RENO, NEV. — Clark & Sullivan Construction has completed work on the more than $54 million Reno Center of Molecular Medicine at the University of Nevada in Reno. The first new building of its type to be built on campus in more than 20 years, the 140,000-square-foot project featured the addition of a 3-story medical office building and a 3-story laboratory with a bridge connecting to the existing medical school, totaling. Dekker/ Perich/Sabatini was the architect on the project, which commenced in December 2008.
AUSTELL, GA. — McWhirter Realty Partners is developing a 7,000-square-foot surgery center in Austell for Physicians of Pinnacle Orthopaedics. The property will house an outpatient procedure room and two operating rooms stocked with state-of-the-art equipment. Delivery is expected this fall.
KANSAS CITY, MO. — The Weitz Company, serving as general contractor, has completed the first phase of a multi-phase renovation for Two Rivers Behavioral Health Systems, a 105-bed treatment facility in Kansas City. The 49,000-square-foot renovation includes new flooring, millwork, lighting, painting and refinishing. The final phases are scheduled for completion in November. Boca Raton, Fla.-based In-Design provided architectural and design services for the project.
HUMBLE, TEXAS — PinPoint Commercial and Humble Surgical Hospital LLC have completed a 30,000-square-foot surgical hospital in Humble. The facility is located at 1475 FM 1960 Bypass E. The property contains six operating rooms, an emergency room, two treatment rooms and a handful of recovery rooms. PinPoint also is planning a 45,000-square-foot medical office building next to the hospital. The development is slated to break ground this fall.
RICHMOND, VA. — Lingerfelt Development has broken ground on the 70,000-square-foot OrthoVirginia Building for West End Orthopaedic Clinic and CJW Medical Center. The $25 million sports medicine and rehabilitation property will be located in Boulders Corporate Park at the intersection of Chippenham Parkway and Jahnke Road in Richmond. Price Studios designed the project, which will be built to LEED standards by Hourigan Construction. Delivery is slated for next summer.
POCATELLO, IDAHO — Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT II has acquired a 98.75 percent interest in the 76,000-square-foot, Class A Pocatello East Medical Office Building located at 777 Hospital Way in Pocatello. Built in 2007, the four-story facility is 100 percent leased to Pocatello Health Services LLC and Pocatello Hospital LLC, which are signed through 2018 and 2019, respectively. Shattuck Hammond Partners’ Philip J. Camp and Laca Wong Hammond represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. Pocatello East Medical Office Building is attached to the 250-bed Portneuf Medical Center, the only acute-care facility within 50 miles. A current renovation and expansion project will add 300,000 square feet to the medical center by mid-2011.
OCEANSIDE, CALIF. — Rockefeller Group Development Corp., a subsidiary of New York-based The Rockefeller Group, has completed the development of an 84,000-square-foot outpatient clinic for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The clinic is located within Seagate Corporate Center at 1300 Rancho Del Oro in Oceanside. The two-story facility features a back-up generator for emergency power and two MRI pads that accommodate the onsite mobile MRI units. San Diego-based Smith Consulting Architects provided architectural services; San Diego-based Raymond Fox & Associates provided medical architectural and interior design services; Reno Contracting of San Diego served as general contractor for the project. Additionally, Capital Partners Development Co. provided project development management; RBF Consulting served as civil and traffic engineers; and Ridge Landscape Architects provided landscape architectural services for the facility.
GREENVILLE, N.C. — Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN plans to purchase the 72,000-square-foot St. Francis Outpatient Center from a private seller for $16 million. The property, which is fully leased to St. Francis Hospital, is located near Easley Bridge Road in Greenville. The property opened in 2001.
CARMEL, IND. — Browning Investments is developing a new headquarters facility for Indiana Spine Group. The new facility is located within Browning’s Meridian & Main development, located at the corner of U.S. Highway 31 and 131 Street in Carmel. Browning Construction will construct a three-story, 60,000-square-foot medical office building for the group. The facility will feature a 15,600-square-foot ambulatory surgery center with three class C operating rooms, and MRI and CT scanning equipment, as well as associated support facilities. Additionally, the building will house medical offices and a state-of-the-art learning-skills training lab. Construction is scheduled to begin in early August.
WADESBORO, N.C. — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the $1.62 million sale of the 7,762-square-foot Fresenius Medical Care building between two undisclosed parties. The property is located at 2349 US Highway 74 West in Wadesboro. The firm's Scott Niedergang, Brian Parmacek and Steve Rachman represented the seller. James Rea and Brian Munn of the firm's Atlanta office represented the buyer. Gary Lucas also helped close the deal.
