SUWANEE, GA. — Anixter, a Chicago-based provider of communication products, has signed a 205,700-square-foot lease renewal at 250 Horizon Drive, a 267,600-square-foot distribution building in Horizon Business Center in Suwanee. The company has occupied the building since it opened in May 1998. Best Buy occupies the remaining 61,600 square feet in the property. The owner, Duke Realty, was self-represented by Brian Sutton in the transaction. Nathan Anderson and Darren Butler of NAI Global represented the tenant.

PASADENA, TEXAS — The Carson Cos. has begun the development of Carson Commerce Center, a three-building Class A industrial development located at the southwest corner of Beltway 8 and Highway 225 in Pasadena. The multi-tenant industrial property will total 365,462 square feet and be 20-ton crane ready. Cadence McShane is the general contractor and Powers Brown Architecture is designing the project, which is slated for a third quarter 2013 completion.

DORAL, FLA. — Yusen Logistics Americas, a freight forwarding and supply chain services company, has renewed its lease for 178,000 square feet of industrial space at 10200 NW 21st St. and 10000 NW 17th St. in Doral. Steven Medwin and Nick Wigoda of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the landlord, IndCor Properties, in the transaction. Stephen DiGiacomo of DiGiacomo Group represented the tenant.

LOS ANGELES — EVOQ Properties has disposed of three non-core assets in Downtown Los Angeles. The disposition includes a series of vacant lots and industrial buildings that are located at 915-949 S. Hill, in addition to industrial buildings located at 759 Ceres and 643 Gladys avenues. The sales’ gross proceeds totaled $19.5 million. Some of the proceeds were used to pay off about $15.3 million in secured principal debt and $1.7 million of contingent deferred interest.

CHICAGO — GLG International has acquired a 38,000-square-foot industrial building in Chicago, for $3.8 Million. GLG purchased the property, which is located at 2300 W. Lake St., to accommodate the company’s expansion. Built in 2000, the building features 12,000 square feet of cooler and 2,400 square feet of freezer space. Mark Nelson and Michael Nelson of locally based NelsonHill represented GLG. John Joyce, Ryan Phillips and Chris Ricketts of Newmark Knight Frank Epic represented the seller, J & S Produce, in this deal.

COPPELL, HASLET AND SCHERTZ, TEXAS — Amazon plans to open three new fulfillment centers in Coppell, Haslet and Schertz that will create more than 1,000 jobs. The 1.2 million-square-foot center in Schertz and the 1 million-square-foot center in Coppell will handle larger items, such as televisions and grills. The 1.1 million-square-foot site in Haslet will handle smaller items, such as books, electronics and DVDs. USAA Real Estate Co. is building the Schertz fulfillment center, and Hillwood Development Co. is building the Haslet fulfillment center as part of AllianceTexas, a 17,000-acre master-planned community. Hillwood is also building the Coppell center.

AURORA, ILL. — Liberty Property Trust and KapStone Paper & Packaging Corp. have signed a leased for 192,00 square feet of industrial space at Butterfield III, located at 2759 N. Eola Road in Aurora. The lease brings the 506,000-square-foot building to 100 percent occupancy. KapStone moved into the building in January after renovations to accommodate the tenant’s manufacturing needs were completed. The fit-out included the installation of additional dock and rail car doors, a design center and employee amenities. Colliers International represented both the tenant and the building owner, Liberty Property Trust, in the deal. Krusinski Construction Co. of Oak Brook, Ill. served as the general contractor. The project architect is Kwasek Architects.
