WICHITA, KAN. — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened a Staybridge Suites hotel in Wichita. Located at 2250 N. Greenwich Rd., the 88-room property offers deluxe studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom room options. Additionally, guest amenities include in-room CD/DVD players, workstations, speakerphones with direct-dial numbers, personal voice mail and fully equipped kitchens. The property also features a complimentary daily breakfast and laundry service, workout facilities, a 24-hour business center, 400 square feet of meeting space, a guest library and BridgeMart, a 24-hour convenience store. The hotel is owned by Keystone-DKC/Midas Holdings and managed by Midas Hospitality under a license agreement with a company in IHG.

YONKERS, N.Y. — The grand opening has been held for the new Residence Inn by Marriott in Yonkers. The four-story hotel is located at 7 Executive Blvd. It contains 144 rooms, with a mix of 117 studios, 19 one-bedrooms and eight two-bedrooms. Amenities include meeting facilities, a business center, a fitness center and an indoor pool. The $31 million project was designed by Boston-based Group One and developed by an affiliate of Overland Park, Kan.-based True North Hotel Group.
FORT MYERS, FLA. — Florida-based Debary Hospitality has purchased a 50-room Econo Lodge in Fort Myers from Fidelity Bank for an undisclosed amount. The property was sold 3 weeks after Fidelity purchased the asset in the foreclosure process. Ken Olipra of Greene, Canfield, De George brokered the sale.
NEW YORK CITY — New York City's first Hotel Indigo has opened within Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. The Hotel Indigo New York City – Chelsea is a 20-story building located at 127 W. 28th St. It features 122 rooms, including two penthouse suites. Amenities include 24-hour business and fitness centers, and meeting spaces. The hotel also features Blu, an American bistro-style restaurant, and Glass Bar, a rooftop lounge. The hotel is owned and managed by Fortuna Realty under a license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group.
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. — Palmetto Hospitality of West Palm Beach has opened the 114-unit Homewood Suites by Hilton West Palm Beach at 2455 Metrocentre Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Amenities include an executive business center, 600 square feet of meeting space, a swimming pool, a putting green and a BBQ area. OTO Development will manage the property.
RUSSELLVILLE, ALA. —Russellville Hospitality’s 60-room Russellville Hotel and Suites has joined the Best Western family, becoming Best Western Russellville Hotel and Suites. The property is located at 13770 Highway 43 in Russellville. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a banquet and conference space.
NEW ORLEANS — Orient-Express Hotels has sold the 322-room Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans to a partnership between New Orleans-based The Berger Companies and Dallas-based Crow Holdings for an undisclosed amount. The 23-story hotel features more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, an art collection and a pool. Ron Danko and Bradley Burwell of CB Richard Ellis’ New York City office represented Orient Express in the transaction.
SUISUN CITY, CALIF. — Basin Street Hospitality, a division of Basin Street Properties, has opened the Hampton Inn & Suites Suisun City Waterfront Hotel. Located at Two Harbor Center Drive in the expanding business corridor between the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento and just minutes away from Napa Valley, the 102-room hotel offers high-quality room accommodations as well as an outdoor pool and spa and meeting rooms. Hartmut Ott is general manager of the Hilton property.
MIRAMAR, FLA. — Luckey’s Management has completed a 122-room Hampton Inn & Suites at the Miramar Park of Commerce in Miramar. Hotel amenities include 1,500 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a business center. The five-story property is located at 10990 Marks Way.
LA CROSSE, WIS. — La Crosse-based Northside Development and North Liberty, Iowa-based Kinseth Hospitality Corp. have broken ground for the development of Candlewood Suites in La Crosse. Located within Three Rivers Plaza on Copeland Avenue, the four-story, 92-unit hotel is slated for delivery in spring 2010. Locally owned Borton Construction is serving as general contractor; Holmen, Wis.-based MBA Architects is providing architectural services for the project. Citizens Bank of La Crosse has provided financing for the development.
