LAKE COUNTY, ILL. — Nationwide Health Properties has selected McShane Medical Properties for a 380,000-square-foot property management and leasing assignment. The portfolio includes 12 medical buildings located throughout suburban Chicago’s Lake County and accommodates tenants affiliated with Advocate Condell healthcare system in Libertyville, Ill. The properties include three acute care facilities, traditional medical buildings, an imaging center and two athletic/fitness centers.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro-based Brown Investment Properties and Charlotte, N.C.-based Flagship Capital Partners have purchased the 39,000-square-foot Wesley Long Professional Building from Cone Health System for an undisclosed amount. The three-story medical office property is located at 510 N. Elam Ave. in Greensboro. RBC Capital Advisors provided funding for the purchase. Jim Rogers served as in-house representation for Flagship Capital.

FLOWOOD, MISS. — Southeast Medical Properties I has purchased a 12,000-square-foot building from Cress Realty Group for an undisclosed amount. Located at 2925 Layfair Dr. in Flowood, the property formerly housed Baker Engineering. Southeast Medical plans to turn the space into a medical office facility for University Physicians of Jackson, Miss. Jackson-based Duckworth Realty¹s Breck Hines represented the buyer.

JOHNS CREEK, GA. — Roberts Commercial Real Estate Services has purchased the 72,414-square-foot Johns Creek Medical Office Park from Toledo, Ohio-based Health Care REIT for $7.7 million. The eight-building property, which is 53 percent occupied, is located on Johns Creek Parkway in Johns Creek. John Harrison and Paul Aase served as in-house representation for Roberts Commercial. Houston, Texas-based Colliers Appeit Womack represented the seller.

HOUSTON — Broadstone Real Estate has acquired a medical office building located in Houston in a sale-leaseback transaction. The seller is EyeCare Laser Center; the terms of the lease include a 15-year term with annual rent escalations. The property traded for $2 million. Broadstone made the purchase on behalf of Broadstone Net Lease, a private REIT formed by the company in 2007.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Healthcare Trust of America has purchased a 16-building, 856,000-square-foot medical office portfolio from Greenville Hospital System for $162 million. More than 90 percent of the space purchased is located adjacent to one of the health care provider’s four hospitals. Greenville Hospital System will continue to occupy 84 percent of the buildings purchased.

SAN DIEGO — McCarthy Building Cos. has completed construction of the three-story, 50,000-square-foot Allied Health Building at San Diego Mesa College. Located at 7250 Mesa College Dr. in the Clairemont area of San Diego, the $23 million facility was funded by the $1.56 billion Propositions S and N construction bond program. The facility consists of a computer lab, classrooms, a clinical dental lab, physical therapy lab, medical lab, and faculty and staff offices. Construction of the Allied Health Building began in May 2008.

TEMECULA, CALIF. — Cushman & Wakefield has brokered the sale of a 1,680-square-foot medical office condominium in Temecula. Terms were not disclosed. Located at 31493 Rancho Pueblo Rd. in Rancho Pueblo Center, Unit 11 was purchased by Kishore K. Vasant and Smita K. Vasant, who were represented by Brandon Sudweeks of Sudweeks Commercial Real Estate. Kevin Tremblay of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller Rancho Pueblo I, LLC. The five-building, 109,000-square-foot Rancho Pueblo Center was built in 2007 by Covenant Development.

OMAHA, NEB. — Omaha-based Darland Construction Co. has begun construction for a new academic facility at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. The Harold M. and Beverly Maurer Center for Public Health will be a three-story, 56,978-square-foot building that will house the UNMC College of Public Health. It will contain 106 offices, 11 classrooms and a computer lab. The project will also be seeking LEED certification. The facility will open for the fall 2010 semester. The projects architect is Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture.
