DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. — Elmhurst, Ill.-based International Contractors has completed a 15,000-square-foot expansion at The Avery Coonley School at 1400 Maple Ave. in Downers Grove. The expansion included the construction of a new wing, which includes the school's middle school classrooms; state-of-the-art science labs; and wireless technology throughout. The new wing was completed in less than 9 months with little disruption to the existing classrooms. FGM Architects + Engineers of Oak Brook, Ill., provided architectural and engineering services.

CHICAGO — Chicago-based Newcastle has brokered the sale of a surface parking lot owned by the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, as well as an adjacent four-story retail apartment building located at the corner of Chicago Avenue and State Street in Chicago, for $40 million. The building was sold by a third party and contains a retail component. The properties were acquired by Loyola University, which plans to use the combined 61,470-square-foot site for future expansion. Newcastle represented all parties in the transaction.

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OHIO — Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT has acquired Liberty Falls Medical Plaza, an approximately 44,000-square-foot medical office building located at 6770 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. in Liberty Township. The two-story building is currently 91 percent leased. It is located adjacent to the $83 million Liberty Campus, an outpatient center affiliated with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center that is scheduled to open in August. The seller, as well as the sale price, were undisclosed.

WYOMING, MICH. — Marcus & Millichap has completed the sale of the Majznerski Dental Office, an 8,200-square-foot, single-tenant medical office building located in Wyoming, for $2.29 million in a sale/leaseback transaction. Bill O’Connor of Marcus & Millichap’s Detroit office and Geoff Meekhoff of the firm’s Grand Rapids, Mich., office represented the seller, which signed a new 10-year net lease at the close of the sale. The property was acquired by a private California-based investor.

CRESTWOOD, MO. — The St. Louis office of Q10 | Triad Capital Advisors has arranged $14.9 million in financing for Big Bend Crossing, a 16-acre retail project located at the interchange of Interstate 44 and Big Bend Road in Crestwood. Joe Monteleone of Q10 arranged the loan with State Farm Bank on behalf of the undisclosed borrower. Terms of the loan were also not disclosed.
