McShane Completes 372,000 SF Manufacturing Facility for Schuetz Container Systems in Kenosha, Wisconsin

KENOSHA, WIS. — McShane Construction Co. has completed a build-to-suit manufacturing and distribution facility for Schuetz Container Systems in Kenosha. The manufacturer of industrial packaging is part of Germany-based Schütz Group. McShane provided design-build services for the 372,000-square-foot building, which offers a clear height of 40 feet, 48 truck docks, four drive-in doors, 245 trailer parking spaces and six 4,000-amp power services. The project also includes a two-story, 14,000-square-foot office, mezzanines throughout the manufacturing areas and four interior cranes to assist with equipment installation and moving materials. McShane also completed a railroad extension, bringing three rail lines to the site. Harris Architects served as the architect.

Trident Development to Break Ground on 135-Unit Orchard Place Apartments in Metro Twin Cities

APPLE VALLEY, MINN. — Trident Development is scheduled to break ground on Orchard Place Apartments, a 135-unit development in the Twin Cities suburb of Apple Valley, on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The four-story building will feature studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom options. Preleasing is set to begin in fall 2026 with units ready for occupancy by late 2026. Amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center and yoga studio, sport court, business center, rooftop patio, sky lounge, central courtyard, dog park, children’s play area and walking paths. Project partners include Lyon Contracting Inc., Cole Group Architects, Village Green and Orchard Place Partners LLC.

Gordon Brothers Acquires Former Heartland Coca-Cola Production Facility in Lenexa, Kansas

LENEXA, KAN. — Gordon Brothers has acquired the former Heartland Coca-Cola production facility in Lenexa. Heartland Coca-Cola has expanded its operations to a larger facility, and the production assets and property in Lenexa were no longer required. Gordon Brothers plans to decommission and sell the existing bottling equipment with the firm’s auction partner, New Mill Capital, followed by capital improvements to enhance the property’s marketability for future sale or lease. The machinery and equipment auction begins closing Wednesday, Nov. 12. The property includes a 186,073-square-foot building situated on nearly 9 acres with a clear height of 18 feet, 22 dock-high doors, two drive-in doors and 11,000 amps via three electrical services. Gordon Brothers has retained Kessinger Hunter to provide construction management, property management and brokerage services to re-tenant or sell the building. The building will hit the market in the coming months. The Kessinger Hunter team includes Kurt Jensen, Stewart Jensen and Dan Jensen.

SOUTH ELGIN, ILL. — Krusinski Construction Co. (KCC) has delivered a 14,446-square-foot daycare center for BrightPath Early Learning and Child Care in South Elgin. The project involved the transformation of the first floor of the Medical and Legal Arts Building and marked KCC’s first for BrightPath, part of Busy Bees North America, which operates more than 240 centers across the U.S. and Canada.

Kraus-Anderson Completes $46.6M Redwood Valley Elementary School in Minnesota

REDWOOD FALLS, MINN. — Kraus-Anderson has completed the new $46.6 million Redwood Valley Elementary School at 201 McPhail Drive in southern Minnesota’s Redwood Falls. Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the 85,639-square-foot, two-story project features classrooms, early childhood education, special education, a media center, flex spaces, a gym, cafeteria, storm shelter and secured entries. There are three outdoor play spaces as well as a bus loop, parent drop-off area, parking lots and sidewalks. Construction began in May 2024.

Nabholz Construction Breaks Ground on Fire Safety Facilities, Community Hub in Sedalia, Missouri

SEDALIA, MO. — Nabholz Construction Corp. has broken ground on a new fire station, training facility and bowling alley in central Missouri’s Sedalia. Hoefer Welker designed the facilities. The 8,585-square-foot fire station will replace the previous facility. it will feature a three-bay fire apparatus facility with six bunk rooms, a dayroom and a fitness room. The station will be built with a hot zone design approach, decreasing firefighters’ exposure to smoke, carcinogens and toxic chemicals, according to Hoefer Welker. There will also be a dedicated gear decontamination area and advanced air pressurization and thermal comfort systems. Adjacent to the new fire station, the 2,749-square-foot fire training facility will house two fire apparatus bays and include a workshop and restrooms within the pre-engineered metal building. A separately designed burn tower will serve as a comprehensive classroom. The project will also include an 18,775-squarefoot, 16-lane bowling alley with a commercial kitchen and e-sports center. The bowling alley is being funded through a combination of city funds and a donation from Sue Heckert, a notable donor to several city projects, including the Heckert Community Center. Additional project partners include BHC Engineering, Landworks Studio, Bob D. Campbell & Co. and IMEG.

Located at 464 Southpoint Circle, the property comprises 64,176 rentable square feet on 5.6 acres. Built in 1975, the facility is fully occupied by Nucleated Technologies. Sam Curtis, Joseph DiSalvo and Forest Bender of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller. The all-cash transaction closed in under 30 days.

MISSION, KAN. — Rally House has relocated to Mission West Shopping Center at 6753 Johnson Drive in the Kansas City suburb of Mission. The estimated opening date is spring 2026. Rally House was previously located at 6858 Johnson Drive. The new 9,473-square-foot store will neighbor Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and American Honey Salon. The new space represents an expansion of 2,473 square feet. Grant Summers, Paul Massali, Max Kosoglad and David Block of Block & Co. Inc. Realtors represented the landlord. Block & Co. serves as the leasing and property management company for the shopping center.

Built in 2004, the 288-unit multifamily property features a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. Amenities include a fitness center, pool, sports courts, a playground and picnic area. The asset is located near the shopping destination Hamilton Town Center. Tony Rogers, Aaron Kuroiwa, Austin Meeker and Teddy Kenny of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, the property’s original developer, and procured the buyer, a locally owned and operated company.
