ORLANDO, FLA. — Hardin Construction has completed the 469,000-square-foot Restaurant Support Center for Darden Restaurants. The Orlando facilities was built to house 1,300 employees that originally worked at 12 different locations. From the new property, workers will support Red Lobster, Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse and Seasons 52 restaurants throughout the country. The architecture firm Perkins + Will designed the space to LEED Gold NC requirements. Green features include efficient heating and air systems, automatic lighting and a reflective roof.

WINCHESTER, VA. — Winchester-based Melnor Corp. has signed a 110,000-square-foot lease with an undisclosed landlord for space in the Fort Collier Industrial Park. Melnor will move into the space, which is located at 260 Brooke Lane in Winchester, on November 1. Brokers from Sperry Van Ness’ Winchester office represented the tenant in the lease.
KENTLAND, IND. — Wolcott, Ind.-based Blue Pup LLC recently acquired a 104,455-square-foot manufacturing facility, which is located at 102 E. Bailie St. in Kentland. The building features 2,500 square feet of office space, 24-foot clear ceiling heights, four dock doors, one drive-in door, a security system, heavy power, a maintenance garage and parking for 165 vehicles. The 32.7-acre site also allows for an expansion of an additional 200,000 square feet. The buyer plans to use the property as a receiving, assembly, packaging and shipping facility. James Wells of Zionsville, Ind.-based Honeycomb Properties represented the buyer; Frederick Block of Lake Bluff, Ill.-based Block Realty Advisors, along with Criss Horton of Indianapolis-based NAI Olympia Partners, represented the undisclosed seller.
WAUKEGAN, ILL. — Lake County Press has signed a lease for 50,000 square feet of industrial space at 3210 Oak Grove Avenue, a 122,560-square-foot Class A industrial building in Waukegan. The printing company plans to expand into the facility and use the building for warehousing and distribution. Whit Heitman, Samuel Badger and Jason Weinhaus of Paine/Wetzel•ONCOR International represented the landlord, ING Clarion, in the transaction. The tenant had in-house representation.
AVON, MASS. — The Stubbledine Company has completed the sale of an industrial building located in Avon for $1.15 million. The 22,000-square-foot building is situated on 1.45 acres at 244 Bodwell St. Micah Stubbledine and Donald Humpton of The Stubbledine Company represented the seller, Titan Realty Trust, and procured the buyer, 244 Bodwell LLC.
CHINO, CALIF. — Represented by Voit Real Estate Services’ Commercial Brokerage division, Westinghouse Lighting Corporation has leased a new 137,523-square-foot building at 6718 Bickmore Avenue in Chino. Relocating from Santa Fe Springs, Westinghouse Lighting will use the new location as its regional distribution facility. Voit’s Peter Castleton represented the tenant in the transaction, and Jim Koenig of CBRE represented the landlord, Manulife Financial.
AUBURN, WASH. — On behalf of Panattoni Development, The Andover Company Inc./CORFAC International has handled Pacific Cascade’s lease of the remaining 48,885 square feet at Auburn Park 277, a 141,970-square-foot high-bay distribution building in Auburn that was completed by Panattoni in June 2008. The Andover Company’s Brian Bruininks and George Rockwell represented the owner in the transaction.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Phillips Feed has purchased a 100,000-square-foot warehouse from an undisclosed buyer for $2.7 million. The property is located on Blackstock Road in Spartanburg. Brian Young of Greenville-based Grubb & Ellis|The Furman Co. represented the buyer. Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine’s Sammy Dubose represented the seller.
MOUNT PLEASANT, WIS. — Maysteel LLC has signed a lease for 41,000 square feet of space at a 125,000-square-foot warehouse/manufacturing facility, which is located at 1400 International Dr. within Park 94 in Mount Pleasant. Chicago-based HSA Commercial Real Estate leased the property for an undisclosed price. Sam Dickman Sr. of The Dickman Company represented Maysteel; Kenneth Braden of Colliers Barry, along with Chicago-based Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler, represented the landlord in the transaction.
HOUSTON — XL Parts has selected the Houston office of Cadence McShane Construction Co. for a multi-phase industrial project in Houston. In Phase I, Cadence McShane will build out 12,017 square feet of shell office space within the company's existing 187,620-square-foot industrial center at 15701 Northwest Freeway. Phase II will include the construction of a 101,650-square-foot, build-to-suit industrial facility located on approximately 24 acres at the intersection of Northwest Freeway and Beltway 8. The building will include 30-foot clear ceiling heights, three drive-in doors, two semi-dock doors, 34 standard dock doors and 2,931 square feet of office space. Munson Kennedy Partnership is serving as project architect. Completion is slated for February 2010.
