LEXINGTON, NEB. — BD Construction has broken ground on a 115,000-square-foot manufacturing facility for Orthman Manufacturing in Lexington. Orthman, a firm that produces heavy duty agricultural equipment, plans to hire an additional 100 employees. The new building will operate alongside the company's existing facility in northeast Lexington. Once the facility is completed in 2013, the company will move some of its operations to the new site. Orthman is receiving funding assistance on the project through the Nebraska Advantage Act, which offers tax incentives for companies willing to expand and create new jobs.

HOUSTON — The McShane Development Co./MetLife Real Estate Investments industrial development alliance has sold the 253,838-square-foot Guhn Road Distribution Center, located at 6535 Guhn Road in Houston. The facility is fully leased to Forum Energy Technologies. Rusty Tamlyn and Trent Agnew of HFF, along with Justin Robinson and Kyle Valentine of Stream Realty Partners, represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer is a commingled fund advised by Clarion Partners.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIF. – A 180,035-square-foot industrial building in Rancho Cucamonga has sold to DCT Industrial Trust for $11.04 million. The building is located at 11167-11177 White Birch Drive. It is fully occupied by Steelscape and Puratos Bakery. DCT was represented by Mark Zorn, Richard Schwartz and Brad Yates of Colliers’ Ontario office. The seller, Quagletti M J & P Trust, was represented by Mike Quagletti with Industrial Realty.

LOVES PARK, ILL. — Woodward Inc., an energy and aerospace company, plans to build a $200 million manufacturing campus in Loves Park, just north of Rockford, Ill. The campus will include a 300,000-square-foot production plant and office center on 60 acres. The site will house Woodward's aircraft turbine systems business, and the facility is expected to create 660 jobs over the next five years. Woodward is expected to break ground later this year.

ALSIP, ILL. — Plastipak Packaging has renewed its lease for 204,586 square feet in Alsip, located 19 miles south of Chicago. The facility, located at 12301-12325 South Laramie Ave., includes 4,500 square feet of office space and 24 exterior docks with rail service. Steve Connolly of Nai Hiffman represented the landlord, DCT Industrial Trust, in the transaction.

FLORENCE, N.J. — NFI Real Estate has broken ground on a 526,050-square-foot distribution and training center for Subaru of America in Florence. The project is under construction at NFI Park at Florence Crossing, located at 2020 Route 130 North. It is less than a mile from the New Jersey Turnpike and Pennsylvania Turnpike extension. The building is expected to be completed by June 1, 2013.

PLANO AND FORT WORTH — Dallas-based Westmount Realty Capital has purchased the 45,805-square-foot Krona Business Park, located at 625 Krona Drive in Plano, and a 96,400-square-foot warehouse located at 1401-1424 Northpark Drive near downtown Fort Worth. The Plano facility is fully leased and the Fort Worth facility is 35 percent leased to four tenants. Westmount purchased the facilities in partnership with Tom Wiegand of Eastlake Partners.

PHILLIPS, NEB. — Darland Construction is building a 141,000-square-foot warehouse as part of Syngenta's $63 million expansion at its seed corn production facility near Phillips. The warehouse is slated for completion in early 2013 with the full expansion to be complete in time for the 2013 harvest. The warehouse is a 400-by-326 foot metal building with two finished offices and a covered connecting ramp to an existing building. Darland project manager John Maderak is supervising the project. The planned expansion will support contracting as many as 5,500 additional acres of seed corn.

CHICAGO — MWD Logistics has renewed its lease for 90,624 square feet at 1500 East 97th St. in Chicago. The space is part of Calumet Business Center, a 2 million-square-foot industrial complex made up of 12 buildings south of downtown Chicago. The site is served by rail and is within one-quarter mile of I-94. The Chicago Tribune, Del Monte, MeadWestvaco and Cargil anchor the development. Chris Gary of NAI Hiffman represented the landlord, Ashley Capital, in the transaction. Adam Haefner of Darwin Realty represented the tenant.
