WILMINGTON, MASS. — The RAM Companies has purchased a 100,000-square-foot industrial property located in Wilmington. The Class A facility is situated at 234 Ballardvale St. Tenants include Aramark Corp., Arnold Sales/Bimbo Bakeries and Advanced Imaging. Newmark Knight Frank's Boston office has been retained by RAM to lease the remaining 25,000 square feet of space. The seller and the acquisition price were not released.

LEBANON, TENN. — Nashville, Tenn.-based T.W. Frierson will start construction this month on a 120,000-square-foot operations facility for Permobil, a wheelchair manufacturer based in Timra, Sweden. The property, located in Park 840 in Lebanon, will include 80,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 40,000 square feet of office space. Permobil will move into the property from its existing Lebanon facility, which is half the size of the new development. The company expects to double its workforce in the next 3 to 5 years. Lebanon-based Manous Design is building the facility to green specifications, which include a solar panel array and the use of bamboo and other recyclable materials. Completion is expected next summer.
BROOKFIELD, WIS. — Friction Stir Link has leased 31,413 square feet of industrial space at 19975 W. Sommer Dr. in Brookfield. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Paul McBride of RFP Commercial represented the tenant; Steve Stewart and Tom Shepherd of Inland Cos. represented the landlord, Real Estate Recycling, in the transaction.
SAN DIEGO — Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial has handled Pacific Maritime Industries Corp.’s $4.7 million acquisition of a 57,600-square-foot industrial building, located at 1790 Dornoch Ct. in the Otay Mesa submarket of San Diego. Grubb & Ellis’ Erik Parker and Darren Mullins represented the buyer in the sale, and Marc Lipschitz of Voit Commercial represented the seller, Otay Ridge LLC.
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The partnership 400 Augusta Street Investors has purchased the former Claussen’s Bakery Building, a more than 40,000-square-foot industrial property, from a private seller for an undisclosed amount. Located at 400 Augusta St. in Greenville, the warehouse was built in the 1930s and has been vacant since late last year. Harper Corp. will help with cleanup efforts and future renovations of the property.
LOVES PARK, ILL. — Ipswich, Mass.-based United Pipe & Steel Corp. has signed a deal to lease 111,850 square feet of industrial space at 1200 Windsor Road in Loves Park. The 557,000-square-foot distribution facility is located approximately 5 miles west of Interstate 90-39. The lease is valued at approximately $1.5 million. GREEN OAKS, ILL. — Chesapeake, Va.-based Alutiiq has 96,461 square feet of industrial space within the International Airport Center’s 461,939-square-foot distribution facility in Green Oaks. The tenant plans to use the property, which is located at 13820 Business Center Dr., for logistics and storage services to provide furniture and equipment to the Veterans Health Administration Medical Center at the Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago, Ill. Alutiiq is a wholly owned subsidiary of Afognak Native Corp. Douglas Reed of HSA Commercial Real Estate represented both parties in the transaction. The landlord was not disclosed.
OKLAHOMA CITY — Walton Construction Co. has been selected to build a new defense and logistics warehouse and distribution center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. The $20.4 million project will comprise a 165,000-square-foot warehouse incorporating a mechanized material handling system. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be seeking LEED-Silver certification for the project, with sustainable features that include the use of local construction materials, high-efficiency energy systems and a reflective roof. Completion is slated for spring 2011. The project architect is Orlando, Fla.-based MRI Architectural Group.
ONTARIO, CALIF. — WCV Commercial Properties has secured a 4-year, $2.69 million lease with Dirt Cheap Inc. for 185,342 square feet of industrial space, located at 1100 S. Etiwanda Ave., Units A & B, in Etiwanda Distribution Center in Ontario. Colliers International’s Mike McCrary and Jeff Bellitti represented WCV in the transaction, and Anthony Naticchioni of NAI Capital represented the tenant, a landscape services company. The lease makes WCV’s 274,312-square-foot building 100 percent occupied.
DAHLONEGA, GA. — Gold Creek Food has purchased a 342,352-square-foot industrial property from Mohawk Industries for $2.1 million. The property is located on 35 acres at 215 Pine Tree Lane in Dahlonega. A former carpet yarn spinning facility, the warehouse will be used for chicken processing and cooking. Industrial Properties Group represented the buyer in the transaction. David Barber of Philadelphia-based Binswanger represented the seller.
