GREGORY — Corpus Christi-based Ewing Construction Co. has been selected for the $30 million, Phase I contract of the 200,000-square-foot TPCO Pipe Finishing Facility, an industrial property located at the intersection of State Highways 35 and 361 in Gregory. The design-build team includes architect KE Group, civil and structural engineer CSF Engineers and MEP engineer Dawson Van Orden Engineering. Construction on the 200-acre site is slated to begin this month and finish January 2013. The owner of the property is Tianjin, China-based Tianjin Pipe Corp., which is reportedly investing $1 billion in the Coastal Bend Region of the U.S. The new facility is the first project of the investment, which is projected to be the largest single investment ever by a Chinese corporation in the U.S.

TOLLESON, ARIZ. — MiTek, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, has signed a 10-year lease for a 259,200-square-foot, build-to-suit facility at 7890 W. Lincoln Street in Tolleson. The facility will be situated within the Tolleson Corporate Park. It is being constructed by Merit Partners, and is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2012. MiTek will be relocating to the facility from its current operations at 212 S. 37th Ave. in Phoenix. Payson MacWilliam and Don MacWilliam of Colliers’ Phoenix office represented both MiTek and the landlord, FR/CAL 3 Tolleson Buckeye, LLC, in this lease transaction.
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIF. — CapRock Partners has purchased two industrial buildings in Santa Fe Springs totaling 33,240 square feet. They are located at 11748 and 11760 Slauson Ave. The former property was built in 1968 and contains 15,240 square feet. The latter property was built in 1971 and features 18,000 square feet. Both buildings are undergoing extensive renovations. Rustin Mork and Mark Repstad of Binswager Realty Advisory Group represented CapRock in these acquisitions. They will also market the properties to owner-users. The seller was a second-generation owner/user that has gone out of business.
NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. —Computer Add Ons has purchased a 15,000 square foot industrial warehouse property at 89-90 Denton Ave. in New Hyde Park for $1.4 million. The consumer electronics distributor is moving and expanding its business from Flushing, Queens. Gary Mayzlin of Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates represented the seller, Fischer Real Estate, in the transaction. He also represented the buyer.
ROMEOVILLE, ILL. — Scannell Properties has selected Meridian Design Build to design and construct a new 239,000-square-foot industrial facility in Romeoville. The new building will serve as a ground distribution and package sorting center for Scannell's tenant, a global provider of shipping and information services. The company plans to invest $37 million in the new facility. The new building will be located within Pinnacle Business Center and construction is slated to be complete in the fourth quarter of this year. The facility will include an automated conveyor system and 101 loading docks. Pete Schmidt will lead Meridian Design Build's project team. Precept Design will provide architectural services.
FARMERS BRANCH — Lee & Associates has arranged the sale of a 10,400-square-foot industrial property, located at 13720 Diplomat Dr. in Farmers Branch. Mark Graybill and Donnie Rohde of Lee & Associates Dallas/Fort Worth office represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. The buyer was Life Time Roofing.
MEMPHIS, TENN. — AREA Property Partners has purchased a four-property industrial portfolio in Memphis, totaling 834,708 square feet, from Kansas City Life Insurance Co. for $23.5 million. The properties are located at 4650 Quality Dr., 4481 Pleasant Hill, 4100 Quest Way and 3363 MIAC Cove. The portfolio includes cross-dock, rear-load and front-load warehouses that are fully leased to tenants including Cummins, McKesson and Krone. Stewart Calhoun, David Meline, Samir Idris and Casey Master of Cushman & Wakefield's Atlanta office, along with Dave Curran and Wyatt Aiken of Memphis-based Commercial Advisors, a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Partner, represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was self-represented.
DALLAS — The Monit organization has hired Colliers International to manage and lease more than 1.1 million square feet of industrial, showroom and flex space in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The portfolio spans 18 buildings, including the Regal Business Center in Dallas, the Regal Industrial Center in Dallas and the DFW Air Freight in Grapevine. The Regal Business Center, located at 4639, 4747 and 4757 Irving Blvd., is a three-building, 150,566-square-foot property. The Regal Industrial Center, located at 4560, 4647, 4653 and 4656 Leston Ave., is a four-building, 380,084-square-foot warehouse property. DFW Air Freight, located at 1200, 1220 and 1240 Texan Trail, is a 113,665-square-foot air freight center. Other properties in the portfolio include properties on North Beach Street in Fort Worth, Avenue R in Grand Prairie, Dalworth Street in Arlington and Pinewood in Arlington. Phil Rosenfeld, Greg Grainger, Matt Thompson, Sparkle Turner and Mike Crain of Colliers International's Dallas office will handle the portfolio's management and leasing.

The company, which specializes in architectural concrete construction, plans to utilize this space for its operations.
