BRYAN AND COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — The Jenkins Organization, a Houston-based owner-operator, has opened Great Escapes RV Resorts Bryan College Station, an 87-acre development in Central Texas. In addition to 334 sites, the development houses 64 cabins, a clubhouse with multiple games, two pools, pickleball courts, a fitness center and laundry facilities.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-based Extended Stay America has signed a development agreement with a partnership comprising Concord Hospitality and Whitman Peterson to build 15 new Extended Stay America Premier Suites hotels. The properties will be located in major markets throughout the West, including Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Concord Hospitality is a hotel management and development company based in Raleigh, N.C., and will handle the development, branding and operations of the properties. Whitman Peterson is a private real estate equity company based in Westlake Village, Calif. The firm will provide equity, identify markets and assist with development. “Extended Stay America Premier Suites has a unique business model that will allow us to reach business and corporate extended-stay travelers looking for a higher level of amenities,” says Mark Laport, CEO and president of Concord. “This agreement is the first step in increasing our presence in the higher-end extended-stay segment.” The Extended Stay America Premier Suites brand comprises both new construction and renovated properties with upgraded amenities, including fully equipped kitchens, apartment-style layouts for working and dining, free in-room Wi-Fi, cable, onsite guest laundry, free breakfast and upgraded design elements such as larger TVs, increased storage space and a …

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A partnership between The Montford Group and Opterra Capital has acquired the 136-room Aloft Charleston Airport and Convention Center hotel by Marriott in North Charlesotn. The hotel is situated across I-526 from Charleston International Airport and near the Tanger Outlets Charleston. The new ownership plans to invest nearly $3 million to renovate the hotel and has hired Aimbridge Hospitality as a third-party operator. The seller and sales price were not disclosed. The hotel features a fitness center, business center, market, lounge, indoor pool and dry cleaning services. In addition to the Aloft hotel, Montford and Opterra Capital are currently developing four hotels in the Charleston market, including Moxy by Marriott, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in early 2023.

MARSHALL, MICH. — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of the 62-room Quality Inn hotel in Marshall, about 47 miles south of Lansing. The sales price was undisclosed. Built in 1997, the property sits on two acres at 204 Winston Drive. Ebrahim Valliani and Michael Klar of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, a private investor. The duo, along with colleague Steve Chaben, represented the buyer, a New York-based limited liability company. Marcus & Millichap’s Allan Miller and Chris Gomes were also listed on the deal as supporting brokers.

NEW YORK CITY — Cushman & Wakefield has brokered the $5.5 million sale of a 25-room motel located at 1440 E. 222nd St. in The Bronx. Jonathan Squires, Josh Neustadter and Austin Weiner of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, Bay Chester Motel Inc., in the transaction. An entity doing business as Bay Plaza 1440 LLC purchased the motel, which includes 35 parking spaces and will be delivered vacant.

GREENWICH, CONN. — An affiliate of Hawaii-based Trinity Real Estate Investments has acquired the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, a 373-room hotel in southern coastal Connecticut. The building served as a printing press for Condé Nast from 1921 to 1967 before being redeveloped into a hotel. Today, the Hyatt Regency Greenwich features an indoor pool, fitness center, salon and 35,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The new ownership plans to implement a value-add program. The seller was not disclosed. Hodges Ward Elliott brokered the transaction.

Casa-de-Palmas-Hotel-McAllen

MCALLEN, TEXAS — Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. (MMCC) has arranged an $8.8 million acquisition loan for Casa de Palmas Hotel, a 165-room property located in the Rio Grande Valley city of McAllen. The property was built in 1918 and renovated in 2020. Robert Bhat of MMCC arranged the nonrecourse loan, which was structured with a 65 percent loan-to-value ratio, a 10-year term and a 30-year amortization schedule. The borrower and direct lender were not disclosed.

Hotel-West-+-Main-Conshohocken

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA. — A partnership between locally based firm Keystone Development + Investment and Concord Hospitality has completed Hotel West & Main, a 127-room project in Conshohocken, a northern suburb of Philadelphia. The hotel, which will be operated under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand, is located within the $340 million SORA West mixed-use development. The property houses two food and beverage options and is the first new hotel to open in Conshohocken in 22 years, according to the development team. SORA West is also home to AmerisourceBergen’s corporate headquarters campus.

Lodge on the Desert

TUCSON, ARIZ. — Lodge Partners has completed the disposition of The Lodge on the Desert, a hotel resort property located at 306 N. Alvernon Way in Tucson. Chicago-based Atira Hotels acquired the asset for an undisclosed price. Situated on five acres, The Lodge on the Desert offers 102 guest rooms. The property was first built in the 1934 as a residence and was converted to a guest ranch with seven rooms in 1936. The asset was expanded into a larger hotel property with the addition of deluxe guestrooms, a restaurant and outdoor space. Bill Murney and Jesse Heydorff of Cushman & Wakefield’s hospitality team in Phoenix represented the seller in the transaction.

DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. — A partnership between Frontier Development & Hospitality Group LLC, Sun Development & Management Corp. and 3H Group Inc. has acquired the 254-room Chicago Marriott Suites Downers Grove hotel. The seven-story hotel is located at 1500 Opus Place in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove. Amenities at the property include 3,400 square feet of meeting space, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, restaurant and bar, onsite parking and in-room dining. The hotel is scheduled to undergo a $10 million capital improvements plan. The seller and sales price were undisclosed.
