COLCHESTER, VT. — Norwich Properties has completed the disposition of Residence Inn Burlington Colchester, an extended-stay hotel located in Colchester. AAM 15 Management acquired the 108-suite property for an undisclosed price. Completed in 2010, the hotel features suites with fully equipped kitchens, an indoor swimming pool and soaking tub, a fitness facility, a business center, a sundries shop, a barbecue and picnic area, complimentary hot breakfast and the Residence Inn Mix, evening socials. Denny Meikleham, Alan Suzuki and Matthew Enright of HFF represented the seller in the deal.

WACO, TEXAS — A partnership between Civitas Capital Group and Atlantic Hotels Group has purchased the 93-room TownePlace Suites in Waco. The hotel is located within Legends Crossing, a 150-acre, mixed-use development near the downtown area and Baylor University. Amenities include a pool, fitness center and business center. The transaction marks the partnership’s second acquisition of a Waco hotel in the last two months.
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of Comfort Suites Texas Avenue College Station, a three-story, 54-room hotel located at 2313 Texas Ave. South in College Station. Steve Swenholt, Allan Miller and Chris Gomes of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller and procured the buyer, both of which are private investors.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. — DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston – Cambridge has completed a $4 million renovation to the guest suites. The renovation will introduce the brand’s modern suite concept, Urban Bed, to the Boston market. Each of the 170 two-room Urban Bed suites offer travelers a flexible living space with a full-size pull-down bed that can be utilized on demand. Unlike a sofa bed, the Urban Bed does not fold, providing additional guests the same comfort of a standard DoubleTree Suites by Hilton bed. Additionally, the suites feature a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker in the living room, as well as a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed. Other renovations include upgrades to the remaining 138 guest rooms, including King Bed guest rooms with balconies, standard two-room King Suites, two-story Loft King Suites and the Presidential Suite. Additionally, the property’s Scullers Jazz Club was renovated to increase its capacity to 200 seats per show.
EL PASO, TEXAS — Condor Hospitality Trust Inc., a Maryland-based lodging REIT, has acquired the Fairfield Inn & Suites El Paso Airport, a Marriott-branded hotel located at 6611 Edgemere Blvd. in El Paso. Condor Hospitality purchased the asset from the undisclosed seller for $19 million. Amenities include a pool, fitness center and a business center. Condor Hospitality has retained Aimbridge Hospitality to manage the hotel.
CENTNENIAL, COLO. — A joint venture between MBC Partners and Rob Mossburg, Bill Booth and Chris Copps of Corient Venture Partners has opened the 146-room WaterWalk hotel in Centennial. The 123,378-square-foot asset is located at 11400 E. Peakview Ave. The property is a hybrid hotel and apartment concept. It was originally planned as a corporate site but is now the company’s first franchise location to open. WaterWalk combines the space and comfort of apartment living with the services of an upscale hotel. Business travelers can stay for a few nights or several months during relocations, training or projects. Rooms feature fully equipped modern kitchens, full-size in-room washers and dryers, housekeeping and customized breakfast options. Other amenities include an on-site fitness center, 300 DirecTV channels, internet and 24/7 front desk service. WaterWalk was created by entrepreneur Jack DeBoer, founder of Residence Inn (now Marriott), Candlewood Suites, Value Place/WoodSpring Suites and Summerfield Suites (now Hyatt House). This is the second WaterWalk property. The first opened in Wichita, Kan., in November 2014.
SAN ANTONIO — Siegel Group, a Las Vegas-based investment and hospitality firm, has acquired the former Budget Lodge Extended Stay Hotel in San Antonio for $3.3 million. Built in 1963 and situated on 6.6 acres along Interstate 35, the two-story property totals approximately 80,000 square feet. Siegel Group plans to repurpose some of the existing space to include a restaurant and lounge, as well as a conference and banquet area.
TERRE HAUTE, IND. — Dora Hotel Co. LLC and Gibson Development LLC are developing a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Terre Haute, located in western Indiana. The 91-suite, extended-stay hotel will be located at 2625 S. Sycamore Crossing St. Amenities will include Wi-Fi, pool and deck, fitness room, guest laundry, grilling patio and outdoor lounge. The lobby will feature an open-area floor plan known as the Oasis, designed to alternate between a breakfast area and a workspace. First Financial Bank NA is providing construction financing. Completion is slated for September 2018.
LAS VEGAS — A partnership between Witkoff and New Valley LLC has purchased the former Fountainbleau resort on the Las Vegas Strip for $600 million. The property is located at 2755 Las Vegas Blvd. S. The 63-story resort never fully saw the light of day after construction ceased on the $2.9 billion, 3,900-room property in 2009 in the midst of the Great Recession. It was purchased by Carl Icahn’s firm, Icahn NV Gaming Acquisition LLC, in 2010 for $150 million when the asset was in bankruptcy. The property is situated across from Circus Circus, near Encore and SLS Las Vegas. It sits in front of the Westgate Las Vegas, as well as the Las Vegas Convention Center, which is in the midst of a $1.4 billion expansion and renovation. The asset was acquired at a substantial discount to replacement cost, according to Witkoff. FRISCO, TEXAS — Omni Hotels & Resorts and the Dallas Cowboys have officially cut the ribbon for the Omni Frisco Hotel, a 16-story hotel in Frisco. Situated within The Star development, the 300-room hotel in Frisco officially opened in July and features dining outlets including Neighborhood Services, Edge Bar and Lobby Bar. Gensler is the architect of record, and Wilson Associates consulted on the project. The hotel features 24,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive views of The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ practice fields and the Championship Plaza.
