Lake St., the property features 24-foot ceiling clearances, six docks and a small office area. CHICAGO — M&S Pallets has signed a lease for 34,740 square feet of industrial space at 4042 W. Lake St. in Chicago. The company is relocating from Cicero, Ill. Terms of the lease were not released. Michael Nelson and Mark Nelson of Paine/Wetzel•ONCOR International represented the landlord, James Athanasopoulos, in the transaction.
HAWTHORNE, CALIF. — A partnership of Kearny Real Estate Co. and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund V has sold 1.4 million square feet of industrial and manufacturing space, located at 190th and Figueroa Street within the Century Business Center in Hawthorne, to Buchanan Street Partners and Zelman Development Co. for $40 million. The entire space is leased by Vought Aircraft Industries, which recently renewed its space commitment through 2015. The sale involves one five-story, 254,000-square-foot office building and six industrial manufacturing buildings, including a 1 million-square-foot facility used by Vought as the sole manufacturing center for fuselage panels for Boeing's 747 aircraft. Kearny was represented by Fisher Corporate Real Estate’s Jeff Kernochan and Bill Palmer of The Palmer Team; Buchanan Street Partners and Zelman Development were represented in-house.
WEST DUNDEE, ILL. — King Shan LLC is developing a 35,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution facility within Oakview Corporate Park in West Dundee. Designed by Opus Architects & Engineers, the facility is scheduled for completion in September. Opus North Corp. is providing design-build services for the project. Headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, King Shan is a manufacturer of steel wire and metal fabrication. Noel Liston of Darwin Realty & Development represented both King Shan and Opus in the transaction.
NOVI, MICH. — Kongsberg Automotive has leased a 40,583-square-foot flex/R&D space at Novi Research Park, which is located at 27275 Haggerty Road in Novi. The company focuses on seat comfort, driver and motion control systems, fluid assemblies and industrial driver interface products. VERNON, CALIF. — Cushman & Wakefield has brokered the sale of a more than 400,000-square-foot manufacturing complex located at 5215 South Boyle Ave. in Vernon. Cushman & Wakefield’s John McMillan, Jeff Sanita and Tim Wallace represented the Michigan-based seller, TriMas Corporation. The property is AMB Property Corp.’s first purchase in the mostly industrial city located approximately 5 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — MG Land has purchased a 12,800-square-foot warehouse from a private party for an undisclosed price. The property is located on 2.61 acres at 1907 Gateway Blvd. in Charlotte. Lester Osborn and A. Scott Hensley of Piedmont Properties/CORFAC International represented the buyer. Chuck Paxton of Carolina Homes and Land Realty represented the seller.
CAROL STREAM, ILL. — S&S International has selected Principle Construction Corp. to construct a 43,500-square-foot building expansion at the company’s property at 457 St. Paul Blvd. in Carol Stream. The project includes a 40,000-square-foot expansion of the property’s manufacturing/warehouse space and a 3,500-square-foot expansion of its office space. Principle will install a 4,000-amp electric service system, two 25-ton and two 15-ton bridge cranes, an embedded steel rail and four interior docks. Additionally, Principle is constructing a new office space, which will be coordinated with the renovation of the current 4,000-square-foot office space. Richard Preves & Associates are providing architectural services for the project, which is scheduled for completion in July.
HOUSTON — Sysco has acquired a 699,101-square-foot warehouse formerly occupied by Hewlett Packard from a private party for an undisclosed price. The property is located on 105 acres at 24500 Northwest Freeway in Houston. Sysco will move into the property, which will include a call center and offices for administrative staff, at the end of the year. J. Holmes Davis of Binswanger brokered the sale.
