SINGER ISLAND, FLA. — Bethesda, Md.-based Urgo Hotels has purchased the 239-unit Resort at Singer Island from WCI Communities for $7.1 million. The property, which is located on 6 acres of beachfront land in Singer Island, has been rebranded as the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa. Amenities include an 8,500-square-foot spa, a 1,170-square-foot fitness center and an infinity pool. Urgo purchased the property out of bankruptcy.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — As part of Hotel Indigo’s North Carolina expansion, Hospitality and Lodging Investors II has opened the 100-room Hotel Indigo Asheville. The property is located at 151 Haywood St. The building is decorated with locally inspired artwork and materials from throughout the region. Guest rooms contain flat-screen TVs and spa-inspired showers.

NEW YORK CITY — Construction has topped out for the new $72 million Doubletree Hotel located in downtown Manhattan, New York City. The building, which is situated at 8 Stone St., rises 43 stories and will contain 399 rooms in 148,000 square feet of space. It is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2010. It is owned by ABI and AL-Stone LLC. The construction manager is CNY Builders and the project architect is Gene Kaufman Architect PC.

EDISON, N.J. — Following a multi-million dollar renovation, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open a five-story Crowne Plaza at 2055 Lincoln Highway in Edison. The newly renovated facility will consist of 169 oversized guest rooms with all-new case goods, soft goods and granite vanities. Other upgrades include a new lighting package, a ballroom and lobby décor and a new courtyard. Amenities will include a steakhouse and lounge, a business center, a fitness room, a concierge lounge and complimentary parking. The hotel will contain more than 12,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, as well as offer the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, which provides a restful environment along with sleep products and services. Located 15 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport and a half-hour drive from New York City and the New Jersey shore, the hotel is also in close proximity to Rutgers University, Raritan Convention Center and Woodbridge Mall. Its location also offers access to the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. Restaurant Rt. 27 LLC, owns the property under a license agreement with an IHG company. Occupancy is slated for second quarter 2008.

DENTON, TEXAS — A new Best Western Atrea has opened near downtown Denton. Situated in the Interstate 35 East Corridor, the 74-room hotel is the fourth hotel for the new concept, which caters to business travelers. The hotel includes 1,800 square feet of meeting space ranging from board rooms to the 100-person Atrea Hall. Other amenities include a cocktail lounge, a media center, a business center, a fitness center, a convenience store, and an outdoor pool and spa. The hotel is owned by Charles Helm, who also serves on the board of directors for Best Western International, and his wife, Sharon.

LAS VEGAS — InterContinental Hotels Group has announced that the Holiday Inn Las Vegas will open next month 1 mile from the Strip. Flamingo Structures LLC has invested $35 million to develop the 129-room property, which will offer a variety of amenities including Forte Grille, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and 42-inch flat-screen televisions in each guestroom. The location will showcase the hotel chain’s new sign, which represents the standards of the $1 billion Holiday Inn brand re-launch program.

FLORENCE, S.C. — As part of a continuing effort to exit the hospitality business, Motel Associates has sold its leasehold interest in Country Hearth Inn to Blair Square LLC for an undisclosed amount. Located at the intersection of highways 52 and 21 in Florence, the property is situated less than 12 miles from Darlington International Speedway. The buyer will undertake renovations to the hotel.

HANCOCK, MASS. — NorthMarq Capital has arranged $10 million in permanent financing for Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort in Hancock. Constructed in 1948, Jiminy Peak is a four-season resort that offers skiing and snowboarding in the summer and the Mountain Adventure Park in the summer. It also contains conference and wedding facilities. Debbie Orloff of NorthMarq's Boston office secured the financing on behalf of the undisclosed borrower through the lender, Berkshire Bank. Terms of the loan were also not released.

KISSIMMEE, FLA. — Supertel Hospitality has sold the 187-room Masters Inn East of Kissimmee to Royal Hotel Group Florida for an undisclosed amount. The property is located 2 miles from Walt Disney World. The buyer, a family investment group, plans to undertake exterior renovations to the property. Mumford Co. represented Supertel in the transaction.
