COLUMBIA, S.C. — Shree Sambhav LLC has sold the 96-room Comfort Inn of Columbia/Ft. Jackson to South Carolina Sunshine Hotel Group for an undisclosed price. The three-story property is located in Columbia. The buyer plans to undertake renovations to the hotel and retain its brand. CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — R-Roof V-I has sold a 112-room Red Roof Inn to Chattanooga-based Ganesh Hotel Group for an undisclosed price. The buyer will undertake renovations to the 34,000-square-foot property, which is located near the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport in Chattanooga. Atlanta-based Hodges Ward Elliott’s focused service division represented the seller, and Ganesh was represented in house.
ALLEN, TEXAS — The topping out ceremony has been held for the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas – Allen Hotel & Conference Center, located in Allen. The hotel totals nine stories with 228 rooms and an adjoining 15,000-square-foot conference center. It features a full-service restaurant, a 24-hour convenience store, a lounge with big-screen televisions, a business center, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, and a fitness center. The conference center features a 9,300-square-foot ballroom with a 1,300-person capacity. The project is owned by John Q. Hammons and will be operated by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. Crossland Construction is serving as general contractor. Completion of the project is scheduled for October 2008. The new Courtyard by Marriott is situated at 210 E. Stacy Rd. within the Village at Allen, one component of Dallas-based MGHerring Group’s 3 million-square-foot Village at Allen and Village at Fairview mixed-use project. The Village at Allen component opened in October 2008. The new hotel will be located adjacent to the new $50 million Allen Event Center, a 7,500-person venue that is slated to open in November.
WINCHESTER, VA. — Mumford Co. has completed the sale of the Comfort Inn – North, an 82-room hotel located at 1601 Martinsburg Pike in Winchester. David Mumford of Mumford Co.’s Newport News, Va., office and Steve Kirby of the firm’s Atlanta office represented the seller, an affiliate of Beck Co. The buyer, RDM Hospitality LLC, acquired the property for an undisclosed amount.
NAPERVILLE, ILL. — A 144-room Hotel Arista has been completed within CityGate Centre, which is a 1 million-square-foot mixed-use development located in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. The hotel, which is affiliated with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, was developed by Calamos Real Estate LLC Development. Amenities at the property include 10,000 square feet of meeting space, a 95-seat signature restaurant, SugarToad, and a 12,000 square-foot spa, salon and fitness center that is set to open in the spring. Chicago-based Lohan Associates designed the facility to achieve LEED Certification. The hotel is managed by Hotel Arista Management Co. The cost of completing the project was not disclosed.
KENNER, LA. — Atlanta-based InterContinental Hotels Group has completed a $28 million renovation and branding change of a former Holiday Inn Select in Kenner. The new 292-room Crowne Plaza New Orleans-Airport is located at 2829 Williams Blvd. The owners, 2929 Williams Blvd. LLC, decided to renovate after Hurricane Katrina decimated the property. The hotel includes 12,000 square feet of meeting space, a swimming pool and a fitness center.
DETROIT — A 30-story hotel tower has been completed at the Greektown Casino-Hotel, which is located at 555 E. Lafayette Ave. in Detroit’s Greektown Entertainment District. The 420,000-square-foot hotel houses 400 rooms, including 29 two- and three-bedroom suites. Amenities at the property include a business/concierge center, a fitness center, Shades Lounge and Bistro 555. The cost of completing the hotel, which opened on February 12, was not disclosed.
BOLINGBROOK, ILL. — On behalf of developer LTD Management Co., Rosemont, Ill.-based McShane Construction Co. has topped out the aloft Hotel located on Boughton Road in Bolingbrook. The new hotel is situated within The Promenade Bolingbrook, which is a mixed-use development featuring more than 1 million square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment. McShane Construction broke ground on the 77,352-square-foot aloft Hotel in June 2008, and completion is slated for July. The 155-room property will include a state-of-the-art meeting room, a fitness center and a swimming pool. Campbell Architects provided designed services for the project. The hotel is a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
GETTYSBURG, PA. — Hunter Realty Associates has brokered the sale of an 80-room Comfort Inn, located at 871 York Rd. in Gettysburg, for $4.7 million. The hotel features an indoor pool and a business center. The buyer, Zrii LLC, plans to complete minor renovations to the property. The seller was Supertel Hospitality.
TEMPLE, TEXAS — Mumford Co. has brokered the sale of a 99-room hotel located near Interstate 35 in Temple. In addition to guestrooms, the hotel features food and beverage options that include a separate lounge. Mike Francis of Mumford’s Dallas office negotiated the transaction between the buyer, Managal Murty LLC, and the seller, GE Capital Corp. The buyer plans to renovate and re-open the hotel. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
