,000 square feet of freestanding office space. The buyer, Circleville Pickaway LLC, plans to re-tenant the existing buildings, as well develop the remaining acreage of the property. Joel Shomaeker of NAI Bergman represented the buyer; Tom Sugar of Continental Real Estate represented the seller, Thomas Consumer Electronics. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

GREENWOOD AND INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — Indianapolis-based Thomas English Retail Real Estate opened two The RoomPlace at Harlem Furniture locations in metro Indianapolis. The first store is a 30,000-square-foot location at the 168,000-square-foot Greenwood Shopping Center in Greenwood, on the site of the former Frank’s Nursery & Crafts. The second location is a 33,000-square-foot store at the 158,000-square-foot Castleton Square Pavilion in Indianapolis. The new stores mark the first time for the Chicago-based furniture retailer outside of Chicagoland.

RICHMOND, IND. — Cincinnati-based Grubb & Ellis|West Shell Commercial has completed the sale of Richmond Village Shopping Center, an 11,800-square-foot shopping center located at 3276-3746 National Rd. in Richmond, for $4.1 million. The strip center is 100 percent occupied by a tenant roster that includes Starbucks Coffee, Chipotle, Aspen Dental, Great Clips and The Cellular Connection. It is situated on an outlot in front of newly constructed Kohl’s and Menard’s locations. Chris Prosser and Jeff Johnston of Grubb & Ellis|West Shell Commercial, along with Scot Courtney of Grubb & Ellis|Harding Daum, represented the seller, Cincinnati-based Anchor Properties. The California-based buyer was represented by Ken McLeod and Parker Douglass of Grubb & Ellis’ Los Angeles office.

BENSENVILLE, ILL. — Oak Brook, Ill.-based Inland Real Estate Sales has arranged the sale of Argyle Park Apartments, a 48-unit multifamily community located at 1006 and 1008 Argyle St. in Bensenville, for $3.25 million. The two-building property is comprised of 30 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom units. Bob Edmiston of Inland represented the buyer, Mohawk Apartments, as well as the undisclosed seller.

CINCINNATI — Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers has acquired two shopping centers located at the intersection of Kenwood and Montgomery roads in Cincinnati. Sycamore Plaza is a 355,070-square-foot, three-story property, and is occupied by Barnes & Noble, Macy’s Furniture, Old Navy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Linens ‘N Things, Staples and Jared Jewelers. Sycamore Crossing is a three-building, 35,144-square-foot property, and is occupied by Fresh Market, Starbucks Coffee, Verizon, FedEx and Sprint. The acquisition price was undisclosed.

DETROIT — Vanguard Community Development Corp. has broken ground for the development of Cameron Court Senior Village Apartments, a 48-unit affordable senior housing community located at the intersection of Cameron and Hague streets in Detroit’s North End neighborhood. The independent living community will contain a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. Vanguard received a $1 million construction loan and $7.9 million in low-income housing credit equity from the Detroit Local Initiatives Support Corp. Completion is scheduled for March 2009.

PERKINS TOWNSHIP, OHIO — Hoty Builders, an affiliate of Hoty Enterprises, has completed construction of Commerce Plaza, a 10,200-square-foot shopping center located on U.S. Highway 250 in Perkins Township. The center is anchored by Plato’s Closet, which opened in March. Hoty also recently completed the interior build-out for another tenant, AAA, which has also opened.
