NEW YORK CITY — Red Apple Myrtle Avenue Development is currently constructing 162-184 Myrtle Ave., a 240,000-square-foot mixed-use development located between Flatbush Avenue and Ashland Place in Brooklyn, New York City. Built over three city blocks, the project will feature a low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise buildings. The retail component will encompass three levels, which will feature 61,000 square feet on the ground floor, 79,000 square feet on the lower level and 89,500 square feet on the second level. The building will be anchored by a 10,000-square-foot Duane Reade. The Myrtle Avenue development will also contain 500 residential units. The facility is scheduled for completion in January 2009. Winick Realty Group is handling the leasing for the retail component.
NEW YORK CITY — General Motors Corp. has singed a 120,000-square-foot lease at Citigroup Center in New York City. The automobile maker will be relocating to the space at 153 E. 53rd St. in mid 2009. Citigroup Center is a 1.6 million-square-foot Class A office building owned by Boston Properties. Frank Doyle, Cynthia Wasserberger and David Kleiner of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the building owner in the transaction, and Peter Riguardi, Michael Shenot and Lloyd Desatnick, also of Jones Lang LaSalle, represented General Motors.
LEWISTON, MAINE — Debbie Orloff of NorthMarq Capital’s Boston office has arranged $5.8 million in construction financing for The Bluffs Apartments in Lewiston. The Bluffs will contain 65 two-bedroom townhouse style apartments encompassed within 11 buildings. The loan was arranged by NorthMarq on behalf of the borrower, Randall Road Associates, and was funded by Commerce Bank & Trust Co.
NEW YORK CITY — Judah Hammer and Michael Kesselman of Meridian Capital Group have arranged $2.5 million in refinancing for a commercial strip center in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York City. The 12,100-square-foot center is located on 13802-24 farmers Blvd and contains 10 commercial tenants.
NEW YORK CITY — SJP Residential Properties is constructing Platinum, a 220-unit condominium building situated on Eighth Avenue and 46th St. in Manhattan, New York City. Designed by Costas Kondylis, the multifamily property features a unique lobby with a floating island of granite surrounded by a moat of moving water, as well as a 26-foot long fireplace and a video art wall of 15 plasma screens. The building, which is currently more than 70 percent sold, is set for occupancy this summer.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The Sudler Companies is currently constructing a 90,000-square-foot pre-cast building in its Corporate Park 287 property in Piscataway. Located at 6 Corporate Place, the project is part of an adaptive reuse of a former 231,000-square-foot, two-story office building. The new building will be able to accommodate several uses, including flex, warehouse and data center requirements. Amenities include 32-foot clear ceilings and ample parking. Sudler’s 200-acre Corporate Park 287 is a master planned community that features office and industrial development off Route 287.
IRVINGTON, N.J. — Stephen Elman and James Frank of Cushman & Wakefield’s East Rutherford office have completed the $1.6 million sale of a 26,3000-square-foot warehouse in Irvington. The former Revlon facility is situated off I-78 at 199 Coit St. Elman and Frank represented Revlon in the transaction, and David Blitt and David Posner of Bussel Realty represented the buyer, Island Plumbing.
NEW YORK CITY — Developer Leviev Fulton Club is currently converting a 10-story office building into a 163-unit condominium building, District. Located at 111 Fulton St. in Manhattan, New York City, the building features residences ranging from one-bedroom units to 2,200-square-foot penthouses. Prices for the District’s units range from $515,000 to $3.4 million. Leviev Fulton Club is developing the multifamily project in a partnership with Rotem Rosen of Africa Israel Properties & Development USA and Joseph Klaynberg of Wonder Works Construction.
