CHICAGO — Oxford Hotels & Resorts LLC, the Chicago-based hotel management affiliate of Oxford Capital Group LLC, has opened Hotel Audrey at 166 E. Superior St. within Chicago’s Magnificent Mile shopping district. Oxford worked with Fillmore Capital Partners to reposition the 29-story hotel, which was originally developed as The Barclay Hotel. Each of the 216 guestrooms and suites includes an executive desk, ergonomic chair, 55-inch flatscreen TV, coffeemaker and complimentary Wi-Fi. The suites include a separate living area with a sleeper sofa. Rooms start at $159 per night. The fitness center is equipped with ellipticals, treadmills and other workout machines. Due to COVID-19, all areas of the hotel are sanitized at an increased frequency with approved disinfecting products. The rooftop bar, café and meeting spaces will not open until 2021.

ST. LOUIS — Midas Hospitality is set to open the first Element by Westin hotel in St. Louis on Friday, Oct. 30. The $40 million hotel rises seven stories with 153 extended-stay rooms. Located at 3763 Forest Park Ave., the property will feature a rooftop bar known as Upbar. Signature cocktails were created in partnership with Luxco, a St. Louis-based beverage company. Hotworx, a 24-hour fitness studio, is the first tenant for the hotel’s 10,000-square-foot retail space. Hotworx will occupy nearly 1,900 square feet. Amenities at the hotel include a fitness center, pool and bike rental program. Element hotels feature a nature-influenced environment and are constructed with efficiency and sustainability in mind, according to Midas. Regarding COVID-19, Upbar will be open and Midas intends to abide by all city and state regulations, including the potential removal of barstools or tables to provide for proper social distancing. The fitness center will also be open, following all restrictions by the city and state.
LAS VEGAS — Los Angeles-based CIM Group has completed Gallery Tower, an eight-story expansion at Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The 495-room Gallery Tower is the first new ground-up hotel constructed in more than 10 years in downtown Las Vegas, according to CIM. Set to debut on Sept. 22, Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino will now offer guests a total of 1,124 rooms in an assortment of configurations, including three new 1,500-square-foot penthouse suites. The hotel and casino property spans two full city blocks between Casino Center Boulevard and North Fourth Street, and East Ogden and East Stewart avenues. The 250,000-square-foot Gallery Tower features Downtown Grand’s industrial chic aesthetic and derives its name from the property’s art collection, featuring works by local and national artists. Gallery Tower guests have direct access to Downtown Grand’s rooftop pool deck and the hotel’s ground-floor casino, dining and entertainment venues. CIM Group redeveloped and repositioned Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino to offer a boutique hotel experience when the property opened in 2013.
ORLANDO, FLA. — Epelboim Development Group has delivered the 259-room Tru by Hilton Orlando Convention Center. The new hotel, which opened Sept. 3, marks Tru by Hilton’s largest property to-date and first in Orlando. The hotel is located at 6461 Westwood Blvd., nine miles northeast of the Orlando Convention Center and 13 miles southwest of downtown Orlando. The eight-story hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi, free parking, a pool, fitness center and a business center. The Aventura, Fla.-based developer opened the property with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines in place. The Hilton CleanStay Program has been implemented at the property, and some services and amenities have been adjusted in response to COVID-19. New York City-based Highgate is managing the hotel.
BURLINGTON, IOWA — Marcus & Millichap has brokered the $1.6 million sale of a Howard Johnson hotel in Southeast Iowa’s Burlington. The 96-room property is located at 2759 Mt. Pleasant St. near the Catfish Bend Casino and Burlington Regional Airport. Ebrahim Valliani, Allan Miller and Chris Gomes of Marcus & Millichap marketed the hotel on behalf of the seller, a limited liability company. The buyer information was undisclosed.
HOUSTON — Dallas-based Provident Realty Advisors has opened the 75-room Extended Stay America-Houston-Kingwood hotel on the city’s north side. Guestrooms feature fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators and stovetops, as well as private workspaces. Amenities include a pool, fitness center and onsite laundry facilities.
EAGAN, MINN. — Kraus-Anderson (KA) has completed construction of the $98 million Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in Eagan, just south of Minneapolis. The 320-room hotel, located at 2611 Nordic Way, is scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 1. The 381,163-square-foot property is part of the larger Viking Lakes mixed-use development that includes the Twin Cities Orthopedic Performance Center for the Minnesota Vikings, which KA completed in 2018. The 14-story hotel features 35,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and meeting areas. Amenities include a spa, fitness center, bar terrace and three dining options. MW Ventures owns the hotel. ESG Architects served as designer.
Crystal Investment Property Brokers Sale of Quality Inn & Suites in Toppenish, Washington

TOPPENISH, WASH. — Crystal Investment Property (CIP) has arranged the sale of the Quality Inn & Suites in Toppenish. Terms of the transaction were not released. The hotel features 44 guest rooms with interior corridors and room entrances in a mix of accessible rooms, suites, kitchenettes and family rooms. On-site amenities include a breakfast area, exercise room, guest laundry, truck/bus/RV parking and a business center. Additionally, the property offers excess land for potential development of hotel amenities and/or expansion. CIP represented the undisclosed seller in the sale. The name of the buyer was also not disclosed.
MIAMI BEACH, FLA. — The Historic Preservation Board (HPB) of the City of Miami Beach has approved the three-acre master plan for the redevelopment of the historic Raleigh, South Seas and Richmond hotels. Real estate owner and developer Michael Shvo plans to fully restore the three properties and unify them as one site to be operated as a luxury hotel and condominium building. Project costs are estimated at $750 million. The approved plan also includes construction of a new 175-foot oceanfront residential tower behind the Richmond and South Seas. The developer agreed to trim the height from 200 feet, according to the Miami Herald. No further approvals are needed and construction is expected to begin within the year. Shvo will restore the Raleigh Hotel and its iconic pool as well as the historic frontage of the Richmond and South Seas to their original 1941 grandeur. Legendary architect L. Murray Dixon was the original designer. The pool was used in several movies, including The Birdcage, Bad Boys and Up Close and Personal. Shvo and his team worked with HPB and Miami Beach stakeholders to ensure that the proposed plans would maintain the buildings’ original facades.
