CAMPBELL, CALIF. — Irving, Texas-based Huntington Hotel Group has purchased an approximately 3.5-acre hotel development site located at 655 Creekside Way in Campbell. Sand Hill Property Co. sold the parcel, which is entitled for development prior to the sale, for an undisclosed price. Huntington Hotel plans to develop a 162-room Courtyard by Marriott on the site. The hotel will be part of a master-planned stretch of property, which will include the five-story, 170,000-square-foot Creekside Office Park project. RAHWAY, N.J. — The grand opening has been held for the new Hotel Indigo Skyview Rahway, a 100-room boutique hotel located in Rahway. The hotel is part of a mixed-use development located in the city’s downtown area and arts district, and includes luxury condominiums and retail space, in addition to the hotel. The Hotel Indigo features fitness facilities, a casual restaurant, a full-service spa that will open in the fall, a 24-hour business center, two meeting rooms and high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel. The hotel is owned by Carriage City Hospitality, and will be managed by Atlanta-based InterContinental Hotels Group. The opening marks the first Hotel Indigo to open in New Jersey and the seventeenth worldwide.
LAS VEGAS — Cannery Casino Resorts is developing Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel, which is located at 5255 Boulder Hwy. in Las Vegas. Slated to open August 28th, the $250 million property consists of a 16-story tower of bronze, glass and steel featuring a saw-tooth roofline. The casino offers more than 2,100 slot machines, 26 table games, a 450-seat bingo hall, a live keno lounge, a first-class poker room and a Race and Sports Book. The 300-room property also features 20,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, as well as a variety of restaurants and eateries, including CarveSM, Casa Cocina®, Sweet Lucy’s Tableside BuffetSM, The DeliSM, Snaps 24-Hour CaféSM and ONE SIXSM.
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — RockBridge Partners LLC has acquired a 461-room, four-hotel portfolio, the 31,933-square-foot mixed-use Gateway Center and a 4.57-acre parcel of land, all located in an area 1 mile east of I-95 off U.S. 64 in Rocky Mount, for $45.9 million. The hotels will be managed by Atlanta-based Hospitality Ventures and include a 168-room Holiday Inn, a 78-room Residence Inn, a 90-room Courtyard by Marriott and a 125-room Comfort Inn. The Holiday Inn is undergoing a $6.5 million transformation into a 166-room Doubletree, and the other three hotels will receive $2 million in renovations.
ONTARIO, CALIF. — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the 16th Hotel Indigo property and the first property in California with the opening of Hotel Indigo Ontario Rancho Cucamonga. Located at 3333 Shelby St. in Ontario, the 92-room hotel is the first boutique hotel in the city. The hotel features oversized lobby chairs; inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hardwood floors and spa-inspired showers; a Phitness studio with cardio equipment and free weights; Phi, an on-site casual dining restaurant; a 24-hour business center; two meeting rooms; a complimentary airport shuttle and wireless high-speed Internet access. The hotel is owned by 3333 Shelby LLC and managed by Rim Hospitality, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
PARK CITY, UTAH AND SAN DIEGO — Rockford Hotels LLC has purchased The Hampton Inn & Suites and the Holiday Inn Express in Park City. Both properties are slated for upgrades and modernizations. The transaction price was not disclosed. Additionally, the company recently acquired Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn in San Diego for an undisclosed price. Rockford Hotels also completed a multi-million dollar renovation and repositioning of the property, which is located in close proximity to the airport and bayside businesses. George Brown of Westland Village, Calif.-based Brown Hotel Group Inc. represented Rockford in all three transactions. The sellers were not disclosed in either transaction.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Glenmont AHDP LLC, a joint-venture between Sarasota, Fla.-based American Hotel Development Partners and New York City-based Glenmont Capital Management LLC, has opened its 112-room Candlewood Suites Hotel Columbia, located near the intersection of I-77 and Garners Ferry Rd. Room amenities at the extended-stay hotel include a fully-equipped kitchen, a free movie library and free high-speed Internet. The facility also houses a fitness center and a free laundry service.
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Greenville-based Windsor/Aughtry Co. has brokered the sale of WAL Lodging II LLC’s 110-room Homewood Suites By Hilton, located at 102 Carolina Point Pkwy. in Greenville, to Millennium Hotel Group LLC for an undisclosed amount. Bill Fayssoux and Jay Alexander of Windsor/Aughtry represented WAL in the sale.
ATHENS, GA. — Construction has started on Atlanta-based Rialto Property Partners and Savannah, Ga.-based Melavar’s 130-room Hotel Indigo in downtown Athens. The property is being built to Gold LEED standards, and environmental features include an outdoor cistern to collect rainwater for irrigation, energy efficient heating and cooling systems and regenerative elevators. An outdoor garden lounge, an art gallery and an adjacent music venue are also part of the development, which will deliver in the fall of 2009.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — EnviroFinance Group has provided $27.5 million in financing for the acquisition and remediation of Liberty Harbor North, a 2.7-acre waterfront brownfield site located in Jersey City. The borrower, Statue of Liberty Harbor North Redevelopment Urban Renewal LLC, plans to clean up the site and subsequently develop it into a 564,000-square-foot hotel and residential property. It will feature a 313-room Conrad Hilton hotel, as well as 470 for-sale and rental condominiums. Completion of the clean up is expected to take less than 1 year; the hotel/residential project is slated for completion in 2012.
