NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. — Hartford, Conn.-based Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors has acquired the Genzyme | Northborough facility for $17.5 million. Built in 1988, the property is situated on 18 acres at 11 Forbes Road in Northborough. It contains 211,600 square feet of office, R&D, and pharmaceutical production and distribution space. Genzyme is the sole tenant. The property is in the midst of an approximately $60 million renovation that will expand the facility by 40,300 square feet. It will also be seeking LEED-Gold certification. Robert Griffin, Jr.; Edward Maher, Jr.; David Pergola and Christopher Griffin represented the seller, a joint venture bwtween ING Clarion Partners and Leggat McCall Properties, and procured the buyer.
BENSALEM, PA. — Roddy Inc. has brokered the sale of a single-story, 15,150-square-foot industrial facility in Bensalem for $800,000. The building contains 16-foot ceiling heights, two tailgate docks, one drive-in door and 2,665 square feet of office space. It is situated within Woodhaven Industrial Park at 1642 Woodhaven Drive. Roddy represented the seller, French Palm LLC. The buyer is a carpentry/drywall subcontractor.
MONCLOVA TOWNSHIP, OHIO — Willis Day Properties has completed the disposition of an industrial property in Monclova Township. Situated on 15.41 acres at 6515 Maumee Western Road, the property offers 107,660 square feet of space. The buyer and acquisition price were not released. STOREY COUNTY, NEV. — Panattoni Construction has completed a $3.7 million build-to-suit manufacturing project for Chart Industries in the Reno Tahoe Industrial Center in Storey County. Construction on the 40,000-square-foot property, which is located approximately 7 miles east of the Reno-Sparks area along Interstate 80, began in June 2009.
APOPKA, FLA. — Quality Custom Distribution Services (QCD), a subsidiary of Golden State Foods Corp., has leased 60,058 square feet of warehouse space at Northwest Distribution in Apopka. The company will provide logistics services for Chick-fil-A and Starbucks Coffee. The facility offers dry good storage and distribution, as well as 15,000 square feet of cooler/freezer space. QCD plans to move into the facility in August. Quentin Caruso of Realty Capital Advisors and Dallas-based Corporate Realty Advisors represented the tenant; Robert Rebman and Lyle Nelsen of Winter Park, Fla.-based Rebman Properties represented the landlord, Oakmont Industrial Group, in the transaction. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
MECHANICSBURG, PA. — Woodstream Corp., a distributor of garden and pest products, has renewed its lease for 203,892 square feet at a 333,075-square-foot warehouse building located in Mechanicsburg. David Paster of Heller Industrial Parks provided in-house representation on behalf of the owner. Pat Lafferty of CB Richard Ellis represented the tenant.
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — Stellae International has subleased 111,000 square feet in Lake Success from The New York Times Co. The space is located at 1111 Marcus Ave., within a 1.4 million square-foot office and industrial building. The New York Times had previously used the space, which features 17-foot clear ceilings, as a distribution center. Stellae will take occupancy of the space in the second quarter. Richard Cohen represented The New York Times in lease negotiations. Schacker Realty Corp. represented Stellae. The asking rent for the space was $7 per square foot.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — AMB Property Corp. has brought occupancy within its AMB Franklin Commerce Center property in Franklin Township to full occupancy. Two leases totaling 127,700 square feet were signed for the 366,900-square-foot, Class A facility. The tenants' names were not released.
BRIDGEPORT, CONN. — Interstate Battery Systems of Fairfield has purchased a portion of the former Bodine Manufacturing Facility in Bridgeport for $1.08 million. The 18,044-square-foot industrial building, which is located at 109-125 Holland Ave., will be used to expand the company's operations, currently located in neighboring Fairfield. Robert Shawah of Baldwin Pearson Co. represented Interstate Battery in the deal. Scott Zakos of Vidal/Wettenstein represented the seller, Holland Avenue LLC.
